Yes this has been asked in many places other then here, nut I figured what the hay... So Here it goes, show us your sorting area and building spaces I am currently re organizing my work area. I am moving my desk and putting in a 6 foot folding table next to it so I can do my sorting and building on the table. I do have one question and that is where are you guys getting your sorting drawers that have multiple compartments that are upright? I have the plastic 3 drawer shelves like everyone but the ones I am thinking about usually store nuts and bolts and have like 24 compartments. Curious minds would like to know, and about how much are they? Anyways I will post pics of my space tomorrow. Curt

A recent flickr video I did of a spaceship MOC nicely shows off my table and the smaller sorting bins I use for tiny parts and minifig accessories.

oooo ooooo ooooo! this is one thing i love. i am kinda an organization freak at times! those 3 drawer shelf units are expencive. i tend to avoid them unless i find em at a garage sale. i buy my bins at WALMART! every 3-5 months they put a bunch of plastic bins in the seasonal section with different coloured lids. they are sold in packages of 4 or 5 for 5 or 6 bucks a pack. i buy the gong outta those. they are wonderful for storing parts and such. i am also building a spinner for all my PAB cups that i use to store parts as well. i too have the 6ft folding table to build and such on. they are useful, but i need to get a better chair as i am using a bar chair and am hurting my back. i can post pictures tonight when i get home from work of my entire space as i was uploading them this morning to imgur/flickr to create a topic of "show me your build space right now, no cleaning before picture!" because i think the true way to see the genius at work is to see it in it's natural state, not all tidy and gong. i store the bins from walmart in bookshelves... it will be better explained once i post pictures.

alright, so here is what mine looked like last night. 20140908_205846 by Pyro5050, on Flickr clearly i love my PAB cups, but that isnt even the half of them. Laptop is for music and pulling instructions/tutorials while working on them. 20140908_205825 by Pyro5050, on Flickr just on the other side of the leather couch you can see at the top of my last pic, is my video game area. i am a Nintendo collector, i used to collect all vintage games, but they were taking over, so i had to narrow it down. now only NES, SNES, N64, GCN, Wii. you can see my small collection of ps2/ps1/ps3 sega games behind the boxed virtual boy at the bottom left. if you want to know anything about NES repair or the like, ask, i know way more than the hacks on reddits gamecollecting or whatever... they banned me because i called them out on their bullshit, but i still do tutorials on proper cleaning and repair of vintage electronics. this is also why i know a bunch about how to keep lego in good shape too. 20140908_205815 by Pyro5050, on Flickr somewhat empty shelf of sets, random display and storage. there are a ton of complete Hobbit and LOTR sets on the shelves there, a few vintage space and such on the far right shelf. some bionicles as well... i am not a bionicle fan really... but they are kinda neat. planning on using some to make a giant spider or dragon or the like for a battle scene. you cant see it, but under that red brick container at the bottom is a large pink bin that houses only bionicle parts. 20140908_205808 by Pyro5050, on Flickr and this is a overview of the workspace area. tons of PAB cups, around 60 or so, dot the shelves, 30+ smaller bins are spread around with sorted bricks, under the table have 4-6 larger flat clear bins with sorted lego as well, the end of the table has two large tran blue bins for 2x__ bricks, and 1X__ bricks, and my plant container sits on top of that. currently the 1x___ plates container is sitting on top of the plants container. The 3 drawer organizer is not normally on the table, but that one contains my slopes in Dark Grey, Blue Grey, Black and old grey. i was working on the MOC you can see the back of on the black shelf so i needed slopes. that is my build area.

This is mine, I just cleaned it for the first time since I set it up a few months ago today, so I thought I might as well post a photo before the desk is blanketed in bricks again.

Some of you guys are a lot more organized than I am! I live on the 9th floor of a high-rise and in Canada, so this photo was taken at around suppertime.

Here is the space as of this evening enjoy As you can see I have made a little progress. I got my sorting Bins from ACE, and Harbor Freight. Both work well enough but the Bins from Ace I like a bit more. Still have a bunch of sets to breakdown too...
