LoR GC XI - Desperate Measures
Challenge: Secrecy
Size: Unrestricted
Story:
On the fifth days the Garhim and the Loreesi meet up at a public square in Stonewald.
Mitah Val Karem and Sibyl Val followed were already waiting for them at the square, hidden from their view.
Loreesi: Good, you have made it here undetected. We have problems. They changed their mind. Or they never wanted to help us in the first place. Either way, it seems we have no way to stop Lenfald from reaching the islands first.
Garhim: We have bigger problems. It seems ...
Loreesi: Let me finish. There is no reason to worry. We have prepared an alternate plan already. Back there, on the balcony. That is Lord Wenslav, cartograph for Lenfald and heavily invested in the discovery of these lands. We have arranged with an outlaw assassin to take him out. Ideally we would have tried to bribe him first and keep this all quiet, but desperate times call for desperate measures.
Garhim: No, let ME finish. It seems your Outlaw friends betrayed us. I checked the chest today, and all the gold was gone. Replaced with worthless stone. They must have stolen it.
They continued to argue and lay blame on each other for some time while Mitah Val Karem and Sibyl left the square.
Mitah: We will let the guard keep an eye on these two for the rest of their visit. Our part here is done.
Sibyl: You go on and help prepare the next expedition as planned. I will join the watch later and help with the observation. Farewell.
Lady Sibyl Val went home to freshen up and keep up appearances (she is supposed to be a spoiled daughter of high society after all) while Lord Val Karem left for the coast.
