Also, am I allowed to enter the vignette, restricted, and unrestricted categories? Or am I supposed to just stick to one? I'm still kind of learning the rules.

Sir Jake of Garheim,
Please see this previous post.
Gentlemen, a couple of things to note: 1.) You don't have to build for all three categories. You do have the option to build in all three...
If you have any questions about the GC, there is a chance someone has already asked them, so you might find them by browsing the previous posts.

I choose group 1! Can someone tell me where the mainland is? The mainland is the main continent, the land that holds the four main factions territory. Your entry(s) should revolve around fighting the Queen's troops stationed there. Group 2 will fight on the Royal Island, which is just off the coast of Northern Lenfald, Southern Garhiem.

I'll sign up for group one! I didn't think you'd put Mark into a situation where he might actually die. In fact, I'm very glad you didn't!

I'll sign up for group one! I'm sure that if AK rolled a 1 or 2 for you had you joined group 2, he would have said it was a 5 or 6. I don't think he would want to have to be the bearer of the news that Mark of Falworth is dead.

Excellent. I'm eager to find out if my fellow dies or lives with a wound.

I'll sign up for group one! I'm sure that if AK rolled a 1 or 2 for you had you joined group 2, he would have said it was a 5 or 6. I don't think he would want to have to be the bearer of the news that Mark of Falworth is dead. I don't think so. The KC made it very clear that if you choose to join group 2, they are very serious about your character dying should that be his/her fate. If the KC would change or withold that result for any person, no matter who it is, it would be grossly unfair and ruin the spirit of LCC/LoR/etc. Just because someone's character is better known, an iconic figure, or the sigfig of a fantastic builder does not make that character immune to death in this challenge. In fact, it would make even more of an impact if such a character did actually die, so why alter the roll? I think some credit is due to the KC here. They made an awesome challenge, set up this GC over many months, made this challenge actually perilous to participate in, and still left the choice of your character's fate in the hands of the player themselves. If you don't want your character to die, then you simply don't join group 2. It's that easy. That said, I have my my choice. At heart, Hans Zarkan is a mercenary. Dying is bad for business, and he isn't particularly fond of our lords, so he doesn't really care much if they are rescued, or are eventually killed by the Queen. That is the problem of far more honorable men and women. The queen's taxes however, are a problem, so he will be, for a price, fighting to oust the queen's soldiers in the mainland. Group 1!

Since he is in group one we don't have to worry about that now!

Rather than take my word for it, just sign up for group 2
