Forgive my ignorance, I literally just registered yesterday, but is this topic still open? And, if so, can I ask a question?
Do you guys allow digital builds here? I know this is a MOC-based roleplay, but I'm wondering if you allow MOCs built on the computer. I do render the MOCs I build, so they look pretty decent, but they're still not real. I don't cheat or anything like that—I'm very careful to make sure the stuff I build is structurally sound and all that, even though it is digital. So, could I join this using digital builds?

Hi Luke! Yes, you can use rendered builds. One of our most talented "builders" is Bechman (https://www.flickr.com/photos/37535413@N05/) and he does digital builds exclusively, as far as I know. Welcome to the forum. I hope you enjoy your experience here!

Now I have to figure out what faction to join...

Hey guys! I was just wondering where I could read up on certain rules to do with your characters story? Like are there certain things you're not allowed to make up? Example: Making up a city.

Generally anything is fair game that follows within the bounds of the current storyline. You can make up a city (but it will not be placed on the overall map), but people generally stick with more of a large town or village-sized location, as it would not make much sense for a large city to exist that isn't on the map. You can also make up landmarks, folklore, history, key structures, non-player characters, and pretty much anything else you can come up with as long as it doesn't interfere with or contradict official canon. Additionally, if both parties are ok with it, you can share NPCs and locations with other players. Basically, there is a lot of free reign so you can do almost anything you want- just ask your FO or FL if you're unsure.

So I am trying to start getting into photographing my MOCs. As experienced builders what tips can you give to help me make better pictures. I'm no expert, but I have gotten a lot better with my photography as time has gone on. Building a light box helps tremendously and is pretty easy to do. Even when my builds are too large to fit in mine, I use 3 aluminum lamps that I got at Walmart for about $4 apiece. You can clamp them to chairs or anything else that's available and shine them on your build from opposite angles to eliminate shadows. I use a tripod and timer for my camera and I can't do without it any more. I also set my exposure settings higher than I think I need and that usually works very well. Paired with a nice white background, which can just be a sheet or a wall, you can easily GIMP your way to victory. My only other advice is getting the right camera. If you have one, great! If not, it's infinitely better and easier than a phone cam. I bought a Canon model that was older and was being replaced (but it is still a very good camera) on sale for about $200. It does everything I need. As long as you get one that has adjustable focal depth, exposure, and aperture and shutter time, you're golden. I hope that helps a bit!

How to link pictures from Flickr. In response to a request from Karhn here is a quick guide to obtaining and posting BBCode from Flickr. There are more advanced ways of doing it but this is the simplest. If you want to know more about BBCode simply Google it. There are plenty of good guides and tutorials out there! AK_Brickster , feel free to move this post if you think it better fits somewhere else!

Correct. You can test it by clicking on the BBCode tab, then back to Preview at the bottom when you create a post.

Does anyone know what to do when Yahoo doesn't recognize my password? I got logged off, and now I can't seem to log on. I looked online, and all that I can find is that alot of people are having this problem...any advice?

Yep; it says that they do not recognize my recovery e-mail, and I hadn't set up a phone. I am going to try calling the one number I was able to find, if I can find where I put that down...

I think that Yahoo was doing some restructuring of their login protocols recently. Something changing the sign-in process. I only use it for logging into Flickr, and my credentials are all saved, so I haven't run into that issue yet.
