I like the idea of stats, and it worked well, but I think there should be some more creative input from the players. Like using certain objects in the room, like throwing rocks or something like that at an enemy. Launching a sword at an enemy with magic, etc. I don't know if that is even doable, but it would be cool. Yes I think the stats system needs work. A greater level of interactivity would be a good improvement, maybe people can make suggestions as to how that might work. ie if they've ever played games like this before. I had worried that I'd given people too much health, or not enough opportunity to recieve damage. I had expected that people would submit fewer points early on and leave more to the dice. But perhaps I should have made the enemies stronger early on, then people would have had to rely on the dice a bit more.

This was fun It did drag on a bit but thats to be expected in this type of enviroment. Now the only sugestion I have with stats is that after each round if submission perhaps the main stats board is updated once the challange is completed. This went much like a standard RP. I do believe that it worked well, an yes the main boss batle worked out well. Now that said I think that when the players are asked to make an In charecter comment in the stiry that there coments should be worked in to the story updates. I would be willing to run one of these towards the end of the year. I hope that this becomes an ongoing thing. Also I think it would be cool if the charicters submit small builds once in a while

I was thinking that myself, it could definitely use some more incorporation of LEGO, this time only the figs were LEGO.

And it would take significantly longer if there was any building to be done. I think just having the Characters LEGO was enough.

I think I mentioned that in my original intention. It would be nice if there was a little more lego involved, even mini or micro builds (eg the castle, the pit, the dragon, a door etc) or to some extent submissions from the players somehow.
I didn't include peoples comments as figured people would find it odd reading them twice, but maybe not. Or they could be PM'd and worked in that way perhaps.
I kept the points secret as figured (incorrectly) that people would keep track of their own scores. And revealing them would effect the other players submissions, but perhaps that wouldn't have been a bad thing, and made it more collaborative?
It would be fun to perhaps fit in another two this year. One over the summer and another later in the year. This one took 3 months, which was longer than I anticipated, but to be expected with the delays in time difference and holidays/vacations and general life.

If you do hold another later in the year how many participants would you want? There were a decent amount this time that wanted to take part.

Andhe, you did a great job and I really enjoyed it. Glad to be one of the ones who made it out alive!

Thanks AK, it was a lot trickier than I had anticipated, and I would have liked to allow for more interactivity between players and the storyline. But maybe we can suggest some improvements for round two... That said... who's up for round two? I'd love to be a player this time rather than the story teller. But more than happy to give some advice (or even my spreadsheet...) to someone willing to take that role.

I suppose you mean who is up to host round two, not who's up to participating . Anyhow, I wouldn't mind maybe writing the story, but I most definitely do not wish to be score keeper. And of course I want to participate if someone else does one!

I may be interested in the role of storyteller, as I have run a couple DnD games before; I would have to do one later in the year though, as I am way to busy this summer.

I've had an idea for a new 'tale'. Slightly different format this time, but thought it was time to resurrect the thread nonetheless.
I'll firm up my thoughts, but in the meantime feel free to express interest in participation.

Maybe, but no bets: plus I'll need to be told how it works if I do join.

Maybe, but no bets: plus I'll need to be told how it works if I do join. This one would be more Player vs Player, unlike the last one which had a more co-operative element. People also suggested more lego, so it will require some small mocs, but nothing too intensive (8x8 perhaps). Just trying to neaten up the scoring system, then I'll explain it. If there's enough interest.
