So is anyone else excited for Lego Skylanders......errr wait Lego Disney Infinity.......still wrong.......Lego Amiibo? I was excited but my wallet was dismayed! That wizard of oz torso was pretty nifty though! Also Marty Mcfly's hover board will go better with my delorian than the skateboard it came with! Anyone else have opinions on this new way lego made to get people to shell out money?

^Yeah I follow a number of blogs on flickr, it's a lot easier than having to check all the sites themselves.
It does seem a bit steep on the prices, for basically a standard fig (available in other sets) and a microchip thing they seem to be charging £15. It seems that this is more expensive than Skylanders from what I can tell, so I'm not sure of there justification of this.
I don't think they can win though. If they had made exclusive figures for the game people would complain, so instead they use exisiting figs, and people will complain (especially if they already own that figure, but need the chip to play it in the game).
Be interesting to see if there becomes a secondary market for the chips, with people keeping the figs. Or whether sell on the figs (especially if they already own them) to subsidise the purchase of the chips.

If you're happy to pay $30 for basically a fig and two poly bags... (if you don't include the chip and game content).

I still dont know if ill buy the game. In that case I would just wait for the Lego Ideas Dr Who set. I'm guessing it will be revealed later this year as well, will probably be around the same price point if previous cuusoo/ideas sets are anything to go by. I wonder if the inclusion of portal in lego dimensions was due to its popularity on cuusoo/ideas as well? Or whether its failure on cuusoo was due to something being in the works with dimensions already? (I'd guess the former).
