Not quite sure what to make of this. Just watch the video and discuss (respectfully) below.

I watched the video, and it looks like typical eco-freak propoganda to me. I don't understand how the simple act of kids playing with a Lego model that happens to have the Shell logo on it will 'pollute their minds'.

Lord Rolf Thrandr Agreed. I mean, there are some real problems in the world, but they choose to attack a kids toy company?

*Gasps* Oh no! LEGO, selling small car sets with the shell logo on it? The world, I... I think its starting to break at the seams, I can see the children, rising up, zombies of the oil corporations and.... Oh, no wait, that's completely ridiculous.
Greenpeace is lame, they've always been lame, and all they do nowadays is try and shame people into doing what Greenpeace thinks is best. I can't understand why some people have to go and try to destroy companies and such that they don't agree with- if they really dislike the oil companies, why don't they go and do something positive like donating money and supporting alternative fuel development, etc. All this is is mean-spirited and downright laughable. What are they going to do next, attack the Octan corporation? After all, I seem to remember their president trying to kraggle the world at some point...
I mean seriously? Like a kid's mind is going to be destroyed from a shell logo that was on a gas station lego set. I wish that I would find this surprising, but this kind of dumb stunt is becoming more and more common nowadays. For shame.

Like Lord Mercat said, I wish I was surprised, but I'm not. This kind of thing seems more and more prevalent these days. It's very sad.

Like I said before, it's stupid that they basically waste their time on this 'case'. I mean, I don't see it changing anything, and there are plenty more things they could take the time to worry about. Campaigning isn't enough: why don't they do something to counter the effects of oil extraction, as Lord Mercat said, and not just complain at people?

This shows in my view the world being flooded because of global warming which is caused by the burning of natural gas and oil which is then causing the oceans to rise and flooding the world! But this not proven to be as the world had higher temps in 1936-1938. This is just one mask which the government is using to start micro managing our lives!!(in my view)

I don't understand how the simple act of kids playing with a Lego model that happens to have the Shell logo on it will 'pollute their minds'. I'm sorry, but this kind of attitude is what allows giant companies such as shell, BP or other large oil/gas companies. To get away with massive pollution and destruction of the environment. While I don't always agree with Greenpeace's methods, they are a legitimate organization that has made a difference, and should not be mocked for this slip up. I don't really get the whole "pollute their minds" thing, maybe they think it is putting shell in a good light in the minds of children? I don't really know, but still they have a good message, even if they are going about spreading it the wrong way.

I cried, the video, it made me hurt, inside, like, all those legos, gone man, just ruined with oil, those whites will never be as white again, those polar bears ;( oh those poor polar bears could of been in a safe environment with me, delightfully ripping the throats out of lego figures, I could of given them the life man, dem feels.

Nowhere in the video did Greenpeace claim, provide evidence for, or site reports of Shell's polluting activities. They just implied that was Shell was evil, and so Lego should not make Shell branded sets. I didn't know that Shell had done anything wrong. So when I watched the video, all I saw the was the all to common message from enviromentalist groups like Greanpeace that all oil companies are inherently evil. It just seemed to be Greenpeace demonizing Shell.

Do 10 minutes of research on Shell and you'll see why they are a target for environmentalist groups.
While this video is pretty ridiculous (I agree with animmortal!) and I don't really care about the lego partnership with shell. However in my opinion it is a typical, over the top, publicity ploy to bring attention to the poor practices of oil companies. And I don't see anything wrong with that.
