I have believe I have 5 left to sort. Just finished two, and will work on another two or so tonight. I forgot to order my copy of Dol Goldurr Ambush, but I just placed a TRU order. Any advice on rapid sorting? Sort all sets at the same time, go by bag instead of by set? That way you get more of each part to sort at a time, so less different part types at the same time.

This ^ If you have 5 sets but you only sort "Bag 1" for all 5 of them, you're only sorting maybe 15 different unique parts, and it goes much faster than completely sorting a couple sets at a time. My wife and I used this system when I ran the Uruk-hai Army draft, where I sorted all of "Bag 1" and she did all of "Bag 2" and it went really fast. At the end, you have to make sure that you check for duplicate lots if the same part happened to be in both bags, but that's pretty easy.

Rapid sorting? Do 2 or three of the same set at a time and sort like bags, IE all bag #1 from all sets at same time. Music definitly helps as well. As a side note, if you want to put in extras just put in what ever you feel, be it cmf, custom capes, or extra lego from your stash. It is really your call. I ment to say this earlier but Thank you to Gideon, without your spread sheet this would have taken a bit more time to iron out the details, Thank you to Excalibur for staying on top of your Picks as well as halping with Yoricks remaining Picks, And thanks to ludzik for staying on top of your Picks as well. Rbc Please keep everyone posted on status of sort, and stay on top of your picks. I understand your time constraints but please also make this a priority now that The picks are finished

My tip for rapid same set sorting is to find the same bag from all the sets. So for example, find the same bag labeled #2 from each of the Dol Goldurr Ambush and create a pile from each of that same bag. Then when you pull out a piece you can pull the same number from each of the bags and when place them all into the same container. This is huge time saver. Looks like I did not see Lilcurt gave the same advise. Sorry - regardless the advice stands.

Finished sorting two more sets. 2-3 sets to go. 2 Mirkwood and 1 Dol Gol dur.
I will take a preliminary picture of the lots sometime this weekend (probably on Sunday morning).

Sorting is going very good! About 1.5-2 sets to go. I have enough sorted to get a descent picture. Unfortunately, I have 13-14 hours of (college) classes today (and on Wednesday), but have a four day weekend (starting Thursday) because it's Fall Break for my university.
While I was sorting I discovered was about 1-2 sets short (1 Mirkwood, and 1 Dol-Gul Dur), but I've ordered them, and they should arrive by Thursday (if not earlier). I will definitely be done sorting by Saturday, but possibly Friday or even Thursday evening. I am also being interviewed by Beyond the Brick on Thursday evening, so I might be a little distracted with that later this week.
I only have 1 class tomorrow, and will continue sorting all (late) tomorrow morning (at around 10:30AM onwards). Expect a picture of the current sorting situation sometime tomorrow (after 11:30AM EST).
I am definitely making HUGE strides, so that is a "+".

So to summarize you still have 1.5 to 2 sets to sort from the ones you have on hand and are short of 1 to 2 sets (is it 1 or is it 2?). Is that correct?
You should have 7 sets each, 14 sets total.

This needs to get wrapped up by the end of the week, please. The draft has been going for almost 2 months solid now (58 days). Pretty clear to me that allowing this to be a mega-draft was a mistake. Moving forward, there will be some rules in place with regard to how these are run so that things go more smoothly in future drafts.
Thanks to participants for your patience.

I don't think it was a mistake. I do think that we learned something though...that we need a dedicated person who did what Lilcurt did to make sure things moved faster. For that I appreciate what he did and would like to thank him too. Also Gideon (Jonas) who made a google spreadsheet which he shared with everyone. It was super effective and way more effective than the flickr page method. Its another lesson learned that I think would be important for the next Mega Draft.

Yes. I am waiting on the last two sets that I ordered to arrive. They are set to arrive tomorrow. In the mean time though, I will go ahead and part-out my own personal copies of Mirkwood and Dol-Guldur Ambush, from my personal collection. That way, once the last two sets arrive I can just replace my personal copies, instead of having to wait for them to arrive, to finish sorting.
I have everything else sorted out (but not all the sorted parts are bagged up yet). I am working on bagging up everything now, and will take a picture sometime tonight (or possibly in the morning). Here is the schedule for wrapping things up:
10/23/14 (today) - Finish up sorting/bagging lots, take pictures. 10/24/14 (Friday) - Take pictures of individuals' lots, and wrap up any loose ends with packaging up/organizing lots/sorting (if needed). 10/25/14 (Saturday) - Double-check the list and address all packages. SHIP PACKAGES TO DRAFT PARTICIPANTS! 10/26/14 (Sunday) - Extra "wrap-up"/shipping day (if needed)!
How does this sound?
