I'd love to make something like this, but then I'd really want to keep it dust free, anybody have any idea's for that? I just use a toothbrush and brush it off. Works well for me. Thanks that's a great suggestion, sorry lilcurt but cans of air cost a fortune (were I live) and don't last very long so I can't consider them an option.

Time to resurrect this thread! (I've also pinned it to the top of this board, as I think it's a good resource) So hopefully by the end of the week, I'll have my whole Lego room fully arranged and will be ready to..... oh, disassemble my last MOC. You didn't think that I'd actually be ready to BUILD anything, did you?? Here's a sneak peek of the room, starting with the new drafting table that I got for free from my company after they moved to a new office location and unloaded a bunch of their furniture in the process: I added the track lighting with some "daylight" LED bulbs yesterday, and it is looking like it's going to be a dynamite setup!

Looks good guys I have been fighting my lighting situation for the last year or so. Haven't done much with the space as have been busy with RL, we got some new sets to build and sort though. Mabye it's time to do something We shall see if I start feeling better and get some stuff done.

I'm trying to update my building space with new sorting bins and sorting tables. What do you guys use for your sorting work-space (like sorting bins/trays, etc..)?

Any small containers work good for sorting. I like to get something shallow and large for holding the parts to be sorted (a lid with a lip all the way around from a large bin sometimes works well), as it makes it easier to see similar parts so that you can pick them all out easily. Cheap disposable tupperware can work well for holding bigger parts like bricks. Smaller more specialized parts often just go into a bin to be further sorted later, after the big easy stuff is done.

All depends on how much space you have. As Jordan said disposable Tupperware, works well. I also reuse my pick a brick cups, and we have some Plano tackle box bins, and sterlite drawers. I also have some Stack on parts sorting bins too. I will take some more pics this week when I get picked up a bit

Just a quick comment, the tackle box approach works great in some cases, but the main drawback is that, if it's not the final resting place for the parts, you've got to fish them out (pun intended), which can be kind of annoying. Independent containers for each part let you pick each one up and just dump it into wherever the final home for it might be. I'll take a photo of the rest of my room soon and add it to my previous post, before it gets all messy with BrickCon preps

I'm still not ready to show off my full space yet (hopefully will make more progress this weekend), but I did update the figs on my minifig shelf. I think I actually need to build a second one, because I have more than 66 figs that I'd like to display at any given time Wall of Fame! by Jordan, on Flickr Which fig(s) is(are) your favorite?

Which fig(s) is(are) your favorite? Second left on the bottom, the green knight with the gold visor - he looks very cool! Also fifth from the left on the second row from the bottom, green torso, round shield and sword. What torso is that? Oh dear, I picked two green minifigs... my Lenfel roots are showing! I've been thinking of doing something like this for some time. Building for the KC I have a large collection of NPC across all four factions, and it would be nice to be able to display them...

Thanks! I really like that bottom left guy too. He's one of the few truly "custom" figs on that board, as the gold visor, plume, and shield details are all painted. The second fig is using Dr. Doom's torso. I try to keep an eye out for parts in other themes that will work good for castle. Super Heroes, Nexo Knights, CMFs, LOTR, Ninjago, Chima, Star Wars, etc.

The second fig is using Dr. Doom's torso. Straight to my Bricklink wanted list - awesome find! Maybe we should do a 'great castle torsos from other themes' list...
