Meanwhile in another part of the labryinth a chirpy faun was inspecting his current find. Fa'ya'yo turned the key over in his hand "well this is a puzzle. I wonder what it unlocks?". His popped the key into his pocket and went through the door straight ahead of him. The room was identical to the last. There were again four doors, one to the left, one straight ahead, one to the right, and the one behind him that he had just entered through.
The room appeared to be empty, in fact he was yet to encounter any of the labryinth's unwelcoming residents. Perhaps fortune was on his side. In one of the corners of the room were there remains of a warrior that hadn't been as fortunate. "Oh dear, oh dear. I wonder what happened to him" Fa'ya'yo pondered.
The skeleton was wearing the remnants of some ancient armour, most of it having decayed over time. His sword however still shimmered and glinted as if it had been forged only yesterday. "That may come in useful" said the inquistive faun as he reached for the large sword, "I wouldn't want to meet whatever killed this poor fellow and be uprepared".
Warrior Sword (+2 to every strength attack)
- If you choose to take the sword you will gain +2 to every dice roll when using strength. You can 'buy' it for 6 gold, or if you don't have enough (which you don't...) you can leave the rest to the dice. eg If you submitted 2 gold, you will need a dice roll of 4 (or more). As you have no gold you will need a dice roll of 6. If you DON'T roll a 6, you will take 2 damage. You can roll as many times as you like but will take 2 damage every time until you roll a 6. Please submit how many attempts you would like to have before quitting.
------------------
Yorick, please submit your points in the forum using a short story. You may also include a small 8x8 MOC if you wish. Once you've done this I'll crunch the numbers and write up the result, then move on to the next player. Deadline - Tuesday!

Fa'ya'yo was a hesitant faun, but he was determined to get to the center of the maze. "Well, this guy clearly has no use for this, I might as well, uh, borrow it for a, uh, while. I hope it's worth it!" Fa'ya'yo tries 3 times to get the sword.

The faun tried to get a strong grip on the sword, and tugged. It was stuck fast and the rust cut into his hand (dice roll of 2... not enough. Loses 2 health). "Ouch!" he exclaimed. He readjusted his grip and pulled again. It still didn't move (another dice roll of 2... Loses 2 more health).
He stood back and looked at the skeleton. It really was a fine looking sword. He would have one more try. Fa'ya'yo gripped the hilt firmly with both hands, putting his foot on the skeleton's chest, and pulled. He fell onto the floor with a bump... but the sword remained in place (dice roll of 5... loses 2 more health).
"Well that is a bother..." he thought. He rubbed his hands with some leaves from his pouch, that would easy the pain for a little bit while he decided which way to go next.
------------------ Fa'ya'yo was unsuccessful in retrieving the sword so it remains there to be found... He also loses 6 health for 3 failed attempts.Yorick, please PM me with which way you want to go next.

Elias the wizard continued on his path keeping the wall to his right. He entered another room almost identical to the last. Three doors, with one straight ahead, one to his left, and one behind him through which he had just passed.
But he was not alone. As well as a dead imp on the floor, there stood a man. He appeared to be holding a glowing wand but his clothes were unlike anything the wizard had seen before. Elias had a split second to make his decision... friend or foe?
The Doctor never liked killing, and seeing the imp dead on the floor made him sad. "If only they could have talked things" through he thought. Suddenly his companion screamed, for through the door straight ahead had come a strange looking wizard. The wizard said nothing but held up his wand. The Doctor would have a split second to react...

Merc and Lilcurt, you may submit a MOC and short story in the forum but please MESSSAGE ME YOUR POINTS SUBMISSIONS. You can use as many points as you like, but remember to save some for future battles. We will do one round of stats, the winner taking the losers gold and getting a 'free move' onwards. The loser will have to wait for the next round to move, but cannot follow the winner. The person with the highest individual stat submission will go first. Once you've done this I'll crunch the numbers and write up the result, then move on to round 3. Deadline - Saturday/Sunday.

The doctor recovering from the last battle, was not prepared for the door to burst open, automatically raising his sonic, he pointed it in the direction of the new comer. " Friend or foe, state your purpose! I don't want to fight you!" There seemed to be a stand off, and there was no way to know who was going to attack first...

As Elias stared at these two strangers he wondered to himself, "what manner of sorcerers is this? They look like me but that is strange attire the are wearing an what is that thing that he is pointing at me? Is that a wand?" He continued to stare, the grip on his staff ever tighter an his hand slowly making a motion. He was preparing to blast his newly found opponent. "I shall not underestimate my new for like I did the last time." He continued to stare, ever vigilant and ready. "Should they strike then I will strike harder, but for now I will observe their movements."
As the man spoke to him and asked who he was, Elias responded......

The Doctor stood poised. "Quick, stand behind me" he said urgently to his companion. The wizard Elias took their movements as preparation for an attack and so struck first.
Elias cast a spell, the wave of magic blasting out toward his perceived foe (magic submitted 8 + dice of 5 = 13). The Doctor tried to counter the blast with his own 'sorcery' (magic submitted 4 + dice roll of 2 = 6... The Doctor loses 7 health...) but he and his companion were knocked back by the wizard's attack.
The wizard saw his chance and skillfully launched another assault (skill submitted 6 + dice roll of 5 = 11). The Doctor saw the second attack coming, and darted out the way but the blast hit his companion (skill submitted 5 + dice roll of 1 = 6... Doctor loses 5 health).
The Doctor screamed as his companion fell to the floor. "Nooooo!" He picked up a nearby rock and threw it at the wizard (strength submitted 4 + dice roll of 6 = 10). It clubbed the wizard on the side of his head, and he fell against the wall (strength 2 + dice roll 5 = 7... Elias loses 3 health).
The Doctor picked up his companion and disappeared through what appeared to be a door in thin air. He would be safe inside his 'box' for the moment.
----------------
Elias struck first as he submitted the highest stat he wins 1 luck for a successful battle, and the Doctor loses 1 luck. The Doctor loses 13 health... which put's him desperately in need of a re-generation... Elias loses 3 health but 'steals' 2 gold from the Doctor for the win. Elias/merc can choose what door he goes through (straight, which is where lilcurt came from, left, or behind, where you came from), and that will bring round 2 to an end.

Round 3
Elias the Wizard darted through the door to his left. He had been engaged in a battle with another poweful magic user only to see the man, and his companion disappear into thin air. Seemingly passing through a door in space and time. That was magic far beyond his capabilities, though he did wonder if it had something to do with how he might have travelled to this maze. He doubted it, there must be a more straight-forward explanation as the Imp called Ezam that had greeted him on arrival had merely implied this was just a whole lot of fun... But Elias wasn't one for jokes. Especially not those that endangered his life.
The room he entered was empty, but had four doors. One straight ahead, one behind, and one on each of the left and right walls. He hoped to be safe in here for a moment. And then something caught his eye. Grumbleweed! A small herb was somehow growing out of the cracks in the cobbles. Most other adventurers might have dismissed it as a mere weed but Elias recognised it's true worth. He plucked it up and stuff it in his satchel (Elias gains 2 magic points).
-------------------
Meanwhile, elsewhere in the labyrinth Malekk the Warlock continued his quest to escape. He took a right turn and entered another chamber. Again there were four doors. One to the left, one to the right, the one behind him he had just come through and one straight ahead. Apart from that the room was empty... His alien companion hissed at the floor. Faun tracks... and they were fresh. Someone must have passed through here recently (Room is empty, Malekk rests and gains 2 health).
------------------
Rulf the Orange took the door straight ahead. He thought it best to keep the wall to his right. The room he entered was just like the last. Three doors, another one straight ahead, one to his left, and the one he had passed through. Rulf had just defeated a troll, and now here stood an Imp. A slightly different foe, more tricksy, but "if it bleeds, I can kill it" thought the warrior, and he again drew his sword.

Revived but his defeat of the Vilderbeast, Mau the ninja stalked his way through the shadows. Keeping a wall to his left his went straight ahead and entered another room identical to the last. Three doors, straight, right and the one behind him, with a wall to his left. Apart from that the room was empty... he paused to rest (Room is empty Mau rests and gains 2 health).
------------------
Astrid the Valkyrie had so far defeated an Imp and a stone golem, taking both battles in her stride. She was used to war, and this 'contest' felt like child's play to her. She continued straight, and in a brief moment of over-confidence almost tumbled to her death. The room she entered was similar to the last, with a door again straight ahead, one to the left, one to the right and she stood perched in her doorway, as the floor of the room was a pit. It wasn't so deep that you wouldn't be able to climb out, however the razor sharp daggers sticking out of the bottom would surely kill any warrior that stumbled in. She would have to edge her way around to the next door using the stone wall as handholds.

Elsewhere, Drinlarr the Barbarian narrowly avoided a similar fate, and by choosing to take the door to his left, came upon a challenge perhaps more suited to his 'stout' frame. The room he entered had four doors, one on each of the four walls. But the doors weren't the barbarian's primary concern. Arguing in the middle of the room stood three trolls. It appeared they were squabbling over a rat they had caught, as to who would get the juiciest parts. They all turned their heads towards Drinlarr. The troll holding the rat sniffed his nose "Yoo too can keep tha rat, I'm eatin the fat one!" and he shoved the other two trolls out of the way. Drinlarr took offense at the remark and gripped his battle-hammer firmly. "I'd like to see you try!" he bellowed.

Fa'ya'yo the faun was perhaps enjoying his adventure a bit too much. He so far had picked up a key, and tried to pick up a pesky sword but had been unable to budge it. But he was beginning to wonder if he was indeed along in the labyrinth. He went straight and entered the next chamber. Again four doors, one on each wall, which one would he pick? What if he was all alone? What if he never found his way out? What if a giant monster was to attack him? Would anyone hear his screams? Feelings of despair began in invade his mind. Where even am I? He thought. Was there any point in going on? Deep in the shadows of the room, unseen by the faun the Eye of Despair continued it's pyschological attack. Soon the faun would mentally give in, and give up, and then the eye would feast on his flesh...

Back in his magic box The Doctor was recovering from his battle with the wizard. He waved some gadgetry over his companion and it bleeped and beeped. He was relieved to discover she was going to be ok. His own wounds would take longer to heal, but time meant very little to him so he was happy to wait. He would however need to decide their next course of action. He didn't think following the wizard would be a good idea, so that door was out of the question. Which left him with two options, to continue straight on, keeping the wall to his right, or to return back through the door that they had entered the chamber through.
(Lilcurt, please submit your decision in the forum using a short story and MOC if possible. Deadline, next wednesday).

Well that's it folks, hope it makes sense why I chose to write them all at once. It was a bit of a mammoth to write so if I've made any mistakes or anything needs clarifying please use the sigh-up thread or PM me.

Drinlarr braced himself for the difficult battle he was about to face. Three trolls in a dimly-lit room were going to be his toughest challenge yet. The three trolls looked like they were about equal to each other in physical strength, and all of them fairly clumsy. He should be able to win the battle easily enough. Drinlarr backed toward a corner of the room, so as to avoid being flanked by the trolls. Just as the lead troll charged him, he raised his mighty hammer and brought it down with a hefty thud!
Three Trolls Strength 2 (x3) Skill 1 (x3) Magic 0 (x3)
Drinlarr for Troll #1 Strength - 3 Skill - 2 Magic - 3
Drinlarr for Troll #2 Strength - 3 Skill - 2 Magic - 3
Drinlarr for Troll #3 Strength - 3 Skill - 2 Magic - 3
Drinlarr starting HP - 20
If Drinlarr is successful, he will eat the rat (he's hungry!) and then proceed through the door to the right. (MOC to follow - I figured if I got the stats turned in, Andhe could start working on the results while I'm building)

Rulf gripped his sword, moving towards the left doors. He decided keeping the wall on the right is a good idea ..., if you wish to get bored to death. His blodlust was prevailing the intention to get out of this mess as soon as possible, and he had the feeling there are more interesting and exiting things to the centre. Rulf kept moving while he lowered the sword, preparing to stab it through one of the imps devilish eyes ...

Malekk crouched low, studying the subtle hoof prints on the rough floor of the labyrinth. Clutching his wounded side and still breathing heavily from the previous battle, he struggled to rise and continued through the door straight ahead...

The doctor was thinking for a great while while he looked after his companion. She was still asleep an healing. She is going to be alright, he thought to himself. But I have to see what is going on hear perhaps get to the bottom of this. So he stood up and opened the door a crack. He didn't see anything but an empty room. The doctor stepped out in to the room. The imp which had laid dead on the floor mere moments before was now gone. The wizard that appeared had gone through the door on his left was also gone. The doctor decided to push on and go straight through the door in front of him. He turned his back on that door for a moment and locked his companion in the tardis so she could recover. he didn't want her to get hurt again. after locking the door he turned and went forward through the door straight ahead of him, When all of a sudden.... ( hopefully something good will come of this )

Drinlarr VS the trolls
Drinlarr braced himself for his toughest challenge yet. The three trolls jostled and barged one another as the all sought to get at the barbarian first. The stocky warrior backed himself into a corner, and swung his mighty hammer as the lead troll charged...
The troll threw his enormous fist at the barbarian (strength 2+ dice 3 = 5), it was a heavy blow but Drinlarr's hammer also connected with the troll with a mighty thud knocking the troll back (strength 3 + dice 3 = 6. Troll loses 1 health). The troll staggered back slightly dazed by the blow. Shaking his head he launched himself again at the barbarian (skill 1 + dice 1 = 2) but it was an attack that Drinlarr had easily forseen. The warrior side-stepped the troll, swinging his hammer up, connecting heavily with the troll's chin (skill 2 + dice 6 = 8...). The crack echoed around the room as the troll's skull was shattered by the barbarian's blow and the beast's large body crashed to the stone floor (troll #1 loses 6 health and is dead).
The two remaining trolls paused for a second, as the fate of their leader sunk in. But they quickly regained their composure, or as much as the lumbering beast with more brawn than brains can and advanced on the warrior. The second troll launched at the barbarian with both hands (strength 2 + dice 6 = 8). Drinlarr blocked the troll's attack with his hammer and the two jostled back and forth for a while, the stout warrior's muscle tensing and bulging beneath his stocky frame (strength 3 + dice 5 = 8. Strength is even). The troll roared and tried to bite the barbarian (skill 1 + dice 3 = 4), but as it leaned forward Drinlarr brought his head crashing into the troll's nose with a punishing headbutt (skill 2 + dice 3 = 5. Troll loses 1 health). The beast tore the hammer from Drinlarr's grip and clumsily swiped a fist at the barbarian (magic 0 + dice 3 = 3) but Drinlarr sensed the troll's attack, time seemed to slow as he raised his own powerful fists and brought them crunching down onto the troll's temples (magic 3 + dice 2 = 5. Troll loses 2 health... dead). The second troll slumped to the floor next to the first.
The third and final troll pawed at the barbarian, swinging his club like hands at Drinlarr (strength 2 + dice 2 = 4). Invigorated by the battle, the chunky champion easily ducked the troll's clumsy assault and picked up his hammer from the floor, swinging it round his waist to and connecting it heavily with the troll's knee-cap with a crack (strength 3 + dice 3 = 6. Troll loses 2 health). He was surprised that his second swing was block by the troll (troll skill 1 + dice 3 = 4. Barbarian skill 2 + dice 2 = 4) and the crippled beast lashed out in anger (magic 0 + dice 1 = 1) but Drinlarr again felt a power surging through him, his senses heightened, time slowing down until all he could hear was the beat of his heart. He raised his mighty hammer, and with one final swing, struck the troll at the base of it's skull (magic 3 + dice 4 = 7. Troll loses 6 health... dead). The lumbering beast slumped into a pile on top of it's two dead companions.
Drinlarr breathed a heavy sigh of relief, though he loved battle, he was hungry and picked up the rat the trolls had been fighting over when he had stumbled into their path. He'd eaten worse, and charred over a fire most things tasted like chicken anyway.
-----------------
Drinlarr gains 1 luck for a successful battle and potentially 3 gold if AK submits a build by Friday. He gains 1 strength for eating the rat, and after he's eaten he will continue through the door to his right.

Rulf VS the imp
Rulf the Orange entered the room and decided to take the door to his left, leaving the edge of the labyrinth behind him. But the first thing to deal with was an imp that blocked his path. It's devilish eyes stared at the veteran warrior as it sneered revealing its pointed teeth. The imp hissed, and Rulf drew his trusted sword yet again.
The imp let out a shriek and ran towards the warrior. It drew a small dagger out of its cloak and slashed and stabbed at the knight, keeping out of the knights range (skill 3 + 1 = 4). Rulf faked a step to the right, causing the Imp to dart left, just as he had expected, and his sword was waiting, swatting the pest with its broad side (skill 4 + dice 4 = 8. Imp loses 4 health... 2 remaining).
The Imp, frustrated by its attacks turned to magic instead. Producing some powder from its cloak it threw it at the seasoned knight (magic 2 + 4 = 6). Rulf began to choke and splutter, the imp must have thrown some 'wind coff' at him. The knight grasped his cloak to his mouth, filtering the powder somewhat. He instinctively thrust his sword through the fog at the imp... (magic 3 + dice 5 = 8)... and as the cloud cleared, Rulf found the pesky mite pierced on the end of his blade (imp loses 2 health. Dead).
The imp slid off the knight's sword and Rulf cleaned and returned it to his sheath. "Foolish imp" he thought, and headed towards the door to his left, heading towards what he hoped was the centre of the labryinth...
--------------
Rulf receives 1 luck for a successful conflict, his 2 strength are returned to him as they were unused and will potentially receive 3 gold if Fritzix submits a build by Friday.
