Here's my entry to the Restricted category of the GCVII in the LoR roleplaying game.
Story:
Erathor had been ready for the rebellion to begin, so when the Loreesi leaders received Prince Jarius' coded letter, he was able to march almost straight away. The army from Sarenhold pursued a large contingent of the Dragon army in the area towards the border, but sudden news caught them by surprise: the Dragons had wheeled around, and were heading south towards Erathor's relatively unprotected city. Fuelled by anger and fear, the Loreesi hastened to a pass in the hills of the Knife-Road, famous for the multitude of bandits that lined the way and preyed on unsuspecting travellers.
When they reached the end of the pass the army halted, and Erathor called the captains together to devise a plan, one that would be sure to stop the deadly march of Galainir's troops once and for all.
The day of battle dawned, and it was clear from the start that it was going to be hot. Allaeus and Bryke, leading the infantry, lined the men up at the end of the pass, and there they waited. Erathor, however, took the cavalry a little way away, out of sight of Allaeus' troops, with the archers in support.
As the Queen's troops came out of the pass, they could hear the battle cries of the Loreesi foot soldiers as they engaged the enemy in battle. Archer, having been sent to report on the situation, said that a large band of Outlaws were holding Allaeus back, and that the Queen's own men were biding their time, waiting to strike the Loreesi as they weakened. Upon hearing this news, Erathor mounted his horse and drew Shard. The archers moved silently to the top of the stony cliffs.
"These Dragons have no place in Lion country!" he called, rousing the knights. "Let us break Galainir's iron fist, as we ride to victory this day! FOR THE GLORY OF LOREOS!" As he said this, Captain Dag stood atop the rocks and raised the banner of Loreos. Spurring his horse on, Erathor led the cavalry into the pass, where the Dragons were already being pinned down by the Loreesi archers, unable to join their comrades in the fight against Allaeus' men. Terror filled their faces as they saw the oncoming Lions with their shining armour and vicious weapons. Not being able to flee, they stood their ground, and prepared for the hit of the horses.
The battle was over quickly, which did not surprise Erathor. When the cavalry had rode into the pass, Allaeus' men had fought harder, and soon the Outlaws were being pressed into a mass of whirling swords and golden lions rampant on Loreesi shields. The enemy were cut down where they stood, leaving Erathor with a joyous army ready to return to their liberated home.
For the Glory of Loreos!
