Just for reference, are there going to be any props that litter the battlefield? Lost wagon wheels, abandoned siege weapons, defenses, piles of unused materials? I know I'm not physically contributing, but I thought I might as well continue to contribute online.

Zach,
I think there should be a few props that litter the battlefield. I would imagine this is up to everyone's own preference with their module.
I officially completed the registration process for BFVA and paid off my fee. I had been registered for a while, but had not paid. 35 days away, getting closer! It's exciting to meet all of you in person. Hope I get selected for one of the parts draft but I am sure not holding my breath : /

I think it works because we will need lots of room for all those baddies of yours. I really wish Dark Orange was a more common color in plates, it would serve to break up a lot of the dark tan. But the color only comes in small and expensive plates.... And as far as litter on the battle field, I recommend lots of Queen's soldiers' bodies, er, um, lots of wagon wheels, tools, weapons, and empty Lenfel's Famous Molassas Candy Bar wrappers

You don't need any more modules filled for this, do you? We would love to contribute, even if it's just bringing our Garhim Army. Also, sorry for the late notice.

Has anyone considered making a promotional poster for this which explains LoR in an overview sort of way? I'm thinking tri-fold science fair-style poster board kind of thing.

You could also include a "can you find ____" to make it audience interactive.
"Can you find Maldrake, evil wizard of the outlaws?" With a picture of him, etc.

Hey guys, sorry for the delay, was busy working on other things. Lord Mercat: Wow! Great minds think alike! What you suggested is exactly what we were planning! High General Mythrog (my brother) is building the gatehouse, with a huge troll battering ram out front it. I agree on the tent thing, Haymar (and me IRL) would rather be in the thick of fighting, than in a tent. I was thinking the tent would be empty, with everyone's personal banners surrounding it. I don't like Chartres either, but logically he'd probably be there, wanting a share in the glory. Schmidt: If you look at the photo, there are two wall modules side-by-side to the right of the tower. The far right wall section will move over two spaces, and the gate will go in-between them. Next to the aforementioned wall piece, a second tower, identical to the first, will be placed, and the wall will run back from there. There are six outer towers total. Two towers flanking the gate, one on each side of the wall, and one each at the back of the castle, half-sunk into a sheer cliff. The towers are 28 to 30 bricks high. The keep will rise 10 to 12 bricks above the outer towers. Two open causeways high up will connect the keep to the gatehouse towers. At the top of the keep is a huge red crystal, which we'll hopefully be able to light up. Stretching across the back of the entire MOC will be a rock wall, height yet to be determined. The entire MOC will be 8 wide, and 6 deep. Hope that info helps! On the subject of terrain, I love your new module, with the lava pit. I think several of those would be great. Zach Bean: An excellent point! (can you name the movie that line came from? ) It's a great idea, burnt out siege engines and broken weapons (and Lenfel's Famous Molassas Candy Bar wrappers ) would definitely add to the overall effect of the battle. I'll leave it up to everyone to decide what they want on their own modules. General JJ: We'd love to have you guys! I'm not sure how we're doing on modules, but I think you guys could do a couple. Please do bring all your Garheimis, we're pitifully short on them! Don't forget Jørn Jakobsen! AK_Brickster: Actually, RBCustoms has already thought of this, and he made some great little info cards he'll be sending to me, along with the goodie bags. As far as "can you find_________" I don't really want to do this, as then the public will care only about finding the item, and not the build. as a last note, parts have finally been ordered for the castle, so we can get back to work now! Cheers, Joshua

We need to know sooner than later because we are running low on time before we have to be finished with everything that we're taking to BrickFair.

Is anyone else going to be bringing any other LoR themed builds? We need to get them registered under the collab so they can all stick together. I have 5 at the moment (which includes 4 8x8 vignettes of each faction and "Fort Quagmire" as well). I saw under the MOC list it looks like Gary and Joshua both have some too. I would love it if we could get a bunch showing off each faction.
Will anyone be bringing any other themed builds?

General JJ: As soon as Schmidt posts the map, I'll definitely let you guys know. Schmidt: Excellent! I will be bringing three other LoR builds; North Gate of Durrough, Leaving Home (which is Transformation of A Farmer Parts one and two put together), and Spy in the Shadows (which is End of the Line re-purposed). More WIP photos of the castle will be posted in a few days! Cheers, Joshua

Ok I've drawn up a grid, but I fear I may be confused. Does the front of the castle take up 5 or 6 baseplates?
Here is a tentative map. You can see it on my FLICKR. It might change based upon the size of the front of the castle. It's very crude, but overlook that

Thanks for the map Schmidt! I have commented on the photo with the modules that I would like mine to be, if possible. As I said before, I'm doing 12 modules, and I'd like them to be the 12 right in front of the castle, as Its easier to have them all block together, and that's the only 12 block that doesn't have castle in it. Specifically Modules D3-6, E3-6, and F3-6. Is this okay with everyone? I think, now that we've got a map, it might be best for everyone bringing a module to hammer out which ones they are bringing so that they all fit together at the fair!
