Andy decided against shipping parts back and forth this go round so here's the final content of the box. I'm trying to find the original content pictures (been so long since the Jambalaya started that I can't remember where I stashed them!) Btw, the box was jam packed which is a good thing. I'm also happy with the fact that we stayed with the same sized box - to a degree the goal of Jamba is to exchange stuff and usually to me that means that we stay within the same volume Couple thoughts/notes regarding the jamabalaya - it was disappointing to see the poor communication that we have experienced. Additionally the fact that most folks didn't post up their exchange pics was disappointing as well. Part of the "fun" of this is that we get to see how things progress and move along but in order for that to happen folks need to post up pics! Lastly the chima and other non castle related stuff made me raise my eyebrows... I'm posting the rules as a refresher and for folks to reflect upon this jambalaya so that we can make the next MB even that gets hosted better!

In all Honesty I was disappointed with this Jam for a couple reasons. First- we had a lag in the start, Ludzik was on top of it but the next person in line took quite a few weeks to get the box to me and didn't actually swap anything due to deployment or training or what have you. So then I became first in line, and yes I did not send the box out as quickly as I had wanted do to funds at the time. But it went out as soon as I could and I tried to communicate that to everyone. Second- Looking back I was kinda disappointed that there were so many minifigures to start the Jam. I honestly felt like a Mini Fig jam Box and not a Castle Jam box. I tried to change that by adding in some more basic building block and foliage Etc. Third- This was the first time my wife was going to participate And she was also disappointed because as the box got back to us it had again become mostly minifigures and There was a lot of Non Castle related stuff. Now in defence of the Chima there are a lot of parts that with some mods are actually quite useful in castle. I do apologize about the photos as I took them on my new phone and just recently found out how and found the time to upload them. So here they are at long last my wifes, Takes, Her Gives; And My supplementals, I hope that you like the pics as it looks like most didn't make it to you Now yes I did add Egglor BUt his torso and pants are darned useful and I am sure the wings could be scavenged for something. I did enjoy participating as usual but the enthusiasm was really dampened. Will love to participate in future Jams But think we may need to go back to the drawing board as it were.

Maybe for subsequent jambalayas it would be worth adding some detail to the ground rules. Things like: - Are there any rules with regard to whether the parts can be / can't be / have to be bricks and structural elements versus minifigures or minifig parts versus weapons and accessories? - Are there any rules as to whether parts can be / can't be / have to be LEGO versus after-market (BrickArms, BrickForge, etc.)?
So taken to one extreme, you could just agree that the castle jambalaya should be about building castles rather than characters, and rule out all minifigs and accessories. Or you could make some provision that at least half the value of the package must always be structural elements (e.g., non-basic bricks like profile bricks, arches, etc.), at least a fourth must be landscaping materials (leaves, vines, tree components, etc.), and no more than a fourth of the value can be minifigs and accessories.
I also think that it might make sense to put a more concrete schedule in the updated first post, with deadlines as to when each person needs to ship the package on. It's not good for these things to drag out, and everyone should know where the package stands and who's on the clock.
Just some observations from an unconnected observer.
