I know some of you have probably heard these rumours already, but The Brick Show uploaded the video below to YouTube a couple of days ago. I desperately hope these rumours are true, because we haven't seen a 'normal' pirate theme for a while.

The theme isn't a rumour, there was even a lego competition to name a new lego pirate ship for 2015! (With the massively original 'Brick Bounty' winning. Other leaks/rumours seem to point towards the following sets: $11.99 USD - Shipwreck Defense $19.99 USD - Soldiers' Outpost $19.99 USD - Treasure Island $39.99 USD - Soldiers' Fort $89.99 USD - The Brick Bounty In terms of theme and price point they look about right, or along similar lines to other themes. brickset.com/article/12144/2015-pirate-set-names-and-prices-revealed

andhe I remember the naming competition, but I wasn't sure if it was a one-off or not. Either way, I'm very excited about this, as I really need to build up my pirate collection.

I am looking forward to it. I just hope we get some set redesigns and not just reboxed, renamed old sets...

this makes me sad honestly. the highest price point set there with it's name says "ship" to me, but the value says "small ship"

I agree Pyro. I would much rather spend an additional $30.00 to get something quite bigger. $90.00 for a pirate ship screams large row boat to me.

Yeah, they might have a small single mast cutter in there, which is all nice and fine, but we have many of those, i can see it being a single mast, single sail with a small fore sail, and with the luck the pirate line has had, probably a skelly as the bowspirit decoration...
regardless of what they do, chances are i will buy multiple copies of each... because i am a slave... at least i recognize it though.

A three-mast behemoth like the glory days of the old pirate ships would be awesome. At least it's SOMETHING though. You can always buy multiples or Bricklink the ship parts to go bigger, if desired. Sail size would be a possible issue though, but custom sails are easy enough to make or purchase, I imagine.

i wish, i have yet to see one of these in person, complete or boxed even. i dont really want to pay the BL price for some of them either though. $440 plus shipping.... ugh...
maybe LegoLand California will have a decent ship section when i am there in two months,

A small ship, whilst not so impressive or desirable, means more people will be able to buy it and, more importantly, means I will be able to buy it.

true, i guess we will have to wait and see what happens with the announcements of the actual sets, maybe my thoughts will change completely. until then, i am going to take apart my LOTR Pirate ship ambush and rebuild it into a larger frigate, as well as build the other two or three ships i can build. i definatly know i will be buying the ship though.... anything medieval or pirate, mmmmmm

That imperial flagship is my all time favorite build. I am a big pirates fan as well and am looking forward to these sets.

I'm super pumped for this, especially because I have pretty much zero as to pirates. As soon as I get some, I'll build the sets and then break them down for parts to start making Pirate MOCS! How does "Ian Sea-bane" aboard the "Rogue's Cutlass" sound?

Will hopefully be buying some of these. I've always wanted to try my hand at building in that classic pirate styled theme, but haven't had the chance. Maybe this will be the motivation I need
