Heroes Guild Master's Build 3 - The Final TestKroth Stonegrinder arrived at the site of the final challenge for his squire. After today, Lanseril Snowmantle will be a knight of Garheim. The test a timed test that the challenger must overcome four challenges in less than 60 seconds. He must shoot a bullseye from across the course, make it through the mud pit and over the net wall and then defend himself against a mock charge of a knight with a lance. A test of endurance and skill. This is the hard time for the trainer - Kroth knows that Lanseril is the ready for this challenge but like mother bird he needs to push him out of the nest. The Final Test (Overview) The Final Test (Observation Area and Target) The Final Test (Rear View)I have been struggling (in my head) with this build for two years - finally I can complete the Master Hero Guild! sir Kejtar - Mages Guild - Apprentice - 3 As sir Kejtar has been becoming more and more aware of his skills he was going through all of the old books that spoke about the healing powers and other various skills associated with his new discovered power. One of the books mentioned the crevice of power. It seems that one of the mountains on his lands has a rock formation that when appropriately stimulated with healing spells would glow all sorts of colors. This was supposed to be how the teachers of old verified that the mage initiates were skilled enough to start practicing their healing craft on actual patients. His curiosity piqued, he did more research and learned that there were three skills required to pass the test against the wall. He studied the incantations which was not easy as the necessary inflections were hard to learn from books but he was not one to give up easily. After months of practice and study his fourth attempt at the rock formation he saw blue lightning stretch out from his fingers and tickle the wall gently. He felt a sense of accomplishment as he was rewarded with a slow glow which spread through the crevice in the rocks. This was a welcome sign as well as a disturbing one. Now that he knew that he could do it, he realized that with that came a very big responsibility as trying to heal someone who was gone to far could have fatal repercussions as even with magic there is a certain balance that cannot be broken. If a dying man was healed and brought back from the edge of a grave magic would take another life to keep the balance in check......

Merchants Guild – Apprentice 1 – Acquiring Transportation
The First Step to Freedom
After her recent voyage to New Lenfald and her trip to the CRASH Games held in Northeast Loreos, Caelyan Nagatomi, Needlewoman, is not content to stay in Ainesford and run her shop. She is ready for some adventures on the open road. To accomplish this she commissions a local carpenter to build a wagon to her specifications. These include long shelves for bolts and rolls of fabric and small compartments for the tools of her trade. Pins, needles, thread, scissors, and tape measure will all have their own special compartment. Caelyan also hires a teamster to drive her new wagon as she will be riding her black mare, Ezeria. Ruthren is a friend who used to drive for one of the local merchants, but all the merchants of Ainesford are sending fewer wagons south due to the high tariffs and so he is out of work.

Masons Guild Apprentice Build 3 - The MillKroth returns to the location of the mill. After getting a tour from the very excited owner Kroth and the owner shake hands on a successful project. Kroth is thrilled that grain will be able to be produced locally again, which will be a big boost to the local economy. Comments and criticism are welcome.

Mages Guild - The Flame Test - Journeyman 1 Sir Kejtar's skills were evolving he realized that he reached a level where he needs to learn to hide his skills. In some of the books he read he learned that there are specific incantations that when called upon will hide his skills from those around him. To test it, he decided to visit a temple which housed the sacred flame of truth. During the hunt for those who practiced black arts, suspects were sent to face the flame and if they turned out to be mages the axes fell and killed them. Sir Kejtar took a deep breath and went in merlins-beard.com/thread/1668/mages-guild-flame-test-journeyman

Merchants Guild – Apprentice 2 – Acquiring the Goods
Fabric Fit For a Queen
Caelyan is so excited when she picks up her new wagon and immediately sets off with Ruthren to the warehouse run by the Weavers Guild to purchase the supplies she will need to become a traveling needlewoman. Caelyan is delighted with the shear variety of fabric she has to choose from. This warehouse is stocked from all over Lenfald and even New Lenfald. The softest llama wool comes from Sweet Repose and the other llama ranches in the Isles. Thick heavy wool perfect for cloaks comes from Nan Deorc. Beautifully dyed cotton comes from the plains of Durrough. Isil Oro produces the finest linen. From simple broadcloth to elaborate brocade, this warehouse has everything, even some of the finest lace in Lenfald from Elavia.

My Heroes Guild Master 2 entry. Heroes Guild - M2 - Your hero in their new larger home/castle with their newfound wealth. -+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-Ulchabhan Castle: Great Hall-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+- Also known as Castle Valeguard, Ulchabhan Castle was the seat of power in Orevale Hold and the home of Sir Caedric Moore and his family. The Commander of the Valeguard had taken up residence in the castle during the last autumn; he and his wife Erin had decided to start a family and their manor on the lake - although cozy - would potentially put children at risk due to its' position outside the walls of the city so it was put up for auction and the two moved into the castle at the heart of the city along with their extended family.
Back Row (from left) - Erin Moore, daughter of Torvald Njordson, wife of the Commander, and shield-maiden of Orevale. Shannon Moore, baby-daughter of Erin and Caedric. Sir Caedric Moore, Commander of the Valeguard. Molly Njordson, wife of Valdr Njordson and shield-maiden of Orevale. Valdr "Val" Njordson, son of Torvald Njordson and a Captain of the Vigil. Torreg "Bison" Njordson, brother of Torvald Njordson, renowned fisherman and boat-builder. Torvald Njordson, owner of the Orevale Winery. Valeguard Soldier. Sir Hollander Peake, Captain of the Wulfguard. Front Row (from left) - Bard Njordson, son of Valdr Njordson. Tytos Jorin, Loreesi refugee. Valeguard soldier. Le Boeuff, le chef.-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+- As always, comments and criticism are welcome and appreciated! Ronin

My Heroes Guild Master 3 entry. Heroes Guild - M3 - Your hero training a young lad/lass in the ways of a hero. -+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-The Way of the Bow-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+- Tytos knocked another arrow onto the string; the shortbow felt good in his hands. Solid, yet flexible. In one motion, he raised the bow and pulled the arrow back to his ear, then held it there for a few seconds. He closed one eye and focused the other on the center of the target fifteen yards from him, he let the arrow fly...
...and watched it sail right over the circle of wood only to splinter against the side of the castle and clatter to the rough stone path to his right.
"What did I do wrong this time?" Tytos asked exasperatedly as he turned to the two knights on the other side of the well.
"You're still closing one eye," Caedric responded good-naturedly. "Keep both of them open next time. You never want to take your eyes off of your target." Caedric Moore - the Commander of the Valeguard - had spent the morning drilling the Valeguard's newest potential initiate on the ways of archery at the behest of one of his captains, Sir Hollander Peake of the Wulfguard. He had sent Peake to the neighboring province of Lenfald- "Nation, now," he reminded himself - the year before to the town of Stonehedge to gain information on the islands to the west and Hollander had returned with a young Loreesi named Tytos Jorin who until then had been held captive by the Lenfels. Hollander had promised the boy safe passage back to Loreos, should he desire it, and the Commander would have made good on his offer had the young Loreesi not expressed a desire to remain in Garheim. Caedric acknowledged the boy's potential as a squire, bard, or herald and had taken him as a page for the remainder of the year until he could "grow into his feathers". The following autumn had come and it was time to test young Jorin's abilities and - potentially - induct him into the Valeguard as an initiate.
Caedric had Hollander set up a target in one of the courtyards of Ulchabhan Castle at the base of a tower next to a well where the servants and cooks of the castle gathered water. They had started with the basics, but it seemed a more practical approach was necessary. "Peake. Show the boy how it's done," he said with a smirk and ushered young Tytos to his side. The big knight took a few paces past the well - further than Tytos had just been - and sent an arrow down range to stick quivering in the center of the board.
"You have to envision it, lad," Hollander said, striding back to the two with a slightly smug look on his face. "Keep both eyes on the target and picture the arrow striking it in your mind. But don' worry, boy," Peake said with a smile. "If you don' get it this time, we can try sparring with a blade, next." -+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+- As always, comments and criticism are welcome and appreciated!
