Next part: As Navarre and his men traveled to the coast in their longships they learned of a tournament to be held in the Shade by none other than Prince Rogell, who acted in his mother, the queen's, place. "This is not a chance to miss!" exclaimed Areneas, "what a shame we are right now embarking on an expedition to attack the very creator and sponsor of the fighting pits," he sighed. "That doesn't mean we can't participate my friend," replied Navarre, "however," he continued wryly, "let us hope the son is better then his mother, and does not capture all who attend." Soon after one of William Navarre's rising men, Jackson Fernandez, was chosen to appear at the tournament. "I hope you do well, and in addition to the glory and prizes winning will get you at the fighting pits I will promote you vastly should you survive!" Navarre told Jackson before he left. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- My entry into our awesome current LC!

The next installment is up : "Finally the coast is out of sight and we are on the open sea!" exclaimed Navarre as the shoreline sunk below the horizon, "Ralincler, tell the man at the helm to start heading north, I'm going below." After Keeler and Jackson had started their journey south, first to go to the fighting pits and then to proceed to Aldermore castle and take command of Navarre's men, the three longships headed toward Grahnhaven to raid both the coast and the queen's isle, a dangerous expedition but one which promised much booty. Besides, the three ships were filled with men some of which were Garhims, others mercenaries of the Shade, and Navarre's own men, all heavily armed. However dark plots were being formed, plots which foretold a drastic end to the attacking expedition! -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Meanwhile, Keeler and Jackson had gone to the tournament held by Prince Rogell, in which Jackson Fernandez was to participate. The first fight at the pits went well, the seats were crowded with outlaws and dragon knight each betting on their favorites and it didn't take long till Jackson wandered casually into the arena to the approval of the mad spectators. Opposite him a tough fighter named The Wolf for his fierceness walked in. As the crowd roared in approval the two clashed into each other but the desperate contest was quickly over as Jackson swung his ax into his opponent and ended the fight, not, however, before receiving several wounds which were promptly attended to. The next went equally well as in a fight against an Ursa Thorpe Jackson once again crushed his foe. Keeler had been an interested spectator of both fights. Now he was sitting waiting to watch the determining round, hoping Jackson would strike once more, claiming the title of victor of the Fighting Pit! His friend marched firmly in, confident of victory, but the swiftness of his opponent was magical, avoiding almost all Jackson's well dealt blows he struck again and again! However, despite the tense fight Keeler inevitably cast his eye about. As his gaze fell on Rogell he studied him closely, "As he a possible future leader it is as well to find out his mettle," muttered Keeler, "He seems quite as ambitious as his mother and much less scrupulous if possible, indeed, perhaps it would have been better for us had the queen not been murdered so strangely, Rogell looks quite capable of having done it though." Suddenly he felt as though someone were staring at him, glancing quickly at the other side of the arena he saw a man whose eyes seemed to be looking through him, and with a shock of recognition he realized it was Cain. As their eyes met Cain shot him a fleeting look of anger tinged with evil, or was it triumph? He forced himself to turn his eyes back to the fight, where Jackson was losing slowly to Rowan's fierce speed. But his thoughts were on that look and he hardly took in what was going on around him, not when the crowd went wild as Jackson fell, nor when Rowan was declared the victor of the Fighting Pit. In a daze he made his way out of the arena, wondering how to interpret Cain's look, surely it meant something? The dark omen made him hurry out of the city, and without delay set his face toward Aldermore, traveling forward with ominous feelings, something felt very wrong... -------------------------------------------------------------------------- More views on my Flickr!

The next update: Now Keeler approached the last hill, from whence he knew he could see the Tower of Aldermore. Though he had been traveling swiftly the whole way, he slowed as he approached his destination; he had a vague premonition that something had gone wrong… As he reached the top of the hill he paused. A small wreath of smoke floated into the sky, "To late!" he exclaimed, and then, the words coming out of his clenched teeth with a growl, "Cain…" -------------------------------------------------------------------------- An intro to my GC builds which can be expected soon, hope you like it!

Next: The Letter.
"Yes, they're ready." Keeler slowly marched up to examine his troops. It hadn't been hard to gather a small army. The queens men were roaming loose, without a head, willing to fight for anyone or any cause. Other outlawed hotheads were in the same case, without money or lord, wishing only to fight. Still, more men were needed to storm such a fortress as that of Cain. Keeler looked around. The martial display of armed men was rousing and the underground cave lit by torches gave everything an eerie glow. "Men, we fight for vengeance, riches, and glory. We fight as one, we fight for the Outlaws!" Cheers went up, echoing strangely in the huge cavern. Suddenly a man slipped around the pillar beside which Keeler stood and handed him a paper. It read as follows: From Sir Kellen Stout, Lord of East Stowburn, Hand of the Prince, and Warden of the Easter Lands:
Sir, we hear you desire men to take part in an enterprise of revenge. My men would be at your service, myself as well, if you agree to lend service to me, with your men, in the upcoming events of possible war with Lenfel, civil war, or other clashes of powers. If you desire to meet me and discuss the terms of this alliance, send back my messenger with an appointed time and place where we may discuss things alone.
Signed, Sir Kellen Stout.
Keeler turned to his men after having perused the letter, "Men, I am very pleased with your uncharacteristic discipline, you may go to your assigned posts. Two days hence I will give you further orders." He turned to the messenger as his men dispersed, "In two days at Tiger's Hold tavern in Dreadmoor. Go! Tell your master." -------------------------------------------------------------------------- This is my third build with this type of layout and is my biggnette for LoR's GC, category Secret meetings in Preparation for Revenge. Or Unrest. Also the first build for a collab between thedonald13 and I.

Here is the next part: The Meeting "Humph, I'm not too sure I should trust any of those treacherous Loreesi, but we do need more men. What do you say?" Keeler asked one of his captains. "Not much Sire, but any reason to suspect this fellow?" "He's a Loreesi, what do you think? Anyhow he wants to meet alone, yet I do not, so you go to the tavern first and stay till we both leave. Go ahead and act if necessary. We leave in an hour! Can't ever be sure about these Loreesi…" Keeler muttered after his retreating captain. Two days later at Dreadmoor… A cloaked figure approached a small inn. As he knocked on the door he saw a man walk out of a dark alley. "Sir Kellen I presume?" Keeler asked the man. "The same. I'm glad you're here, now on to business: You desire men for this enterprise. I desire help in the coming times, if we can agree to give each other these things, what else would there be to do?" "Ha! What else? Why gold, man!" returned Keeler, "Gold and weapons; You would lend me your men for a three day enterprise and yet in return get my services until these turbulent times end, which they never shall. A fair deal indeed! I want gold for this treaty." More haggling continued and went unnoticed in those restless streets. Such shady deals were common, even in sight of the city watch's towers. In fact the men of the watch were often as bad or worse then the rest. Lawlessness pervaded the streets and nothing was done to stop it. Dreadmoor indeed lives up to its name. After some time an agreement was reached; "Expect the ships to arrive at Fort Quagmire in as short a time as possible," Kellen was finishing. "Aye, and the men shall be floated up the river and shall join my men in The Bog of the Lost. I give my word as an Outlaw that it shall be so; which is as good as any Loreesi's word at least," he ended as Sir Kellen faded into the dim streetlight. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- More shots (Keeler is in the red cape btw, sir Kellen in black): Check out many more views on Flickr! And this is my unres entry to GCX, go outlaws! Also the first build for a collab between thedonald13 (Sir Kellen) and I.

Here is the next small update: Ambush! Keeler rode slowly down the small path, his captain following behind him. He was feeling rather pleased, the treaty was a fine one and now Cain's fastness could be stormed and destroyed with few problems. Suddenly a boulder bounced down the rocky slope, Keeler halted. Something must have moved it. As he looked half a dozen horse men and bandits swiftly approached them, Keeler wheeled his horse but saw in dismay several quick outlaws bounding down the mountain side to cut off his retreat. Leaping off his mount he cut down one of the bandits, next grappling with a large, tough barbarian. However seeing himself surrounded he thought wisdom the better part of valor and quickly surrendered. "Here is all the money I have on me good sirs," Keeler held out a small bag heavy with gold however the bandits ignored it. "Keep your lousy gold and get on your horse man! Don't try escaping, you'll find our archers have dead aim if you do!" the apparent leader grinned. "You may not need your gold in a few days anyhow," laughed one of them, "We're interested in higher deals ourselves!" -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Here is a better veiw of the "large, tough barbarian" who was the main part of the vig: C&C are appreciated !

Here's the next stage! Another Perilous Ascent!
"They must be Loreesi outlaws for such a devilish idea to have come to them!" Keeler scowled as he slowly climbed up the mountainside. The ground rumbled, spurts of lava shot out of the top of the volcano. Slowly Keeler reached the top. Advancing cautiously he descended into the fiery crater, clambering over the few rocks showing above the magma. Keeler had been sent up to face a monster which the supposed "bandits" had been in fear of for some time or so they told him, Keeler at first refused but they threatened the worst they could imagine and he desperately agreed. Now having penetrated the beast's lair he looked around. Suddenly a red dragon rose through the lava. It sent a roar which echoed through the mountains and gorges, fire poured from his mouth. Keeler staggered backward to avoid the burning tongues of flame. "Hmph! Lets hope this is the last time I see you!" growled Keeler. It wasn't the first either, but this time Keeler stood his ground. With a slashing blow of his sword he jumped upon the scaly monster. As the dragon thrashed he sent his sword deep into it's heart. Wildly the beast sought to shake off it's load, but Keeler held on, digging his knife into the beast's chest again and again. With a final roar the dragon fell backwards throwing Keeler in the air and sending it's fire high into the sky. Keeler just had time for a moments triumph before he crashed into the side of the crater. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Check out more photos on my flickr. So this is my restricted for the GCX category Unrest and is for my brawl with thedonald. C&C is welcome!

Here are a couple small vigs : The Gold Slowly a troop of outlaws meandered down the mountainside. "Well, that worked out better then we expected!" one exclaimed, "but you two better take a different route in case he wakes up…" "Yesir!" replied one of the grinning men who held Keeler who still had not recovered from his encounter with the dragon. The rest of the men were dragging loads of gold which they had taken from the dragons lair after Keeler had defeated him, and not wishing him to demand a part of the booty they thought to never let him know it existed. The giant held a sword of gold up and admired it while the rest carried as much as they could in kettles and crates. Meanwhile the bearers of Keeler carried him down towards their outlaw settlement. They passed over a rickety bridge which spanned a gap between the rocks. Glancing down it they beheld boiling lava in the depths below and hurried on till they reached their destination. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Just a couple small vigs. Are the pics to big btw?

A pair of figs who will play a part in the story latter on: Name - Lord MalfangarmGender - Male Species - Wolf man Relations with other Factions - Dislikes all three factions Personality - Fiery and quick to enter a fight yet cool in danger, once he makes up his mind nothing can change it (some call this firmness, others stubbornness), cunning, destroys all in his way, has little love for gold and is rather intelligent Desires - Outlaws to stay separate, and to create an anarchy throughout Roawia, riches are not in his interests, dislikes Baron Locklear Bio - Lord Malfangarn was born in The Shade and fighting for a large clan he now has risen to leader of it thus controlling a large share of The Shade. He lives in a magnificent fortress in The Shade and decided to take part in the council to voice his opinions despite his dislike of Baron Locklear and unity. Name - Frederick SavoyardGender - Male Species - Human Relations with other Factions - Hates Loreesi, is fine with Lenfels, thinks Garhims too far away to be bothered by Personality - Clever, deceiving, but keeps his word if he ever gives it, very thoughtful before important decisions and loves gold Desires - Outlaws to unite and be governed by the council not one monarchy and thus he is not a supporter of Baron Locklear, also desires the outlaws to extend their territory towards Loreos, also to exploration and thus get gold Bio - Frederick Savoyard is a respected single noble living in a huge mansion near the Ort Necrosis and having many armies under his leadership. Hearing of a council to be held and liking the idea he set out to take part in the massive gathering. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- These were built for our present LC.

Next update: "All hands on deck! You two, get the spare sails patched up!" The morose men walked off in obedience sulkily muttering threats and curses, Navarre could plainly see a mutinous spirit in his crew. "I don't like the look of the sky, captain, there's not a cloud in sight," Ralincler walked up to where Navarre was gazing at the horizon, "Ay, mark me a squalls a comin." "Likely enough," Navarre returned sighing, "I hope not though-" "Wait," Ralincler shielded his eyes and looked towards a distant dark spot on the glassy sea which was little disturbed by the wind which tore through the sails above, "Squalls comin indeed, but tis strange to find it tackin against the wind…" "That's not a storm, it's an island. We're drawing near the Island of Lost Souls, a haunted forsaken place. I've known no one to have set foot on it and survived. It's dangerous for seamen anyhow; coral reefs." Suddenly he noticed the sails hanging loose and looking backwards saw dark, ominous clouds gathering quickly on the border of the sea. "Take down every rag of sails!" bellowed Navarre at his unruly men who quickly scurried up the masts to obey. Squalls came quickly and with the ferocious wind which had been blowing, this one would be no exception. "William," a man ventured walking up, "The men want to know if we're going to keep following that ship… " "I've given them an answer many times Joshua," Navarre began sternly, "and it hasn't changed. We follow that ship as long as we can! Granted, in this storm that won't be long; tell that to the men." "Aye, we won't follow it long, Navarre," his retreating brother muttered under his breath. Meanwhile Navarre mused on the happenings of the disastrous voyage thus far. It had begun well; Navarre's three ship ravaged the dead queen's scattered forts and had sunk many of her vessels. All had been prospering and they were heading down the coast as planned when a mysterious storm blew up and separated Navarre's flagship from the others and carried them far off the coast. After the storm blew itself out in fury on the ship, battering it till it could barely float, the lookout spotted another of the queen's ships. The men, though, were now tired of the chase and the mercenaries from The Shade were in a mutinous condition their pays being in arrear. Therefore Navarre desired to leave the enemy ship alone but his brother urged him to follow the ship and he reluctantly allowed it. Once he had agreed, however, he took it up right heartily and despite all the resentment of his men he pressed on following the strange ship which they had as yet not gained on in the least, but not lost either. This only made Navarre the more inflexible, and he pursued the deceptive ship with fury, thus it was that he now found himself surrounded by a mutinous crew, with a storm brewing up behind him and an antagonizing ship in front of him. The voices of the crew recalled him from his dreary reverie. The idle men were now gathered in small groups talking threateningly. Navarre frowned, "There are still men loyal to you on this ship Navarre," he heard his brothers voice behind him. "Yes," he continued his voice growing harder, "that's why you won't be alone on that island." The men gathered together now and brandished their weapons, two of them walking forward leading the few men who were still loyal into a small boat, "Your turn, Navarre!" one of the men called. Joshua nodded, "there are some provisions in the boat, but in this storm you shain't need them," he laughed cruelly. "Brother," Navarre pulled his axe out but the men waved their weapons menacingly, "Oh, you needn't call me your brother Navarre!" Joshua returned, "Because I'm not!" By now Navarre was in the small rowboat with his two faithful hands, he wondered what Joshua meant, but his thoughts were interupted. "This ain't no natural mutiny Navarre," Ralincler whispered to him, "Ay, an mark me, I've seen-" a sudden jolt stopped him, the cord binding them to the ship was severed and the small boat wildly rocked on the waves as Joshua and the mutineers watched over the bow of the longboat. Slowly the raft bearing their former captain floated out of view into the dense clouds that now gathered round the ship. Joshua turned to the men, "All hands on deck!" -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Whew! It's been too long since we last saw Navarre, thing are heating up in his story btw . More shots on flickr. Hope you enjoy! C&C are welcome!

Amazing MOCs here josdu, especially love the dragon MOC, very creative . I really like the format of how you've kept all you LoR MOCs in a single thread so the story of the characters is easy to read through. I was maybe thinking of doing the same style of thread for my own LoR character MOCs and was wondering if from you'd recommend it after using it for your character from the beginning?

Amazing MOCs here josdu, especially love the dragon MOC, very creative . I really like the format of how you've kept all you LoR MOCs in a single thread so the story of the characters is easy to read through. I was maybe thinking of doing the same style of thread for my own LoR character MOCs and was wondering if from you'd recommend it after using it for your character from the beginning? Thanks man! Well... kinda, I like it to keep track of everything, but sadly I get a lot less comments then I otherwise would. Anyway, here is the next update: The Hunter's Lair The sun slowly set over the jagged peaks of the Necrosis mountains. A pair of men engaged in conversation approached a dwelling on those mountains whose roof appeared to badly need repairs. "Aye," the one began, "no one ever has been known to go to his lodge, for they think he uses magic in his art of hunting. But I know him, and he's never used magic that I've seen, though he's a plenty fine shot for that. I've seen him bring down his prey from nearly that far away!" and he pointed to a distant deer leaping into the forest. By now, however, they had reached the house, so Keeler did not deign to reply. Meanwhile the hunter himself came out and invited them into his lair, "What have you come for?" he asked gruffly. "I am simply stopping on my way to our swamps," Keeler replied, "we figured you'd have the latest news too. They say Baron Locklear gathered all the nobles to discuss things: would you happen to know what the results were?" "Ah, yes, that is, they've finished it, as to knowing what has passed…" Keeler flipped a gold coin to him. The hunter grabbed it and continued, "Hmm, very well. Of course, all this is rumors only, but they say that we shall keep to ourselves and let Loreos and Lenfald fight, but the majority appear to wish Lenfald the victory, whether the justice of their cause has been considered I doubt though; Loreesi have always been less liked here in the badlands, doubtless because they are known better then the Lenfels here. Hah! Anyway, in addition, they say men are ill at ease under Locklear, outlaws naturally like to be their own masters, but as long as he molests not the more powerful lords I dare say they'll let him rule. Also, of course, many other trivial topics were discussed, including the movement, which it has been perceived the Lenfels have given themselves over to, undoubtedly due to the civil war. Now there," he waved his hand, "that is all I know." After a few more glasses of wine Keeler went on his way, the guard who had accompanied him staying behind talking keenly to the hunter, who shot a suspicious glance at Keeler's retreating back. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Hope you enjoy it! More picture's on flickr of course!

josdu, I really really like this one. The textures are great and that is a cool, slightly whimsical roof and chimney. I would think the reason no one visits the hunter might be all the skulls in his yard but I guess you wouldn't be in the badlands anyway if that kind of thing disturbed you. I think this build is my favorite thing I have seen from you. Good work, you filthy criminal.
