I originally set my Laketown guys up with dark red hoods to match the legs, since there was no purple option. Now, thanks to Nexo Knights, purple is on the table. Which one do you guys like better? Red or Purple?

I love the red one! Incidentally, I find his face preferable as well as his hood.

I agree. The red give better balance. As for using the purple, it does go well with the torso. There is possibility there, but just not for lake town methinks...

I don't actually use them for Laketown. Maybe the title was misleading. They are Lego's Laketown guards, but I was going to use them for ore of a royal guard.

All other things being equal, I think I would prefer the red, because the matching colors on top and bottom tie the fig together. That said, the purple would look quite good specifically for a royal guard.

The red matches a bit better, but I think the purple would work perfectly with a matching purple cloak/cape. Both figs look great - maybe use both and have them symbolize ranks.

That's a great idea, Sir Caedric, especially since I only have one or two purple hoods right now. Those guys, with matching purple cloaks, could definitely be used as captains.

Or you could go the other way around and have the purple hoods be an extension of the base uniform, while the officers could have dark red hoods coming off of dark red capes.
