ALL COLLAB PARTICIPANTS: The map is up, and as I promised, you can see we have an outstanding spot for LoR: click here. It will get a ton of attention as it's the first thing people will see coming in the entrance, and, more importantly, it's nowhere near the children's Stay and Play or Moonbounce , or the stinky bathrooms in the back . Believe me, it's an awesome spot. And fortunately the two other collaborations which some of us are participating in, Pharaoh's Labyrinth and the Civil War are right across the isle. Suuuuweeet And while I'm mindlessly blathering on, the schedule is up too, and you are all invited [warning: shameless self-promotion plug] to my Landcaping Techniques seminar at 12:00 on Friday in the Bingo area, where I will foolishly give away some of my Ancient Lenfel Secrets which have allowed me to create some not-too-shabby builds and make it appear as if I actually know what I am doing...

Gary our location is prime real estate! I can't wait to meet you in person for the first time so I can give you a big hug; we've got a great location! Not only that, but OKILUG (the closest LUG to me in terms of distance, I know most of the guys/gals) is right beside of us. So glad you posted this!

Very cool set-up they have going this year. Looks like they're finally getting the vendors out of the back corners. It's looking like I'll be going Sunday, so I hope there will be less of a crowd and I can hang out for a bit. Do you guys think they'll let me behind the tables without a badge on?

Do you guys think they'll let me behind the tables without a badge on? Yes, someone did it last year, but you have to leave when it closes.

Glad to hear that you can also stop in and see OKILUG friends too. Do you guys think they'll let me behind the tables without a badge on? We have a few folks who do this as well. Technically not illegal as people can have their own badges made by the Brick Engraver, and as Joshua states you'll have to leave at public exit time anyway since that's the final day. Easy-breezy.

Sir Haymar Glen Sir Caelan Munro I was jut asking because I found it's much easier talking when you're behind the table, and not leaning across them holding everyone up I hadn't really planned on hanging out for more than 30 min or so. The only "badge bricks" I own are my Lands of Classic Castle and LCC - Outlaws bricks, which are now a bit obsolete.

I really don't think anyone will notice or mind, since your are paying to get in on Sunday anyway. Sunday is very busy BTW, and as soon as 4:00pm rolls around, people start packing up, because by 8:00pm a team of folks comes by and starts pulling tablecloths off and tearing down tables, and by 10:30, pretty much everything has been picked up and put away. So it's a mad rush, unfortunately.

So we've got some slight problems.
As you know, I am building the bases for the counter attack right now and it had been discussed and encouraged that I build the entire counterattack. Right now I have built D7, E7, and F7, and D8, E8, and F8.
About half of my cavalry for the counter attack take up two baseplates by themselves. I really need more than 6 modules to pull this off. On the map that was drawn up, D6, E6, and F6, were all part of the counter attack. Is there anyway Lord Mercat, that I could build those? If not, we are going to have to expand the display another length of baseplates. I have fiddled around with it, and the counter attack is going to look just plain strange with 6 baseplates instead of 9.
A suggestion (just food for thought). If the swamp is becoming an issue, we could remove two of the swamp modules E2 and F2, and could put plains to E2 and F2, that way Lord Mercat will still have 12 baseplates together and then I can have the 9 I need to pull off the counter attack. The swamp module already built would be E1 and F1. I just want to get all of this ironed out since we are only a few weeks out!

I also agree that a few things should be ironed out as the date draws nearer. First off- do we actually have all of the modules accounted for? I really think we need to take a tally and see where we are. 8x6 is 48 modules. So lets assume this- I'm building 12 modules, after schmidt and I iron out the changing of which modules to build he'll have 9 modules, Haymar and Mythrog have got the castle, so that's 10 modules for the castle- furthermore they have also built F2 and 3 so that's two more modules for a total of 12 by Haymar and Mythrog. Finally, we have Bricknave at 1 module for his ship. Therefore, we have a total of 12+9+12+1= 34 modules accounted for. In other words, we need 14 more modules. 8 modules inside the castle, and the other 6 being the 3 modules bordering the castle on the left and right upper columns (A1-C1, A6-C6). We should see if the JJ brothers are still available to build a couple modules as they were asking, and anyone else who can contribute would be appreciated.
@ Schmidt- Go ahead and put those modules together, I haven't built those particular ones yet so you're fine. We don't have enough modules accounted for as it is so we can't add another row. Instead of those three I'll make D1, D2, and E2 provided we push back the bog modules. If we can't find enough people to make the bog modules, I agree with pushing it back, I don't have any trans-green tiles so I can't make a bog module unfortunately.
Furthermore, I think it would be a good idea to get together some final troop tallies as well. So, originally I pledged 25 loreesi, 50 Garhim, and 100 lenfels. This has changed slightly (less Garhims, more lenfels, about the same total number). I'll be bringing 25 loreesi, 25 Garhim, and 144 Lenfels for a total of 194 allied troops
I think the best way to get a good tally is to copy the tally below, and add your own troops:
Loreesi: 25
Garhim: 25
Lenfels: 144
Outlaws: 0
Total: 194
Furthermore, I was checking and you can fit about 48 fully armed minifigs on a 32X32 baseplate comfortably without it being too crowded. If we apply this to the whole of the MoC, we get 2304 troops. Now of course we have the castle and some terrain and such, so I think that with that (and not wanting to overcrowd the MOC) , we can safely cut that number in half, so to get the best effect, we should try and have approximately 1000-1150 troops.
Thoughts? We really need to get all this ironed out ASAP. Don't want to be short anything come brickfair.

Schmidt: Good idea, let's go ahead and shrink the bog to just two modules. The two will be F2 and E2, and we'll just shift them over to the left one space, since F2 is already built. Lord Mercat: Great work on all those technicalities Mercat! We are building all the modules inside the castle, so count those into our total. We are also building A1 & A8, as they have the rock wall on them. Everything else is open for people to build. I agree with the tallying up of our soldiers, we will try to get counts on all our soldiers in the next few days. One thing, we (Caelan, Mythrog, and I) do not have enough Queens scum to man the castle by ourselves, so Schmidt, we will need some of your guys too. Cheers, Joshua

Thanks Lord Mercat for your willingness to make this switch!
I will draw an updated map (this evening hopefully). In addition, I will also take B8 and C8 as modules to build.
That will give me these modules: B8 C8 D6-8 E6-8 F6-8
So according to my best estimations that leaves only 3 modules left. I might be off by one, maybe its only 2 left.
I will start adding my other factions together so I can have a firm number (and not a guess) as to how many of them I have.

Since I'm not making a module, I'm just going to bring Gavin's troops. Though is there a place I could put them all together, because if so I can contribute 4 Lenfels (I'm short there...) and about 6 Loreesi (I'm short there too.) Now you see why I don't do many large battle scenes.

Josiah, if you have any Orcs or Goblins you could bring those too. There will actually be a large number of Orcs there if the original armies we accounted for during the initial planning is still accurate.
