So my thoght with the elves sets. Everyone is leary about the mini dolls because they are worried that they will get stuck with 30 dolls. So to counter act that I will just say that everyone will get 3 dolls minus hair. The hair would be grouped into lots as normal. Just to let everyone know this set is full of great parts in dark red, and has a lot of currently rare parts that so far are only in this set. Also for the leaves I will probably split them into a couple lots each color. To give us all a couple chances at them

I'd take laketown + witchking or laketown by itself over elves any day of the week

Falsus here: as lil cirts wife i have to tell all of you that he had ZERO interst in the elves set until i mentioned how much dark red brick was in it. I made him look at it when it was up at our local lego store PLUS they had a tub sitting beside it of the parts. Thats the ONLY REASON he picked it up. There really aren't that many "girl" colors other than the leaves which are the biggeat draw to this set. Not to mention the number of dark red parts which are hard to come by & lets not mention the base plates as well. I know the mini dolls are nightmare inducing, however, if we break it out to 3 each no one is left with a minagre of terror all their own. Plus none of you can tell me you haven' t picked up a friends set & handed off the freakish dolls to a child unit in your hoisehold...

I have to admit the dark red bricks are another draw for me towards that Elves set.

The only thing I had against the Hobbit sets are the fact my local Walmart doesn't carry them.

Keep in mind that oftentimes the host can purchase the set if you send them money for it. It will keep you from having to pay for shipping both ways.

So contenders are the elves set, hut, laketown+wizards. Pirates seem to have little interest to most. Did I summarize things fairly accurately? If so... time to vote?

I'd say time to vote.

As it stands elves is in first, laketown-wizards second, hut third, pirates has like 1 vote.

So how many are actually interested and are planning to participate? the front list shows only 3 people? and then it would be good to match up those people vs which sets they're after.

Draft Sign-Up List (not all will make "final cut") 1. lilcurt (host) 2. ludzik 3. Mrs. lilcurt 4. Carrick of Garheim
5. lego 3364!
6. Graham Gidman 7. str0ngbad 8. jacksonwilliams 9. Yorick 10. Mattiusxavier 11. Excalibur 12. Schmidt 13. - Open - 14. - Open -
So, actually what I'm thinking is that since not everyone will make the final cut, it seems silly to let people who won't ultimately participate have a vote in what set is chosen.
Therefore I propose we set a cutoff date of this weekend for people to sign up. From there, I will draw names for the final list. Lilcurt will automatically be included in the final roster since he is the host. The rest of the participants will be at random (including Mrs. Lilcurt, for the sake of fairness).
Certain people who have expressed interest in joining may be excluded prior to the lottery, based on poor performance in past events, or simply due to low activity on the forums. I won't identify those people here, but will inform them via PM prior to the lottery.
Once the final 8 people are selected, then we can have a vote amongst them. Sound like a plan?

AK_Brickster Oh Jordan, I hadn't actually meant to sign up. I did post, but it just had to do with information. I didn't know that automatically added me in. Sorry 'bout that. While I'd really like to participate, I don't think now is a good time.
