Now this is probably me being a bit too pedantic, but aren't you an Applicant until your AI-III entries are submitted? I see a lot of Assassins Guild "Apprentices" appearing...

No, I think you are an applicant till you upload AI. Then you are an apprentice. But if I am wrong, please say so and I will remove the banner from my signature.
Edit: got this from the first post: Applicant - You haven't actually earned the right to join the guild yet, but will be listed as an "Applicant" once you submit your first Apprentice-level MOC.

I believe you are an applicant until you've completed the first three and then become rank of apprentice once said builds are comleted. You reach the rank you are building for after each set of tasks has been completed. Personally I dont think it really matters if they have the name tag, it's good to see interest in the new guilds so I guess thats all that matters. As long as they are following the rules about entering only 2 builds a month and are following the guidelines of each task, this doesnt break any rules and it would be silly to get on their case for a simple banner. It's not like they are putting themselves as masters. Dont worry though, the guildmasters know what ranking they are regardless of what they put themselve as, so I would say they are fine Carry on!! But for the record you arent the rank of what you're building for until all three tasks have been completed. Feel free to include the banner for whatever guild/rank you're building for because then it allows others to see you are doing guild builds and then it'll hopefully get more people building for it

These ranks require a good amount of effort and I think we should hold the privilege of displaying the banners a bit more in regard. Carry on, chaps!

Ok, so if I understand this correctly, I have to make all the Apprentice and Journyman's entries before I can call myself Journeyman? And then I have to complete the Master's entries and then I can call myself a master?

Assassins Guild A1 entry
Assassin's Guild A1 Entry by (Yorick) Will Hafner, on Flickr
The last thing Yorick remembered when he woke up was a blow on the side of the head, apparently knocking his hat off of his head. Sparrow remembered a little more, but neither of them had any idea where the last member of their little band went. What they didn't know, they guessed. Marvin was either killed or sold as a slave, why else would they be in a prison cell on a boat? They clearly lost the battle against the three dragon knights on the sea. The "captain" of the boat, well, the magician, as they later found out, peered over them in their cramped cell. "Looks like the Gladiators are awake! Don't worry about the old man with the weird helmet, he's elsewhere..." "Where'd he go?" asked Yorick. Apparently they were now gladiators for the queen. "It's none of your concern. Maldrake will have a great time watching you two fend for yourselves in his arena, the queen will unfortunately not be able to attend your final moments." A few of the Dragon knights chuckled, and one of them even pretended to drink from a goblet, and fell to the ground, while making choking sounds. The rest of them laughed even louder. "Well, when we get to the arena, you'll be missin' this little old cage." He walked off, and the remaining two companions started formulating a plan to escape... They eventually fell asleep in the cold cell, but they woke up as a painfully bright flew right over the boat. They then heard screaming and shouting coming from all of the Dragon Knights. "DRAGON!" Shouted the magician. Yorick and Sparrow sank low into the call, trying to stay as close to the floor as possible, attempting to evade the danger of the knights and the dragon. They heard one of the knights screech, and heard a loud crash on the boat. One of them was dead, but there were still more of them on the slave ship. A figure dropped from the dragon, and landed on the figurehead of the boat. They heard a battle cry, and a lout crunch, from a double-sided battle axe lodging itself in the skull of another knight. they heard more and more screams, and they then saw the magician rise off the ground, holding a golden lance and a scroll. He started to glow, and the lance shot forward, but the dragon quickly evaded it. The lock on their cage was then smashed to pieces by the figure with the double-handed axe. Yorick and Sparrow quickly got out of the cage, but the Magician cast a spell, launching them, and the rest of the knights to the side of the ship. As Yorick looked over to Sparrow, he saw a blank expression in his eyes, and then looked a little bit lower down his friend's body. A spear was jabbed right through his sternum, piercing him in the lungs. The hilt of a sword was protruding out of the left middle of his chest, right where his heart was moments ago. As the warlock flew through the night, he heard a faint yell from behind him. "I'LL KILL YOU FOR WHAT YOU DID!" That jester wouldn't ever kill him, the magician thought... The figure with the axe got back on to the dragon, and grabbed two large sacks out of the saddle. He put Sparrow's body in one of the sacks, and hit Yorick in the back of the head, and put him in the sack too. Yorick woke in the early morning on the mainland with a sore head. As he looked to his right, he saw a bloody sack, and remembered his promise to kill the warlock...

My A2 entry for the Assassins' Guild. Not quite an apprentice yet -+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-The Butcher of Jahrton-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+- I shoved off from the little camp by the river and headed downstream as the last rays of the setting sun winked out on the horizon, painting the clouds pink and purple. My vessel was a rowboat - small, unobtrusive, silent; it bore no sails but the voyage wasn't far. By nightfall I'd seen the lights of Jahrton. I left the river before the mouth of the bay, where the fresh meltwater of the White River dumps into the sea, and headed down the tributary that led to into town. In accordance with our deal, the harbor master had left the portcullis open and I slipped my rowboat beneath the rusted spikes - barnacles dripping above me - and made my way down the twisting canals and waterways that led through the part of Jahrton known as Dockside. Sometime after seven, I reached my destination : Riverfront Fishery - a warehouse used for storing and selling what the fishmongers sling on the piers during the day - and anchored my vessel on a small outcrop of land. Picking the lock was easy enough; four tumblers was child's play. Getting past the guards went easier than expected, too, sneaking past barrels of salted seafood, although I heard a great deal about a psychopath known as "The Butcher" - a sellsword said to be leading the mercenaries who was wont to hack off body parts of his hirelings and cook them for the rest of the crew. I crept up the stairs, readying my dagger as I did; Ferwin's room was on the left. "Top of the stairs, on the left," the dockhand had said. "There you'll find Ferwin Exiph, him who yer lookin for." The door was unlocked and I eased open, sweat beading on my brow. It wouldn't be long now and my dagger would be in his chest - or across his throat, depending on how much of a struggle he put up. "Who knows," I thought. "He might be aslee-" WHAM!!! The cleaver stuck in the wood of the doorframe, inches above my head. I leaped to the right, rolling as I landed, and jerked to a stop as the cleaver stuck in the bedpost behind me. "We got hot pies tonight, boys!" the Butcher yelled, yanking the giant cleaver free. He was immense - grotesquely fat - hair plastered to his head by sweat and grime, bloodstained chefs outfit ripping at the seams and patched with what looked like leather. "Yessir, hot pies and onions!" It wasn't Ferwin - he'd been tipped off, it seemed, and The Butcher of Jahrton was in his place. "Last time I trust a dockhand", I thought. At least he didn't know who to warn them about as I had kept my face scarved and masked. I glanced around the room for something, anything I could fight this monster with; my dagger would bring me too close to my target and I didn't want to get anywhere near that cleaver. It was too late, though, and the Butcher was on me in seconds, cleaver slashing left and right, a maniacal look on the his face. My hand shot out, grabbing for the first solid object I could find, and closed on the cold steel chain of a small anchor. Using all of my strength, I swung the anchor around my head once then whipped it into the face of my attacker, knocking him backwards into a pile of sackcloth. Not wanting to push my advantage or stay long enough to be recognized, I stabbed the hook of the anchor into a nearby table, grabbed the chain, and leaped out the window, swinging down to the docks below. -+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+- Comments and Criticism welcome! Two Merchants Guild builds for August. Merchants Guild was the obvious decision as my character is a merchant (at least until recent events). So these builds is a start of fleshing out his background. Merchants Guild Apprentice 1Haydar Khaldoon with two of his camels transporting goods along a dusty Loreos trail. Merchants Guild Apprentice 2Haydar Khaldoon buying goods at a market. The first build was mostly an experiment with the landscaping colors and with the camel loads, and the second build originated in an experiment with the canopy design.
