Ok so parts counts asside. To those who have these sets, if you had to chose which to get first which would it be? An Why? I am looking to get both but am not sure which to get first! My Birthday is comming up and I need to make an educated choice.

Medieval Market Village, hands down. My brother has the set, and it comes with a ton of great parts.

I don't have either, but it has to be the MMV, the set I want most!

MMV. Slam dunk. One of the best sets of all time. The build is amazing, and the part selection is superb. The only advantage to MVR is the animals. The goats and grey horse are great. You can easily solve this dilemma by purchasing the MMV and then BrickLinking the goats and horse, which is what I did.

MMV. Was one of the first big sets I bought as an AFOL coming out of my dark ages. Fantastic build and looks great as a set.
The MVR is a nice set, but definitely feels more of a 'big set' in the castle line, whereas MMV was definitely a set made for the AFOLs that fitted into the castle line (if that makes sense).

well I will be the happy new owner of MMV, By the end of the week. I was able to find a set on bricklink that was New and sealed with a damaged box for $149. This is the cheapest I have seen NEW, outside of evilbay. And from what I have heard with ebay lately I would rather BrickLink Lego, if you know what I mean. So I am saving on shipping by not getting the box, it would be going in the trash anyways. So in a few days I will have some new fun. Also got a few other things from the seller for myself and wife. I will post pics when it gets here

Yea the biggest problem with ebay though recently is there are sellers selling what look to be official sets and when you receive them they end up being knock offs. The cheapest New/Sealed set on ebay was $140 with $15 for shipping or there about. there were a couple cheaper but I was sniped at the last minute while at work. most buy it now options were 155 and up. I am happy with the price I paid as it keeps going up on this set. Now to keep an eye on Mill Village. I wont be able to get it for a few months as Lego funds are currently tied up in something else I am working on at the moment Jordan, AK_Brickster should know what I am talking about...

I think $150 is a pretty decent price for that set. Wish I had bought a few at $99 as an investment when they were available a couple years ago. I don't even own any stocks that have grown by 50% in 2 years, that I know of, haha.

I got two MMVs back in the day and they are incredibly helpful for MOCing. I can't say it's better then the MVR since I never got that one.

That is a tough one... now that I have both I cant say that I would choose one over the other. Both are great and complement each other as part of a village and I think that once you have one you will end up with the other sooner or later.
