Yeah... There is nexo knights - but they are not really castle sets as far as I am concerned..... Which leads me to an addiction and lack of proper castle sets! Result? I started trolling eBay again.... And, well... My wife is gonna kill me.... Why? Well, bought two sets: Castle Knights' Kingdom II Gargoyle Bridge (8822) and Majisto's Magical Workshop, Dragon Master Knights (6048). Hoping that those two sets will fees the hunger for a while Anyone else frustrated with lack of proper castle sets on the market?

Yes very frustrated with a lack of proper castle.
I have heard though that there are supposed to be a couple Harry Potter sets comming out this year, as well as a distant rumor that castle is supposed to get another run in the next year or two. So we will have to see.
As far as nexo knights... Yeah it isn't doing anything for me. Some good figures but that's about it.
As a matter of fact I just did 2 bricklink orders, to help quell some of the need for castle...

I'm guessing 2018 is the last run of Nexo Knights? I think there's some general rule that these themes run 2-3 years (depending on sales?). So let the speculation commence!
If we do see a 'normal' castle line, I'd guess it would probably be one run/year as a fill in before the next castle/action mash-up. In someways it must be easier to do a line of standard castle sets than create the ideas for Chima/Nexo/Ninjago etc.
I'm guessing it would be a 'normal' line as Elves seems to be doing the fantasy thing at the moment. And even if that wraps up soon, it would be odd to do another fantasy theme so soon I would think.
Nexo Knights has brought out a lot of cool new pieces and fig parts, but a new 'standard' castle line would get me more hyped for castle building.

I have a few Helm's Deep and Kingdoms sets squirrelled away in the cellar, if this drought continues I will have to open one - for nostalgia reasons.
I really hope we get a normal Castle line this or next year, all these licensed sets are getting boring. And I am still waiting on a "Return of the King" line with Gondorian soldiers.

I think most of us here would give up our firstborn child to see a Return of the King LOTR line! I'd settle for a "normal" unlicensed line though, for sure.
I rarely buy sets for the explicit reason of wanting to build the set, so overpaying for retired sets luckily is not much of a temptation for me (though I always have built sets at least once before assimilating the parts into my collection), but the presence of a castle line definitely gets me excited to build for other reasons. Usually, it's because there's new factions, new parts, or something like that to stoke the fires of creativity.
For now, I'm mainly hoarding and waiting, haha. I'm looking at moving again soon, and probably will lose my Lego room in the process, at least for the short term. The plan is to flip into/out of several places in the next few years though, so that I eventually can work my way up to a really proper Lego space. Even as nice as my current Lego room is, it's just not big enough for the large convention-style dioramas that I enjoy building. A big "bonus room" or basement is what I really need, I think.

Jordan, the bonus room or basement idea never works 😝. It inevitably gets filled with other stuff. Ask me how I know...
I like Jordan, don't buy sets any more to build the set persay, I do buy sets as parts packs though, or to part out into my collection. I don't build as much as I would like due to the stress of work, and the daunting task that is sorting. Though a non licensed castle them would be great so I can stash a bunch of stuff away for parts purposes. I also, would like another hobbit/lotr serries to finish out the line. I will happily take what I can get with Potter as well, for parts purposes.
I really need to start selling on bricklink that which I don't need, so I can but stuff I can use.... Then perhaps I won't feel as bad when I do make a bricklink order.

Haha, I don't have that much stuff, and my plan to flip/rent out/repeat should keep me pretty lean and mean, until I get into a more permanent situation. That said, my already meager building activity will probably effectively drop to zero for a while, since I think most of the brick will have to stay in storage for a bit. But that could also change, depending on what this first property looks like. Regardless, I'll be buying any new castle sets that come out in the mean time, don't you worry

I just struck bonanza... (to a degree) About a year and a half ago 99 cents stores were selling dimension packs and I picked up some. Also couple stores just out of my area but still within my greater LUG area had sets that were not local to me. I asked someone to pick some up for me, paid for them and..... forgot about them. So long story short I just picked up 15 dimension packs which include IIRC 5 legolas sets as well as couple others... mainly for minifig parts

It's been confirmed at the recent toy fair that nexo knights is ending this year brickset.com/article/33959/the-end-of-nexo-knightsWhile I don't think this means that we'll definitely see a 'traditional' castle theme return, I would like to think that perhaps we could see a 'one and done' castle line filling the gap before the next 'big bang' (seems to be what they call these story driven in-house action themes like Chima, Nexo Knights etc). Reasons being... If nexo knights has been cancelled early, then some traditional castle sets would be fairly easy to produce. No new parts needed just print some new shields and torsos and dust off some designs for a tower siege, wagon attack, prison and battle pack. Job done. Girly elves is covering dragons and the fantasy area, so wouldn't expect two themes to cover that (though I think elves is ending soon also?). Just my thoughts. I may be way off base and they may have this all planned out, you know being a multinational company and all.

I'd forgotten about the rumour but today it was confirmed the Harry Potter is returning. brickset.com/article/34362/lego-harry-potter-returns! I know it's not exactly 'castle' but it may be the closest we're likely to get for a while. Lots of new pieces and prints that may be useful for castle builds. Current 'reveal' is the $99 Hogwarts castle, and 3 other sets to follow (one reported to be a D2C - I'm thinking maybe Hogsmeade?) From this reveal alone I can see lots of new pieces - lantern, candle flames, wands, sorting hat, hermione hair, harry hair, Dumbledore hair, Hagrid hair and body (looks like short legs insert into the main body?), mouse might be a recolour of the series 18 cmf accessory - but where's Fawkes (mentioned in the description).

Thats cool. Interesting new pieces such as the wands, on the other hand I think the nostalgic part of me will miss the lightsaber wands and everyone being normal minifigure height, even though being short children makes sense, and overall the minifigures look more accurate to the film. Still will be neat

Ooh. Lots of useful new parts! I am liking the look of Dumbledor and Neatly Headless Nick's torsos/legs, and lots of good hair pieces also.
I think those square lattices for the windows might be new. If so, that might be the best new part in the whole set!
