Also when you travel home you can always pick up from your personal collection. I had the same scenario happen when I was studying. Eventually I got my parents to send my collection to me. They sent it via bus because post was too expensive for the bins of brick.

If you plan to build for Garheim, some small white bits, some small bley bits, some bley bricks with studs on the side, some small tiles, etc. The idea is to have a bunch of small, diverse pieces. andhe might have some good suggestions. He builds lots of terrific small scenes. Thanks AK, you're the best. Here's my slightly unconventional advice that I messaged Carrick. But thought I would share it here also for any other college attendees... 1. Leave your lego behind!... Your first few weeks at college (University in the UK) are a key time of making friends, joining clubs, settling in to your course etc and this all takes up time. If you're anything like me you will find times that you are wondering what to do, but the last thing you want is an excuse to go hide in your room (eg with your lego). This forces you to interact with new friends and joins sports clubs, hobby groups (or focus on your course...) etc which is all an important part of college life. 2. Assuming you will be home for christmas, and you are itching to get back to your lego, you can pick up some then. At this point you will also know how much time you have spare after your college work and social activities. You will also know how much space you have to store and build lego. 3. Plan! There may be a few things you have in your head that you would like to build. So take the pieces you think you might need for these. I.e you will need different parts for shipbuilding than for stone castle building... (see also AK's advice above) 4. Get your parts into some form of storage container. Like a tool or craft box so stuff is easily organised and accesible. I don't know how you store you lego at home, but by having a 'travel case' you can take stuff and put it back easily each time you go home. 5. Pieces... this really is impossible for anyone to say with knowing your collection. Sometimes a certain piece might spark an idea, or I might see something online eg a style or technique that I want to try. But either by planning, or through just messing about with the pieces you have, having a limited collection to work from usually makes you find solutions to problems that are quite satisfying. 6. Who knows, there might even be a LUG/Lego club on campus... This probably isn't the sort of advice you were looking for, but I felt it was the most broadly applicable and hope it's helpful.

Not quite, dragons are lizards, dinosaurs are birds, or rather birds are dinosaurs. History geek mode - ON.Actually not to quibble but it's theorized in anthropology that the human-inspiration for the myth of dragons came from early peoples' discovery of dinosaur fossils. So from that point of view they are the same thing really. History geek mode - OFF.

Quite likely true, but some dinosaurs most likely appeared similar to our idea of dragons and may have breathed fire too. Plus, why no dinosaurs? Does saint (rather a knight) George and the dragon (likely more a dinosaur) ring a bell ? At least it's likely that knights and dinosaurs lived at the same time. And as for birds being dinosaurs... haha, don't make me laugh (I'm not an evolutionist .)! My two cents worth...

And as for birds being dinosaurs... haha, don't make me laugh (I'm not an evolutionist .)! My two cents worth... A lot of incorrect assumptions in that paragraph. While it is possible, we have yet to find any dinosaur that could theoretically have breathed fire, so lets just put that one on the back burner for now. Second, dinosaurs lived MILLIONS of years ago, knights were about a 1000 to 300 years ago or so, so no, no knights and dinosaurs. And you shouldn't really rip on the most supported scientific theory we have, we have less information supporting gravity, yet you still act as if it exists correct? EDIT: So I don't want this turning into some big debate on MB, so if you would like to respond to me, please do so through PM. Thanks CCG

I would strongly argue there are just as many incorrect assumptions in yours as well. Not all of us believe the same way, and there is plenty of valid scientific proof for what Josdu is suggesting, and not just your ideas.
Either way, thank you CCG for suggesting a PM. That is the direction this conversation needs to take.
I would remind you all this thread should be used to discuss the story update and not the existence of dragons, evolution, sainthood, yada, yada, yada. Small talk is ok, but I don't think we need to hijack this thread for the purpose of those specific discussions. There are plenty of places to have them, this thread just isn't one.
Thanks guys for your understanding, enjoy a fruitful conversation!

There is no reason to be criticizing me, when I already admitted in my post that a discussion like that did not belong in this thread, and then shifted it over to PM. I am honestly kind of annoyed and hurt that you would post this seemingly to just yell at me, and then show your support for josdu's position. Not sure how welcome I feel here anymore. CCG

CCG Hey CCG, Please understand the nature of my post was not to "yell" at you or undermine you at all. I wanted to remind readers the importance of taking these conversations to PM. Typically these are very passionate conversations and ones we need to be as mindful of as possible. My response wasn't geared to you per as, but the community. If I upset you then I am genuinely sorry, and I mean that; it certainly was not my intention. Understand you are a wonderful member of our community and you should feel very welcome here.

Hey Schimdt Alright, it still kind of came off as being specifically critical of me, but knowing your intentions behind the post. I do feel a little better, I am still unhappy, but less so than I was. As an athlete, I already get yelled/criticized on a weekly to daily basis, so coming here is a good way for me to cheer up and relax, but that gets ruined when I get yelled at here to. So I hope you see why I don't feel quite as welcome as I used to. (plus being like the only non religious person here is kind of hard) So thanks for clearing up the meaning behind your post. Now lets just bury this, and get back to the amazing build and excellently written story. CCG

Years ago, I signed my letter of intent to play division two college football (the good American football, not that boring Europe stuff ) so I can relate to dealing with difficult coaches. I'm sure there are other "non-religious" people as well. Please don't feel like you aren't welcome here. You're a great builder and a vital part of our community. We are glad to have you mate! Once again, I am sorry for the confusion. But, as an Outlaw it tends to be my nature to stir up trouble

I've finished high school on June 23, 2015. It's interesting I have the whole world in front of me yet I still feel like I'm going back to school tomorrow. It's going to take some getting used to.
