Any way to use a jumper plate or something to create a hollow stud that is centered and then tile the rest? The door frame would only be anchored by 1 stud but that should be enough if you can replicate the connection at the top of the assembly as well.

Your picture and question interested me. As far as I could tell, the space you have in your picture isn't quite 6 studs long because of the extra half of a 1x1 that connects your angled bricks (forgot their actual name). Anyway, if you remove that there is room for 6 studs but they will nestle inside instead of sitting flush. I anchored my experiment to the ceiling with a 1x2 jumper plate. The floor would have required a hollow stud under the center of the door and tiles the rest of the way. I decided I would be content with just tiles underneath. I don't intend this as a suggestion; just an idea. I'm sure there are other, better ways of accomplishing similar results.

You're right unfortunately. .. somehow my quick test fit was wrong you have posted a potential good alternative. I'm thinking about making another set of adjustments to the layout of the top of the gatehouse and what you have posted up might fit perfectly! Thanks

I'm playing with 1x2 and 2x2 jumper plate and neither one fits right....
- edit - its a single stud that needs to go up nota jjumper.

Tx AK! Btw I am looking to scale back the upper structure - the corners will support lookout towers

When I saw the overhead pic with the angled doors show up on Flickr I had to come find this thread to see exactly how you did those angles. Nice collaborative/iterative design, gang.

Here's couple updated pics. I think that the lookout tower will be capped with a 3/4 corner roof of different pitch then the rest of the structure.

Looking good!
Not a big fan of the dark bley supports underneath, but I really like the shape of the tower. Nice job.
