I believe ludzik is right. In my experience anything international needs to be dropped of at the post office. They usually ask you what the contents are.

Yep any international shipping I have had to fill customs forms for is a hand over for proper stamps and declaration of contents.

Yep any international shipping I have had to fill customs forms for is a hand over for proper stamps and declaration of contents. Alright. Thanks. I will be shipping Yorick and lilcurt's parts out tomorrow (after class), and hopefully I can get the others' out by Sunday (except Gideon's). Although, I have three (very difficult) midterms next week and will be spending almost all of my weekend studying. Update coming tomorrow. Also, to save time, I am putting all the un-bagged lots for each participant in there gallon bag. That way I don't have to spend time adding all the parts to each lot's individual bag. Once you have received the parts, if you are missing anything please PM and I will replace any missing parts, free of charge. Thanks. ~RBC

Sounds good that no one else's delivery gets delayed just because I wanted to get some printed stuff. I also rather get the printed banners I want than getting the parts before I have time to build with them anyway

RBC, any progress on getting packages shipped today? According to your post, Yorick's and Lilcurt's packages should have been sent yesterday. Are you still on track to get everyone else's sets (except Gideon) sent out tomorrow?

Hey guys,
We had a birthday party for my brother on Friday evening (which kind of surprised me), so I was unable to get Yorick and LilCurt's packages out. However, they are packed and ready to go (I can take a picture of them as proof if need be). I will throw them in the mailbox on the way to class tomorrow (if I have time, which I probably will) I studied ALL DAY LONG yesterday (Saturday) and will most likely do the same today (Sunday). Right now school comes first (and studying for my exams) however, after Wednesday I will be in the "home stretch" for school until final exams in December. I spent 3 hours on Friday packaging up stuff and only need a few hours of free time (which I don't have much if any of right now) to make the final push towards the "finish line".
I am making significant progress, and will post another update on Thursday!

RBC... you have got to be kidding.... I am going to put on my managerial hat because with this approach you will nor survive in the work force...
For starters even though this is for fun, because you took upon yourself the responsibility of running it, lets face it.... you took on a job. Any job requires time management, being able to shuffle things and adjust to schedules, being able to communicate milestone achievements as well as slipping schedule. You have done none of that in a responsible fashion. You notify us of a slip when someone calls on you and asks whether you have done what you promised. I know this is harsh and it is done in a public forum but your actions affect a group of people.
Remember when I as me you to look at your schedule and make commitments that you can keep? You kind of missed the point...
Anyways I would love to get the shipment sometime in the near future and while I was the first ask I about pictures and I understand that they take time and do not want to delay anything with them I would love to see "proof of life". What does that mean? It means I would like to see something that indicates where you're at. Whether it is a picture of someones sorted loot thats ready to be shipped (stuff coil be in baggie but it would be good to be able to somewhat identify what is in the baggie ) or a pic or two of the sorted out elements. or anything that indicates that there is a chance we will see our shipments within a week. Oh yeah with a flickr app on the phone you can take a pic, upload to album in about 2 minutes. Then let us know to check your stream for updates so that you don't have to waste time generating and posting it.
Btw just so you don't think I'm unfair to you.... I worked 40 hours a week while work in full time on my undergrad degree in CS and then later on I did masters at 3/4 schedule with a full time job and a 3 hour total commute to work.... so yeah I understand what you are going through but I do not comprehend why you're so bad at communicating, planning and scheduling. First one or two oopses... ok learning experience but the rest? As soon as you knew that the items didn't go out as promised on Friday you should have notified everyone..... and I'd be surprised if there wasn't a mail drop someplace on your campus... actually couple some places. I haven't seen a college yet without one....
now why managerial hat. At the previous company where I worked I made it a goal to hire new grads with a CS degree (someone gave me a chance fresh out of school and I wanted to return the favor). I have met loads of candidatesfrom which quite a few even though they got great grades they couldnt code worth of a dang.... then j had great coders that applied couple got jobs throughout the years but they couldnt hold schedules, couldnt communicate and kept saying. He we are on time. When you did project reviews with them they talked a great talk..... after missing couple deadlines and being told about necessity of communication one was fired. His poor communication and lack of performance caused trouble and even though when he finally wrote code it was very good, sadly it was late and caused other item to slip. You figure that the other guy would learn... nope... different schools, they never met each othet before but same poor communication. Both of them could have had other resources assigned to them to help them out but on multiple assignments they talked a great talk and even during project review were able to fudge things that we had to code review with them at each milestone to verify progress... and that was costly. Anyways... second guy was let go after some time as well. Next guy hired was an ok developers by an amazing communicator. He is still at the company where I hired him. I changed jobs but I keep tabs on him because I might want to poach him.... bottom line - communication communication and good planning is a key to success.
So please start communicating better keeping to schedules YOU set and lets finish this .

So, is it safe to say that all packages will be shipped by Thursday, with the exception of Gideon's?
It is OK to say "no" if you can't do it by then, but I would like to know what your current timeline is.

It is OK to say "no" if you can't do it by then, but I would like to know what your current timeline is. I am going to say Friday evening, but definitely Saturday afternoon at the latest! That will give me an extra day- a day and a half to "wind" down" from nearly 40+ hours of studying over the last 4 days. ~RBC
