Hello, not castle related, but with this build I am starting to get ready for the 200th Anniversary of The Hundred Days campaign which ended in the Battle of Waterloo, which, Sir Haymar Glen , Lord Mercat , perhaps Schmidt and two other friends and I are going to recreate at Brickfair Virginia in August this year. So this is my first Napoleonic-era build in getting ready for the big battle: This is a LEGO build of Karl von Steuben’s painting Napoleon returned from Elba, which shows the event that happened 200 years ago on March 7th, 1815. Click on the photo above for the background on what is happening. Here is the painting and my FP take on it: 100% LEGO with the exception of that flag, courtesy of CapeMadness. Hope you like the build! The Brickfair Virginia collaboration to render Waterloo in LEGO will be massive, with over 1500 minifigs, terrain, La Haye Sainte farm, and hopefully Hougoumont as well. The FLICKR site for our coordination is here, if you want to take a look: LEGO Battle of WaterlooGary

That is a really great build. You've done a nice job both in recreating the picture, but also in making the minifigs and uniforms and accessories believable in their own right.

Really fantastic build! In addition to the great figs and posing, the mountains in the background look very clean and give a great "distant" effect. Nicely done!
