How wide is your screen resolution set to, Bentoft? I set the image to 1600 pixels wide, I think.
As for not being able to see the top, that's just the nature of the image. We can only make the banner so tall before it is so big that it is in the way

The quality looks much better now! Still looks cropped to me however, and the "Merlin's Beard Forum" text appears on top of the wizard.

I guess the solution would be for me to add some blank space on either side of the image to make it wider. Black maybe?

The banner area is 1656px wide on the screen I use. When I zoom my screen to 110% that problem goes away.

I need to zoom to 125%, but I still cannot see the top of the banner.
Anyway: it is not a big problem for me.

The top of the image remains cut off because I have to manually set how tall the banner image is, which I think I've set to 300 or 350 pixels. The width varies depending on your zoom level, however.
Now that we've discovered some of these sizing/layout issues, we'll be able to request more specific photo dimensions in the next banner contest. Thanks for the help, everyone.

I've yet to converse with my fellow admins, but I am going to go ahead and announce a Winter Holiday version of the MB Banner contest!
Rules are much the same as before (see first post for this info), but this time, build a medieval winter wonderland for the site's banner image.
Winner will receive a fabulous prize (TBD) and will have their banner displayed for the entire months of December and January (or at least, as quickly as I can format it for the site after a winner is selected).
Deadline is the end of the month, November 30th.
Ready, set, GO!

Just a medieval snow scene? or a medieval celebration? or any time period celebration/snow scene? or any of the above ? Also will you change back to this one come February?

It could be any of those ideas, josdu. Look at the finalists from the original contest to see the scale that was most popular. Something close-up enough to show minifigs well seemed to be the best bet, as opposed to an overview of a huge MOC. Admins will select the winner. Prize for 1st place only this time
