About a week and a half to go and only the host has entered the 1st ever Sledding Tournament. Perhaps I need to change the rules and say I can win if no one else enters the contest. Please don't make me change the rules!

Haha. I just had an offer accepted on a new house, but will try to get a build put together before the bricks get wrapped up / packed up!

I've had an entry built for a while, now, but my SD card died and I haven't bought a new one yet. I might get mine up before the deadline and I might not.

I just accepted an offer on my condo, so I'll get an entry built this week before I start packing up the Bricks for the move!

Boom! Entry built! Kiel Vulfrak figured the best sled for a race must be his dog sled! After all, it was fast, and he had a good feel for it. As an added benefit, his dogs could just pull him to the top of the mountain and he wouldn't have to do any work! Well, the plan started out smoothly enough, with his strong northern Huskies easily pulling him and the robust sled to the start of the course. Once he cut the dogs loose, however, things "went downhill in a hurry", as the saying goes... AbilitySpeed: 9 Acceleration: 3 Toughness: 6 Maneuverability: 2 Jumping: 4

After the C.R.A.S.H. games and his pre-game celebration failure, Sverre decided against even competing in a tournament again. Well that would have been the case if he didn't have two younger brothers. He some how was convinced to participate in the sledding tournament, except there was a catch. His brothers also convinced him to use a sled called a snow board. Again not sure why he was trying this strange contraption, but he decided to win this bet. Abilities: Speed: 8 Acceleration: 4 Maneuverability: 5 Toughness: 2 Jumping: 5 Sled Tournament by Mike Mercado, on Flickr I had a little time and was able to make a quick build. I know its not a traditional sled but hey. I think My stats are correct but if they are not, feel free to tell me.

I had this weekend in my head for some reason. Will try get something built today, but don't wait if I don't manage to.
EDIT: And here he is racing in at the last minute! Garheim's champion (?? He likes to think so anyway), Arnault Stormstrang flying in on his 'Golden Flyer' sports sled.
Surviving only on good-old-fashioned gravity and garhim guts Arnault aims to fly down the slopes to victory!
Arnault's stats:
Ability Speed: 7 Acceleration: 5 Toughness: 3 Maneuverability: 6 Jumping: 3

OK, I have to close the entries into the First Garheim Sledding Tournament.
I will start working on the write-up for the race between Lanseril Snowmantle (Excalibur), Kiel Vulfrak (AK_Brickster), Sverre (Merc) and Arnault (andhe). Be on the look out (about 72 hours) on this thread for the write up with enough snow and ice related puns that you will want to melt.

Just to wet everyone's whistle, here is the description of the course:
Official Course Description - First Garheim Sledding Tournament
For a fan of Sledding, there is no better experience than a fabulous course in a spectacular setting. From rolling tundra to jumps cut into the mountain, this course provides the beauty and challenge for the First Garheim Sledding Tournament. The course has 18 Challenges and is divided into the First 9 Challenges and Back 9 Challenges. All of the Challenges are rated Novice, Fair, Moderate, Challenge or Extreme. Novice rated challenges should be almost automatics for an average performer in that category, with extreme challenges giving trouble to even talented performers – and everything in between.
The first challenge on the course is a novice rated cut named The Straightaway that gets the racers off on the right blade. Just after The Straightaway, is the first jump in the course (a Challenge rated jump) named The Bunny Hill, named for the home of rabbits that course creators did not want to move. The next two Challenges keep with the easier early design having Mogal Turn (rated Fair) with the Jump of Peace a novice jump at the bottom of the Mogal Turn. The fifth challenge shows the wickedness of the course designers with the first obstacle The Castle, a beautiful ice castle of Castle Mikithdar – this challenge is rated Extreme. The next two challenges cut through the forest, there is the Lover’s Leap (a novice level jump) and The Snow Drift (a novice level obstacle). Challenge #8 on the course is natural recreation of The Bleak Cliffs that each sled will need to jump which is the courses’ one extreme level jump. After The Bleak Cliffs is the ninth challenge, The Crescent which is a moderate rated cut looking to propel the racers onto the Back 9.
The Back 9 begins with a beautiful and fair obstacle, The Logs that need to be broken through. Challenges #11 through #13 traverse several ridges and rolling hills and offer The Great Driftplains a cut that is Challenge rated fork leading into Hang Time which is a fair rated jump leading to The Wall a Moderate level obstacle at the end of that grouping. That stretch of challenges could help to make or break many good rounds. After this section along the ridge, Challenges #14 and #15 a pair of forks to test the racers - there is Gar’s Arm which is a Novice rated cut followed by The Corkscrew an Extreme rated cut. Challenge #16 is The Great Mouth a water filled jump with a moderate rating. The final two challenges are additional ice carvings turned obstacles created by the great course makers, including The Glass House (Novice) and ending with The Tower (Challenge rated) to keep the strongest sleds having to push through to the end.
