I know his isn't LEGO related, as such, so admins feel free to lock this if you want. I saw this on YouTube this morning, and was...surprised, I guess. It looks to be quite cheesy and full of clichés, and the animation doesn't look that great either! It's like the creators have tried to make a kid's TV show into a teenage-up film. Weird. Watching this, I thought about the LEGO brand. Will this mean that we see some sets based on the movie coming out any time soon? Say what you think here!

I was actually quite intrigued. Not to be the old man in the room, but TMNT was originally a slightly more subversive (and violent?) comic that was taking the mickey out of animal type superheroes. I think the creators basically thought, what's the most ridiculous animal we could turn into a hero...
This message was obviously lost going into the cartoons (in the 90's) and they instead became closer to the characters they were originally poking fun at.
Though I'm not really a fan of Megan Fox in the April O'Neil role, if they took the TMNTs back to their more violent origins, then I'd actually more intrigued than a straight cartoon to film 'kid-friendly' adaptation. They need to do something fresh as we've seen their origin story a load of times before.
As for related lego sets, that could be interesting, especially as the film versions of the TMNT seem to have a very different look and aesthetic to the current TMNT lego figures so I wonder if we'd get new moulds, or whether they'd do more of a loose tie-in (similar to the Batman/Dark Knight Rises stuff).

You make a very good point, Andy. I didn't know that was how they started out, but it makes sense. I agree about Megan Fox, she's not how I imagine April to be.

I believe TLG renewed the TMNT license, so I expect we can see some sets based off this movie.

Well you might be too young to remember the original TMNT films Ieuan...but they were awesome...I think I'm going to watch them again tonight...(also I realize this made me feel old)...
Anywho...my point is that is about time they did another one of these...even though that seems to be all that Hollywood does now...take films previously made and do them again.

Considering this is Michael Bay we're talking about, I think Megan Fox is perfect.
When I first heard about this movie a number of months ago, I heard the turtles were intended to be aliens. If that's still the case, I am certain I like it about as much as the new Flickr image layout.

It will truly be the best worst time I've ever spent at a theater.

I showed this trailer to a friend, and I don't think either of us have cringed so much over a film that's not even out!

I have to admit, the "just a mask" gag was pretty good.
