Apprentice Builds
Task A1: MOC that shows the construction process of a stone building - Foundation
Although Davo's is a warrior, this path was forced upon him. His passion however, has always been building things. Now as a leader of his community, he is in a position use this passion for the benefit of all. One of the major problems facing the defence of the area was the equipment and training of the local Fyrd. Funds have been secured from a number of sources, including the Ambar Guild and the Duke of Elvia and a small Keep is planned for construction.
The site chosen is Fealcencnæpp or Falcon Top, a small rocky outcrop dominating the meadows to the south of Ambarvale. Fealcencnæpp Keep will be a small keep to serve as a muster point and armoury for the local fyrd as well as providing commanding views of the surrounding country side for warning of approaching danger.
Under the watchful eye of a master mason from Stonewald, Davos supervisors the clearing of the ground and laying of the foundations. Carpenters are constructing scaffolding and a crane, stone is being brought up from the local quarry and rubble is being removed from the site.

I’ve chosen the Masons Guild as I really want to focus on improving my castle building. C&C very welcome. As I see it, the advantage of the apprentice challenges for the mason’s guild means that I can incorporate feedback into the next stages of the build – so please feel free to let loose! Also I’ve began to teach myself the basics of photo editing, so hopefully my photo quality will also start to improve.
Task A2: MOC that shows the construction process of a stone building
It has been three years since construction started on Fealcencnæpp Keep and construction has progressed slowly. As winter approaches, the work on the site concludes for another year. The last of the stone for the year is winched up by the trundle crane, while workers finish sealing the slate roof.
Well it's been a long time coming, but I have returned to Lenfald to finally finish the second stage of my Mason's guild apprentice build! Way back when I posted the first build I actually completed the second shortly after, however it never got photographed or posted. For whatever reason it ended up on the shelf where I scavenged parts of it for the next three years. I've always wanted to revisit it and the current GoH challenge motivated me to do so. As my building style has changed somewhat over the last three years, I completely rebuilt the base as well as adding the second level and rebuilding the construction equipment. The next scene will be the completed keep - hopefully that won't take another 3 years!
