MONTHLY MICRO CHALLENGE - JUNE: IF A TREE FALLS IN THE FORESTGreetings Mer-Beardouins! Since last month's challenge focused on building a structure, This month's micro challenge will be foliage-focused.The challenge is relatively simple. Build a "bignette" that showcases your best tree. Here's a good example by Brother Steven: CCCXII A Hunters Fire by Brother Steven, on Flickr Limitations are 16x16 max build size - no height restriction (irregular base is OK, but should fit within a 16x16 footprint, and foliage overhang is OK), one minifig max, and the focus should be on your tree.
MOCs will be judged on the quality of the tree, presentation, and overall scene composition.
Deadline is 6/30/17.Prize will be a 50ct package of mixed green leaves from AltBricks! (due to shipping costs, international winners will receive $10 via Paypal or Venmo toward a future Lego purchase)

And pass. I'm terrible at landscapes or natural type things... Might try and rustle up an old school type build.

I will give this an attempt, time willing, but I should state here: Fellow Lenfels, this one is in our arena, let us rise (no height restriction) to the occasion!

Great challenge! I find trees to be one of the hardest things to build realistically. Here's my entry, which uses a technique inspired by this tutorial.

Great! I love trees! I am also bad at trees. I am really good at asymmetric patterns. And I still like making trees! I am also introducing my secondary character with this build

I wasn't going to enter, as I find good trees quite difficult, but I whipped this one up that I am quite pleased with! While I wouldn't like to say it was my 'best' tree (I think I will always be searching for the 'best' Lego tree!), I like it as it is simple to build (see the breakdown pic on Flickr), uses common parts and gives a depth I felt was lacking in some of my previous attempts. It is based on this tree by Brother Steven.

Congratulations to everyone who made a build this month, all are great.
Unfortunately I haven't been able to build anything this month. Can't wait to see what July brings.
