Nice MOC, but let me get this straight: you named your character Leif Thurgilson and put him in Loreos? That's a Garheim name if I ever heard one. And his sidekick is called Hamish? Sounds like Garheim. Loreos is middle-eastern.

Second, old Northern-European viking-age names are too cool not to use.

Yeah, you see this kind of thing all over the world: people whose ancestors might have come from somewhere else and settled, passing on a foreign-sounding name, or even folks who are part of active sub-cultures or sub-groups within a larger population. (Think Chinatown, Little Italy, and so forth.) I like the fact that you used the foreign-sounding name, and I like the fact that you have a reason behind it. This is how interesting backstories develop.
