Name: Lark and Alexander Happy to be part of Loreos! Welcome to Loreos Lark, it's great to have you here! It's always refreshing to follow a charactor who is not a knight/warrior, I am looking forward to seeing what you come up with!

GC XIV / Biginette / Champions of War / Quick Response KnightsQuick Response Knights by searsandrew, on Flickr Pioneered by Captain Ottokar, the Quick Response Knights are responsible for monitoring the borders of Loreos, and quickly tracking down interlopers. Highly skilled trackers, these knights occasionally also get tasked by local law enforcement to help find thieves and smugglers who hide just outside of small villages. While the Quick Response Knights are predominately meant for use within the borders of Loreos, they've been known to cross the southern border to assist heavier units that have been ambushed by outlaws. The QRK members don't have a standard uniform, and generally find a way to end up wear whatever is comfortable. Knights are drawn from local garrisons, and usually have displayed some aptitude for tracking during a dispatch for their village. The QRK Captains hold final say over the members of their units, and they usually range from 4 to 16 man teams. Pictured above is Captain Ottokar's team. Ottokar (center) wears his Sergeant armour from his time with the Heavy Footmen. His second-in-command, Copper, helps maintain his personal estate and is Ottokar's closest friend. Copper comes from the Desert Tribes, and speaks very rarely of his family. Chester (left) is the teams strongest member, capable of dismembering a plated foe in a single swing of his battle axe. Karson (right, by his pack horse 'Gerald') served as a Morastian Horse Archer before joining the QRK. Finally, the newest member is Ankor (back, flag bearer), Ottokar makes the newest member be the flag bearer, and Ankor is no exception. Ankor comes from Lors Vegos, and has one of the best urban tracking skills Ottokar has ever seen. GC XIV / Restricted / The Cream of the Crop / Heavy FootmenHeavy Footmen by searsandrew, on Flickr The Heavy Footmen are one of the many backbones of the Loreesi Army. The heavy footmen are covered head-to-toe in premium steel and are a completely unmounted force. The ride wagons to the front line, then advance on foot through their adversaries line. In times of defense, the heavy footman will discard his axe and light shield for a pike and full-bodied shield. The heavy footmen always travel with a supply wagon, and themselves are well supplied in battle. Their lines do not break easily, and can be counted on by their generals as an unmovable point when needed. The heavy footmen are some of the most physically fit soldiers in the entire Loreesi Army, made up of exclusively professional soldiers, these men train constantly, and are able to march distances wearing their full plate armor. They also do not fatigue as quickly as lesser armed men in the heat of the Loreesi deserts. Shown here is a typical heavy footman squad, lead by a Sergeant. The quad is sporting their combat shields and battle axes. Behind the squad is crates containing their swords, full-bodied shields, and barrels of water. This squad is preparing to leave from their barracks to a front-line deployment. Sergeant Fennal and men by searsandrew, on Flickr The squad with supplies by searsandrew, on Flickr

GC XIV / Restricted / Loreesi Blood Helms Ronnet Oresbane of White Desert by THEDONALD13, on Flickr Ronnet Oresbane of White Desert and his regiment of Red Helms. Each of the party patrols the Southern Reach to stem the tide of wandering Outlaws into Loreesi lands. 20 Mounted archers and 10 lancers are near impossible to counter in the open lands of the South. The legend of the Red Helms is that during the Ork civil wars their unit cut down so many of the Green Skins that their helms were soaked in the blood of the slain and they have kept the tradition up ever since. GC XIV / Unrestricted / Lord Stout's Northern Command GC XIV / Unrestricted / Lord Stout's Northern Command by THEDONALD13, on Flickr Loreos is most known for it's cavalry, but they can bring to bear ground troops to support extendend campaigns. One of the largest garrisons is based at Northgate Reserve a facility on the North side of Stowburn mountain. Northgate Reserve has been a bastion of Loressi defense in the Northeast. She has seen her fair share of sieges, but she has never been taken. In times of war and invasion the local population flocks to her protective bosom for safety. Lord Stout is currently the steward of garrison and his Son Gerrick leads the Stowburn Pride, the Cavalry arm of their forces. Together they take their men out for maneuvers and training. ------------------------------------- Pictured above - Stowburn men 15 Pikemen 18 Heavy Infantry 17 Longbow men 10 Crossbowmen 3 Commanders & bannermen 8 Barded Pride Riders 3 Lord Stout's Command unit 5 Aerani Salus Men 35 Spearmen 10 Heavy Infantry 10 Command unit

My entry for the Champions of War category of the recent GC. Jerrick the Indomitable, Champion of the Black Guard "The Black Guard is made up of the best and the worst Loreos has to offer, its ranks are filled with both knights of noble decent and savage mercenaries. The Black Guard are the elite protectors of the noble families of Loreos and are know most for their golden blades and ruthless tactics in battle. Members of the Black Guard have often been mistaken for outlaws by other Loreesi troops, these assumptions often lead to a brief but bloody confrontations between the two Loreesi units, which has earned the Black Guard a fierce some reputation in the Loreesi army."

Great job on the entries everyone!

Local Challenge XXIV - To Arms!
Citizens of Loreos! With Prince Mark and a small army dispatched on a secret mission in the new world, the entire province awaits news with both eagerness and trepidation. How will the enemies of Loreos react? It is rumoured they think us weak, our power broken by the costly war against Queen Galainir and our prestige as the leading faction of the realm eclipsed by the ascendency of Lenfald. While tensions have been mounting for quite some time, it is clear they are now coming to a peak. Prince Jarius, once again leading in Prince Mark's absence, has issued a decree to all loyal citizens of Loreos: Hope for peace, but prepare for war! A Visit to the Armory. by Mark of Falworth The Challenge: Present a scene(s) showing your character/secondary character preparing for the potential conflict. This could be in any number of ways, some suggestions are: through training, (eg. Drilling your army, riding or archery practice), producing or procuring arms/armour (eg. A busy blacksmiths forge, visiting an armoury) or inspecting new or repairing old fortifications. The scene should clearly show our faction preparing for conflict and show the superior training/arms/fortifications of Loreos. Your scene should ideally include some sort of structure or building (or be an interior - basically we are looking for a little more than just minifigures on a base). Rules: - Your character (or secondary character) must be present. - The Loreesi banner should be shown either in Lego or digitally or both. - A size restriction of a footprint between 20x20 and 40x40 applies. - Members may submit more than one entry. Deadline: Midnight anywhere in the world, 29th January 2017. Rewards - 4 points for entering (In the case of multiple entries, only the first entry will attract 4 points. Additional entries will be scored as free builds.) - Entries will be judged by faction vote. - The winning entry will receive an extra 4 points, the runner up 2 points. Note: If your build is set in Port Valiant, don't forget to also submit it in the Colonisation Global Challenge. It would be great to see Port Valiant grow, and the KC is current discussing the award of faction points for levelling up a settlement...

Quick question: would an execution (say of a spy, traitor, or troublesome bandits) count as preparing for a conflict? Just wondering because I have such a build nearly completed. Also if you enter a build in both the global challenge and this one do you get points for both or just for this one?

Quick question: would an execution (say of a spy, traitor, or troublesome bandits) count as preparing for a conflict? Just wondering because I have such a build nearly completed. Also if you enter a build in both the global challenge and this one do you get points for both or just for this one? Well it's not exactly what we considered... but you know it does kind of work! A nation preparing for war would naturally aggressively seek out spys etc and 'deal' with them! So that's a thumbs up from me!! Regarding the points from the Local/Global challenge, you only get personal points for one, usually whichever is the highest. The advantage of building for both would be to increase the settlement size of Port Valiant.
