This is looking most excellent so far Schmidt! The texturing on the walls is nice, not to busied, but also not plain either. Good Job. I agree with you that a tilled floor would probably look better. As you said it is very parts intensive to build a castle but the final reward is great. I am enjoying your progress and am looking forward to more!
Happy Building, Sir Valiant~

Thanks guys, all of you, for your continued encouragement and comments. They keep pushing me forward! I hope to have an hour or two tonight to invest in this, as I will be quite busy most of the week.
As far as the wood, I agree. I have planned on building a wooden gatehouse above the gate since the initial concept. I will continue with that thought. I might end up building a small tower on one of the walls, I will just have to see how busy the build gets. The keep (It is sitting on the back wall, and I have it walled out) will be another 15-20 studs taller, in addition to what it already is.
Thanks for the suggestions!

Well the chapel is done, complete with pews and communion as well! Don't worry though, that's not wine it's juice. I bet you didn't know the dragon knights were Baptists, huh?
I felt like I needed to bring a little color to this Castle, and the chapel seemed like the perfect place to do it. Let me know what you think.

Those bits look great with the 'wooden' floor! Will the flooring be the same through all the interiors?

You should do a cheese stained glass window, I love those.

I'm more amazed of your amount of masonry bricks more than the actual castle.

If you have any 1x2 tiles, I suggest using them to stagger the joint spacing. I think it makes it look more like a real wood floor that way. (example below) Baron Steelfyst by AK_Brickster, on Flickr I love the little pews. They are adorable, haha. PEW! PEW! PEW!

@erathor Pridenar - Yes, I will have all the floors wooden. I think it makes it look much better. Takkata - I love them too, but unfortunately I don't have the proper cheese slopes (or the right amount) for something like that. StephenB - Thanks. I'm running low of them though. I'm down to about 500. It's going to be interesting to see how it works out SpearralSquid - Thanks man! @ak_Brickster - IT's funny you said that, my original intention was to stagger them, because I think it looks incredibly more realistic. But this was about 2am last night, and I did the first row without even paying attention. After I did the first row, I was too tired and too lazy to switch them back.

I'm really looking forward to this one! What will the landscape be like?

By the way Jordan, I loved your Pew! Pew! Pew! comment. Gave me a chuckle. Hey Ieuan, I'm not entirely set on the setting. I am considering setting it in a clearing in a swampy type setting. We will just have to see how it works out. I don't want to say for sure simply because I have already deviated from my original thoughts so much

wow I am coming in late to the party. There is so much I want to say but I am struggling to get this lake-town build done. I have several tips I could give to save you some brick while building something like this. Also as far as modularity I could share some stuff as well. I will post some of this stuff after ECCC. I will have a lot more time then to get some of that content up.
I like what you have done so far and I love your initial diagram.

Well I have most of the keep finished. I just have to fill in the two stud gap between each raise section with a 1x2 light bley tile. In retrospect, I am going to do this to the lower section as well with the 1x2 cheese slope on the raised sections. Back to the keep: I decided to give it a little color with some brown, and throw in some offset windows to give some much needed depth. It's amazing how much a little color can liven up a castle. Your comments and criticism are always appreciated!

I'm glad you're adding more wooden parts! I think some wooden towers "wood"(Please excuse the bad pun) look great! Or maybe some stone towers with wooden tops and the slanted roofs and battlements, if you can manage that.
