Hello everyone, I am very new to this game. There is a lot of information and even a slight overlapping between this site and CC- so things are a bit confusing especially for someone who doesn't, at the moment, have an incredible excess of time to sort through all of the information. I have a few questions that I could use some help with. I would very much enjoy joining a faction (as long as this game is still going strong), but I'm starting to rebuild my lego collection from nothing. Thus, at the moment all I would have is interest in this game and ideas...Am I allowed to just pick a faction and list such in the "info and sign up" thread? Please let me know if that is alright and perhaps anything else mandatory...Also, assuming I can just join and everyone is alright with that...what steps do I take next once I've joined? (aside from beginning my collection based around the army I'm now a part of...) I would really prefer to base my army around a lion knight meets "red soldier knights kingdom" sort of group, or a barbarian maybe outlaw type of forest dwelling sort of group---maybe just let me know what sort of faction either of those may belong to because thinking of what I wanted I'm really not sure which of those four factions would be the best fit, and I REALLY don't want to start collecting only to find out that I am not correctly representing the faction I join. Id like to do things the right way to fit in best with whatever faction I belong to...thanks for your time...

Brian first of all welcome. Most of your questions can be answered by reading the global storyline, and LOR frequintly asked questions. Ak will probably post a link to those for me as I am mobile at the moment.
Now as to which faction that is entirely up to you. I to am building my colection and am into forestmen. Now I could have joined lenfeld but I decided to be an outlaw ultimitly. My reasons were simple. The outlaws didnt have as many members and it fit my charicters story line better.
Read thru the global story line and the FAQs and you will be off to.a.good start. Again welcome an enjoy your stay.

Here is the link to the LoR general info thread: merlins-beard.com/thread/3/lor-general-information-useful-linksI recommend reading the global storyline, which is linked in the above thread. As for which faction to join, I suggest simply scanning the first post of each official faction thread (these links are also provided in the above-linked thread). Garheim is a frozen Scandinavian / Viking influenced faction. Their main color is blue. Lenfald is a Western-European influenced faction (think medieval France and England). Their main color is green. Loreos is a Eastern Europe / middle eastern influenced faction. Their main color is red. Outlaws are a mixed bag, but are generally more rag-tag and are based out of swamps and magic. Their main color is black. That's a very at-a-glance view. Please be sure to click through the useful links of the thread I've provided above for more info.

Thank you so much for the replies, it literally took me at least twenty minutes to find where I even posted this thread! I'm new and even navigating the site is rather difficult at the moment...I will do some reading of the links, gather some more background information, and then of course make my decision. Currently im stuck between the glory of creating an armored empire of foot soldiers, and a forest dwelling rebel army...Any and all feedback is more than appreciated, both for swaying my opinion into a kingdom (afterall isn't that the nature of empire building? drawing more power to your side) and welcoming me as you already have, which is very much appreciated-thanks.

I'm a transplant from Guilds of Historica. I'm in Mitgardia over there and don't want to cross-post the same builds as some do. I'd like to join up with a faction that has a different style to give me a chance to experiment with other styles and themes. Problem is, I'm not sure who to join because Loreos seems to have a very large membership. Any recommendations, fellows?

Join Garheim. We are fairly low on members, and although we have a somewhat similar style to Mitgardia, we have different colors and we are really in need of members.

I appreciate the invitation but Garheim is kind of both first and last on my list, if you know what I mean. I'm actually leaning toward the Outlaws right now. It's very tough to decide here, much tougher than it was on GoH.

if you don't join Garheim, I agree with you to definitely join Outlaws. They are falling way behind and need all the help they can get.

My only issue there is that Outlaws, as a faction, seems to lack focus. That's supposed to be their appeal, I suppose. The Faction for Lone Wolves sorta thing. But at the same time, I can see why they aren't producing as much as the other factions which are more clearly bound together with common themes and culture. I think if I go Outlaws, I'd just wind up doing builds in other Factions' territory anyway.

However, even if you show your character in another land, if it's for a Global challenge, it's still earning points for the Outlaws, and they sure do need them. Honestly, I think it could be kinda fun to make creepy forests, barren wastelands, and magical swamps.

I won't be able to post an Intro build until later this weekend so I have time to think about it at any rate. Glad there was someone around to add their $0.02 so thanks, mate.

Honestly yes we outlaws are in need of new blood as it were. Alot of us are busy and dont get to post much cause we cant get builds done, becaude of real life. Yes you can havr your charecter in other lands as an outlaw. Mine is in the lenfeld forest most times for example. So it is reallr up to you guys as to where you want to go. Bit most impoltantly have fun!

The outlaws recently switched up their leadership as well and I think in the near future they will be more structured, or at least that will be a viable option that wasnt really previously available. For example, they only recently were assigned a standard army (the Queen's Dragon Knights), so there is a lot of room for storyline development there. Also, they really are simply lacking the same number of highly active members over there, so I think that contributes to the overall seeming lack of activity.

Hi, welcome to the Lands of Roawia! The important thing to remember - well, two things but I'll get to that - is that no matter which faction you choose, each realm has a bit of elasticity with its terrain. Garheim is a mostly arctic region, but the south is more forested and many areas are like the plains of Rohan from J.R.R. Tolkien's Lord of the Rings series. Lenfald is predominantly forested but it, too, has mountain ranges and open plains. Loreos is mostly arid - deserts and dry grasslands - but it has tropical areas of lush vegetation and even a few mountains as well. Any faction can be bent to fit your building style, to an extent. That said, Garheim and the Outlaws are low on active members. Outlaws are cool and all but you're better off just joining Garheim We're in a bit of a pickle with the Usurper Queen Galainir's troops at the moment but our spirit won't be broken! With a little help we could become one of the biggest factions, and not just the best
