Hi all I was wondering if there are any cool castle builds on Lego Ideas. I have not seen anything realistic worth supporting, and that's a shame. It would be a nice way to get out an extra castle set.
I suggest that all the great builders from merlins beard consider how a castle set should look like to be released via lego ideas .... and build it. Maybe we should even host a lego ideas castle contest, to make the cool castle builder do their stuff.

I've been thinking about this, and maybe designing a cool project in the castle theme. However, I'm not gonna rush into it, as you can see that all successful projects have taken a lot of time to design and build. If I ever make a MOC I'm really happy with and could change so it's suitable for LEGO Ideas, I'll do it!

It wouldn't be a bad idea Ben. We could use some more castle sets and frankly Lego doesn't seem too interested in producing more for us hungry fans.

Star Wars, chima, and ninjago outsell castle by a long shot; which is definately why they make way more sets for those themes. That being said, castle has been around forever and it is synonymous with lego IMO, so at least they will keep pumping them out (eventually).
Anyways, I think you should totally go for it!

Those themes only sell more on the same token that they have more sets. Its simple visibility marketing. The more you have of variety the more interest is generated.
However, to be more correct about this...the only reason I understand from Lego staffers and VP's is that Castle draws away attention from Lord of the Rings and Hobbit sets. It was the same logic they used when they released the Pirates of the Caribbean sets to basically cut off the come back of the Pirate theme. Which is sorely missed.

This may now be a castle, but I've got a posable knight figure on there. At least it's something, and if he gets made into a set, you can break him down into useful castle parts Here is the link to support: ideas.lego.com/projects/75492

Brickninja >> Nice figure
It would also be interesting to discuss how a castle build should look like to make the cut.

I've seen lately these on Flickr. Not sure if they are on ideas yet.

mattiusxavier They look amazing! I'm having a bit of a tinker with some bricks right now, seeing if I come up with anything cool. I'm not really trying to build something as such, just testing possible techniques. I feel really inspired!
