Woohoo! I have been given the nod to get the ball rolling for the next draft! If you would like to participate and can commit to checking in regularly to draft, please make your interest known below. Once 7 people have signed up and we have settled on a few sets to choose from, everyone will vote for their preferred set. I'd like to be drafting by the end of September. I will start by listing two possible draft sets; expecting for the list to grow as people discuss them and inevitably suggest things that I haven't considered. Mirkwood Elf Army - $29.99 - 276 pcs - 6 figs 1 warg Attack on Laketown - $29.99 - 316pcs - 5 figs Witch-King Battle - $14.99 - 101pcs - 3 figs
+ Sign-ups (not draft order) 1. Str0ngbad 2. lilcurt 3. Ser Hamlock of Stonewald 4. Isundir 5. Schmidt 6. jarek 7. Carrick of Garheim 8. 9. (may or may not get to participate) 10. (may or may not get to participate)

I shouldent, but I am game so long as we keep it in the $50 price range. The city of styx looks great to draft, but I dont know if I will be able to swing it with the temple of Airjitzu in my shopping cart as well as a perisian resteraunt.
Also some of the LOTR sets are getting harder to get a hold of.

The Mountain Hut might be a good on to go with. It's more of a part builder than a figure based set. And I think it's still $30.

We discussed mountain hut for the last draft and it got axed due to poor part selection (all pretty basic brick). I'm out for now. Gotta spend my coin on BL orders for the castle!

The Mountain Hut really doesn't excite me in spite of its amazing price per piece because it seems like a lot of generic pieces that I expect to get cheaply and I prefer picking new molds/colors over quantity picks most of the time. My prejudice aside, I'd still draft it if it was what everyone selected. We'll see how everyone else feels about it.
I actually think I would prefer to do Mirkwood Elf Army over Laketown Attack but I know it has been drafted in the past. I figure it's still worth mentioning with six figs, a warg, foliage, and great basic pieces too.

Yes the mountain hut is a good basic parts pack. However there are better out there and as jordan stated it got axed for various reasons.
As to elf army, I hosted that draft yes there are good parts. But we need to consider set avaliability. That being said I will throw some sets out today that would be good. Also dont count out architect sets there are no figures but they are parts goldmines.

Elf Army is still available from Lego. I'd love to see some architecture suggestions.

str0ngbad, what do you think of doing a smaller draft so that international members can affordably participate? I know you were thinking of doing Witch King Battle at one point. Isundir was potentially interested in doing one, but there are high customs fees in his country for anything that doesn't fit in a padded envelope. andhe might be game to do a smaller draft as well. Not sure who else here is international. Erathor Pridenar comes to mind.

On the smaller set end of things. What if we combined 2 small sets. For instance 2 witchking sets?

I'm all for going small if it will let people participate. It would still probably cost $7 to ship to Europe though. I'd be fine with doing two witchking sets but I don't know what size envelope avoids customs fees or if there is a limit on how stuffed it can be. I'll ask the internet when I get home. EDIT: from dutycalculator.com: For imports into the Netherlands, there are minimum thresholds below which duty and VAT are waived. Duty is not charged if either: the FOB value, i.e. the value of the goods excluding shipping and insurance cost, does not exceed €150 the amount of duty payable on a consignment does not exceed €10 From belastingdienst.nl which is probably more reliable: Are you receiving goods from abroad, from private individuals, e.g. from family members or friends? Is the value not mote than € 45? Then you do not pay taxes to import the goods. Is the value over € 45, but no more than € 700? Then you pay 2.5% of the value of the goods and VAT (0 or 6 or 21%). So if we stay under $45, customs and VAT shouldn't be a problem (I'd still be fine with a very small draft). There's no way around the cost of shipping though.

Sign me up for the draft, the ones at BF really pumped the drafting spirit into my blood.
I would like to draft more castle-ish sets and not roam into the other themes too much, roaming into the $40+ range, but whatever the majority wants I'm completely happy with,

I looked into it and as long as it can be send out registered as a 'Gift' with a value of less then 45 Euro then I should be fine and interested to try out one of these drafts yeah

I would never say no to a draft. However if I have been involved in too many; feel free to replace me with someone else! Of course, I vote all day long for city of stiix. If it is a no go then I would rather do the other two sets listed beneath.
