First one: The Meeting! by W. Navarre, on Flickr The Meeting! by W. Navarre, on Flickr The next day Navarre and his Generals, with the exception of Areneas and Ralincler, met in a private chamber to conference with the Queens envoy. “The queen promises that should you join the dragons you will receive not only your own castle and estates but other more broad domains near your own and in Loreos. What say you?” “You know the queen is lying through her teeth or at least this fellow is!” blurted the Garheim representative (in name only, for though a Garheim he had been outlawed and joined Navarre long ago). “Besides the Queen is a broken reed to lean on, she will soon lose her last grip on the continents.” remarked Keeler. “Sir!” Scowled the envoy, “These men know nothing! The queen was never closer to her goal then now!” “True, true, but that is only because she never was close at all!” A laugh went around as a greater frown appeared on the ambassador face. “It is all true!” he continued, “The queen is very merciful! She will return your castle to you immediately if-” Suddenly the door opened. Navarre stood up “Areneas! Why do you interrupt us? Is your news important?” “Yes. That man is lying! By now there is no castle of your to give you.” He paused. “Raltworth is completely leveled to the ground!” “Death to the queen and her envoy!” went up the shout as the men dragged the ambassador out the door. “But it’s not true! She’ll give you one much larger! She’ll giv-mph!” “Now, what else?” asked Navarre. “As I said Raltworth is no more for the queen could not keep hold of it and needed more men up here in the north. As for the other business, we could only rally one hundred of your best men and the clans which some of us used to be a part of wished for your presence. They could furnish another hundred picked men as mercenaries at a low pay.” “Thank you!” replied Navarre, “Now that we know this we can make plans.” After some talk Navarre said, “This is what we shall do men: I will travel down to the shade as quickly as possible and return with the clans while you men build three fast longboats. Then, we shall sail down to Grahnhaven and cruise along the coast there carrying fire and sword through the land to root out the queen giving battle to any reinforcements and provision coming by sea. Thereafter by sailing up doing the same thing we shall loop around at the Gulf of Fishes and sail down as far as Fort Quagmire.” “But then my lord we shall have to travel through the King’s water which right now is a very dangerous place and the Sea of Despair AND the Sea of Treachery! Do you not think it a bit much?” asked Williams brother Joshua. “Indeed I do not. Any more comments? Now I call this meeting to a close. Tomorrow I leave with Areneas.” -------------------------------------------------------------------------- C&C are definitely welcome!

Next development: The Shadow Sinicals! by W. Navarre, on Flickr As soon as Navarre arrived at the shade he rapidly met up with Ralincler who had stayed behind and the next day traveled alone to where a portion of the clan he was in search was at the moment. After some bargaining the amount he would pay them for their service, which was that he would give them now a quarter of their pay for three months and the other quarter when they were out of the city with one hundred men and that at the end of the three months he would pay the other half, was agreed to. If he needed them more it could be arranged later. “Now that is done,” said the man “I will send messengers to the other groups to join us outside of the city. We ourselves shall have to get out by means of one of the many reservoirs, part of which we control. We may have a scrape with another clan however…” -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Also my entry to our LC! C&C are appreciated !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

And next part of the story: Flight out of the City! Flight out of the City! by W. Navarre, on Flickr Flight out of the City! by W. Navarre, on Flickr Quickly hurrying through the secret tunnel, which was filled with seaweed and bones and such, the clan reached the dangerous part. Two of the men crept around the corner. As they did so a sentry gave a shout! As the two engaged the gaurd, Navarre and the others rushed up the stairs leading to the end of the underground sewer. The first ones pulled down the trapdoors and rushed into the house occupied by the other clan. Taken by complete surprise the clan scattered however the Sinicals were upon them in an instant and they made a last stand near the door. A short but furious contest ensued but only one could be victorious! As soon as the Sinicals had seen the last of them turn their backs they scattered throughout the house in search of plunder. All found in the house were killed if they resisted. Then the group laden with the loot escaped from the city by a hidden path leading them to the agreed place. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Check my photostream on flickr for fully detailed interior! The Outlaws Feast! (Main) by W. Navarre, on Flickr The Trap Door (open) by W. Navarre, on Flickr After climbing up the toilsome path for a few hours they reached the spot where the others would soon be and began to prepare supper. Now, you must know supper is cooked in a most strange way by most outlaws and as the process is interesting we will describe it to you. First the men look around for something. Ah it is a trap door! Now after lowering a rope they carry down a kettle whose contents is probably know only to the newly made, and I may add unhappy, cook. At the bottom of the rope the kitchen is revealed in nothing more or less than boiling lava cave! The unfortunate cook puts the kettle on a rock and balancing himself on top begins to stir the stew. Meanwhile his partner takes the chicken legs and roasts them over the molten rock simultaneously dropping the pie into it (the lava)! This set the cook laughing and, combined with the fact that the stew is over boiling, makes him jump in the air and cling to the rope just lowered so the food could be brought up. By now the assistant had fished out the pie and declared it cooked so the food was brought up and while the cook went back down to prepare more the feast began as the others had by then arrived. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Next part!! Btw the second picture is a trapdoor.

Thanks Erathor! Here is an update: The Shepard's Cottage.
The Shepard's Cottage. by W. Navarre, on Flickr For some days now Navarre, Keeler, Jackson, and Areneas had been traveling back north. The Sinicals were going to follow soon after. All kinds of rumors were afloat, some said that Maldrake had been bearded in his den, other that he had used magic to destroy the whole of the allied forces, and… Navarre thought the latter more probable. One day as they were descending a mountain they met a shepherd. "Would you be so kind as to conduct us to your dwelling?" asked Navarre. "Fine, it is just a little ways down the slope sir." he responded. "He calls this just a slope?" muttered Keeler as they toiled down the narrow mountain path, fit, according to Keeler idea at least, only for sheep and goats. Soon a quaint little cottage came into view. "That is our abode sir." said the Shepard as he stepped aside to let them pass. As they did so a man who looked like a Lenfel Scout Sniper came rapidly around the corner. "I have news of the battle!" he cried, "Maldrake has been defeated in his own lair!" "So it is true? I wish I could have been there!" responded Navarre, "How did it happen?" "My friend," the farmer interrupted them "perhaps you would like to come inside and tell us over a cup of tea?" As no one objected, they all filled into the small cottage. Then the man who was indeed a Scout Sniper related the details of the whole siege of Maldrake's fortress, not, however, without a few interruptions. When he had ended Areneas said "Well, well, I suppose the tyrants is almost overthrown and," he added, "I have had no part in it!" "Not so fast," replied Navarre, "the queen is still sitting on her throne, and if I am not mistaken, you will strike a blow for freedom yet!" Followed by a Garhim "looks like he already has!" Which indeed was true. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- My entry to the res. GC. Sorry that the build isn't all that good, but I only have a little of my collection with me ATM. C & C are welcome!

Wow! I just noticed there is only one comment that isn't mine! Does anyone even look? Anyway, here is the next one: A Desperate Charge A Desperate Charge! by W. Navarre, on Flickr One day, after they had been traveling through Lenfald for some time, Navarre lagged behind the rest deep in thought. Suddenly as he trotted round a corner, he saw a small group of dragon knights step out of the woods onto the path. "Stragglers?" thought Navarre, "No, see! They have some provisions, stolen most likely. They seem to be foragers!" He thought all this quite fast, and so that the men had just noticed him as he quickly lowered his visor so none could recognize him. "Nice work men!" he said as he bravely rode up, hoping to appear as one of the queens officers, "I see we shain't go hungry for now!" However, one of the men had recognized him, "He's a traitor! I'll get you back yet Navarre!" "Cain! The fools must have let him escape!" William muttered, Cain had been the queens envoy to him a while back. However, Navarre only responded him, "Ha! Well you won't escape me again!" "Or is it the other way about?" mocked the man, "I'm the one who has you trapped!" Cain quickly gave an order and his men positioned themselves with a row of spears facing Navarre. "Oh? Really?" asked Navarre and turning his horse, he trotted slowly away. "Don't let the traitor escape!" exclaimed Cain, and his men began a unmanageable pursuit. Suddenly Navarre wheeled about and charged then now disordered troops! Trampling one, he dispatched another who lunged at him with the mans own knife, meanwhile, however, Cain leaped on the horses back, Navarre slashed at a soldier who held the horses bridle and then turned to deal with Cain. Their knives clashed together, but Navarre was the better swordsman and he swiftly dealt the man a tremendous blow on his side and he tumbled off a senseless mass. By now Navarre was free of the yelling mass of men, and he hurriedly galloped on down the narrow path. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- My entry to the GC vig of course. Just because what is left of the queen's forces our broken and retreating doesn't mean that they can't get in peoples way. C&C are welcome (though thankfully not necessary ) !

The way you positioned them around Navarre's steed really shows the action in the story. Great job!

The way you positioned them around Navarre's steed really shows the action in the story. Great job! Thanks! Here is the next installment everyone: Watch out for that... tent! by W. Navarre, on Flickr Watch out for that... tent! by W. Navarre, on Flickr Watch out for that... tent! by W. Navarre, on Flickr Meanwhile, Navarre's friends had stumbled across a small camp made of the meeting up of some of Maldrake's scattered forces, and though because they did not wish to embroil themselves with a force somewhat larger then their own they did not get close, they did do a little spying. "Looks like someone is important enough to get a tent…" muttered Jackson. "Maybe we could bring it down around their very ears!" suggested Areneas, and since no one disputed the point they stole around the careless guards and Keeler looked around the corner of the tent. After looking for a bit he returned to the rest grinning. "He did our work himself!" he told them, "But we better get moving soon." While he was speaking there was a muffled cry and Jackson said "There's one less tent in the world now!" as the tent slowly collapsed "but what happened, Keeler?" . By now they were walking quickly away from the now noisy camp and Keeler answered, "Just as I looked around the corner a crazy knight was walking into the tent. I was about to turn around when I heard a rending noise, and looking up, I saw the man had walked his battle ax right into the top of the tent! Well, I bet he's getting it pretty hot!" he continued chuckling. Suddenly Navarre rode around a bend in the trail and but an abrupt end to the laughter. Now they were almost to Guarmals castle so they hurried forward. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Just a freebuild for November and an entry to the CCC (XII). C&C are welcome !

Sorry to double post, not to mention that this threads been a little inactive, but here is the next stage: Assassin? by W. Navarre, on Flickr Navarre slowly walked down the narrow winding path back towards the castle. The longships were nearly done and he was looking forward to leaving Garheim, but though he new it not, a dark shadowy figure dogged his steps.
