I would love to build a section, but most likely won't be able to come. If I do build something and ship it to say, Schmidt or Sir Caelan Munro, could you display it for me as part of the colab?

Awesome Drakk! Ships are great, and the more soldiers the better.
RBC, responded to your PM. I'll work something out for you.
Currently the city wall is angled. After some deliberating, it will be corrected and made straight, for the simple fact it will be much easier to build that way.

I can send those to you Schmidt, when I send you the ships. ~RBC

RBCustoms Some awnings and rolled up cloths/silk/carpets would look great for some market stalls. I think just regular cloth, or prefab. Lego sails will be fine for most ships. I know many of our builders are exclusively purist in the truest sense of the word so custom sails probably will not be needed. I don't plan on building any large vessels, but some custom flags/banners might be something to think about. Schmidt Before you draw a new map maybe we should have a discussion about what the city planning will look like. You know the whole block system etc.

I am creating some ships and possibly a module. I will include about 4-5 market stall awnings in my package I send to Schmidt. I will also make up goodie bags with about 4 capes in each for the participants, as well as about 60 index card sized notecards to place on the display table at BFVA2015. Schmidt, I can email you the digital card file to print more, if you so choose. Also, I would like to reserve one of the modules inside of the city, just incase I have time to build a few buildings/shops. If it looks like I will not get my module completed in time, I will notify you guys by the end of April. I will probably start prepping all my stuff at the end of April/beginning of May, once I have completed final exams!

I may be able to build a large Garheim longship.
Also I had an idea. Perhaps for the ship battle place a few brown plate like 4x6 or 4x8 on ships and have soldiers rushing across them. I think it would help with the sense of ship boarding.
EDIT: Does anyone have a good method of building a central mast?

Carrick of Garheim I actually think that instead of just brown plates slapped on, we should do a SNOTed board by stacking 1x brown plates then turning it on it's side. You can put headlight bricks in to pose the figs on. Looks nicer and sells the "weathered at sea" look better if you can do a mix of brown and reddish brown. As to a mast, the tried-and-true approach is stacking 2x2 brown round bricks with a bar going through the core for stability, so that's a good option, though kinda basic.

Alright I think the weathered look might be a better bet. And I had that idea for the mast I just wanted to get some other ideas as well.

That's a neat idea. However everyone wants to build their ships and boarding is fine with me. Depending on how many ships we have, we might have to make more room in the water section.
We need to get a feel for how our buildings will be placed within the walls. Is anyone going to be building any structures?

I would but I'm not the best builder and I don't really have pieces to build a Loreos style building.

I definitely would, for sure. I've recently been tinkering and experimenting with sagging walls, so I might like to try a more run-down area. I've never built an Arabic building before(assuming I'll be doing this because it's Loreos), but I'll practice by making like tablescrap architectural details. Also, I misunderstood the map, so I'd like to take D4 and E4 instead of my previous choices.

Yeah I guess it should be stated, if it hasn't already been assumed, that the inside of the city should be in a Loreesi styling. The "Loreesi Styling" has always meant to me a mix between canon Arabic, Roman, and I would also say some Spanish and Italian elements. Almost like the city of Dale from the Hobbit/LOTR universe. I guess it's a bit up for debate how everyone goes about building their sections but I would think a cohesive and blended look should be something we aim for. Dale, for reference. It has taken some styling ques from Oriental type architecture, but it's still a good reference material for what I envision a Loreesi city might look like. -

Zach Bean that looks good, I can work with that. Guess I'd better start stocking up on tan studs, tiles, and bricks! I'm also imagining lots of colorful bazaars and market stalls and such.
