Happy birthday, CCG! It's true that 17 is sort of a let-down year, since 16 is when you get to drive and 18 is when you get to vote. Hope all of your presents have that oh-so-blessed rattle, and best wishes on having a terrific year!

For my state, you get your license at 17, so I assume it would be a nice year. I'm only 16, and I do have my permit but there is nothing really fun about that.

In all actuality I work in a pizzeria. I already have keys to the place. I make pies, cook on the grill, manage the register, deliver and whatever else needs to be done. It's a really nice place. We use Boar's head meats and fresh ingredients. It's the best job I've had. We've caused 2 places to start to close already and one has been around for 35+ years. But it's expected when the owner has a background in economics.

The job is turning out quite well. I'm at a manager position already. Yesterday morning began at 10 so we could make 40 pizzas. But the time goes by fast and I'm never really dreading work. In fact I look forward to it every morning.

So I work at the Lego store, and occasionally its awkwardly quiet, and then time just stops. But in general, time passes quite quickly. I need another job as well though, I can't rack up enough hours.

@ Gary. Touché, however the last time we had a Trudeau in power we got our Constitution back from the British (through the Kitchen deal conducted by Jean Chretien and Roy Romanow), prevented a terrorist crisis in Quebec with the FLQ, declared official language status for Canadians (French/English) and numerous other historical actions that really set the stage for Canada. He has big shoes to fill, but if he is anything like his father he will provide greater benefit for Canadians than most.

LOL! I can that you two don't like Obama. Well fair enough. I'm not a fan either...but its hard to compare Apples to Oranges...or in this case a Quebec Strawberry to a Hawaiian Pineapple.
