I believe this is the correct section for something like this, and if not, I hope the proper authorities will move it to where it belongs or to where this will be seen. As the subject mentions, one of our follow community members, Ash / acrosswaves, recently lost their LEGO collection to some of the disastrous weather events occurring in the Philippines this year. He made mention of his family's misfortune here. Having known loss of all sorts under myriad circumstances, I felt something in regards to his dilemma. While I cannot replace his home, I can replace some of his collection. With that said, I plan to begin putting a box together of parts and minifigures to send his way. I will be looking to ship somewhere between the last week of August and the first week of September (in three to four weeks). I invite anyone willing or interested in aiding a fellow fan of LEGO to send something his way, via directly or through me with a personalized note which I will pack away along with my own gift. Even the smallest contribution of parts or minifigs is sure to go an incredibly long way considering his loss of everything, and as the great community I know us to be I think it's a small gesture and the least we can do. I thank all of you for your time regarding this matter.

Not to be a downer about this, but are you in contact with him enough to know that he even has a place to put a shipment of LEGO if one were sent to him? If he's back to having a roof over his head and can accommodate some replacements, what kind of themes is he into? From his Flickr stream it looks like maybe a mix of castle and space?

I don't think your questions are a downer at all.
Prior to my posts, I contacted him with the same question of where something could be received at. He has not responded yet, but that is why I didn't intend to ship anything for a few weeks. This was more of a broadcast message and to get the wheels of consideration turning. I suppose assuming is hazardous, but I thought it a safe bet that he would prioritize shelter before informing the online community as to his situation.
Regarding themes, I am putting together parts that I recognize from his MOCs -- mostly Castle-related things with a few classic Blacktron. However, having lost everything, I cannot imagine anyone would be picky as to what is received.
I will ask him all of the above though, and link him to this thread in case more questions or concerns arise.

I have a box prepped so once you get confirmation that he can receive a package, I will send it your way!

Wow! Thank you guys! I do appreciate your concern but there is no need to send me stuff really. Yes, my collection of classic castle was washed out totally and lost in a flash flood awhile back but I do think I can manage. Dont wori guys, i will build back just like lego. I thank you for your assistance but I dont want to create a hassle or fuzz for everyone. No worries. Thanks to Bronx who started this thread and to everyone who showed concern. Again, there is no need to send me anything. Many thanks for this great great grand gesture of chivalry from all of you knights! Thanks friends. Acrosswaves
