I'm not keen for these at all. They're way too expensive and there aren't too many useful pieces, except a few of the torsos. I don't think I'll be buying any.

You know, I originally thought that I wouldn't be buying any at all... but after seeing them... and the nostalgia, and the fact that I collect these series', yeah I'll probably end up with some.
I love the original Simpsons, and I love what they did with each iconic figure here. There are some good accessories, but the figs looks the best. Of course, I am not at all fond of the $4.00 price tag, and that serves as quite a disappointment that future figs will probably be that price. I also like the distribution of the figs a whole lot better.

Agreed, the distribution is a whole lot better. I wonder why they went back to 3 sets per box? I think my main disappointment is the giant heads as the charm of lego and collecting minifigs to me is being able to swap parts and create new characters.
A new marge hairpiece would have been great, or a Homer bald cap etc, but I appreciate the face would have ended up looking odd printed on a minifig head (if you think about it, the cartoon usually shows them from the side. The few times you see a character face-on, they look strange) so understand that this was probably the best solution. It's just not for me.

When I get some of these I am going to have to make some knights with Simpson heads on them

I love the series of shows and play occasionally tapped out when I'm bored...but I'm not sure I want to spend the coin to get these for myself. I will probably get a few for some Simpson fans I know.

Blech.... I can appreciate that some people will like these for nostalgic reasons, but they don't seem like LEGO at all to me. I'll be passing on these for sure.

I'm with AK_Brickster on this one. The simpsons has no personal appeal to me, and the figs/accessories are not even close to being intriguing enough for me to shell out $4 for one minifigure.
I do want to say, though, that there's no guarantee that the rest of the new series will be $4 from now on. Remember that this is a licensed theme, and the sets for licensed themes are almost always more expensive than normal. It could just be a one time thing.

Meh, I think I'll pass. I'm not into the Simpsons, and even if there are some interesting parts $4 is just...nah. Unfortunately I can imagine Lego sort "never really dropping back down" from the $4 in the future, although I dearly hope they change it back to $3 after this, my parents already think $3 is too much for a minifig so I have a hard time getting them already.

LEGO The Simpsons - a personal review by andhe :-), on Flickr After seeing the initial product pictures of the new LEGO The Simpsons CMF range I hadn't intended to buy any of them. However I discovered a box in my local Sainsbury's and combined with a slight touch of boredom decided to have a feel and came home with this one. First impressions - I found them very hard to distinguish by feeling. There weren't any obvious bulky accessories and all the heads basically feel the same (large and bumpy). Opening the packet - I had heard of complaints about the smell, and this is no joke, as I cut open the small packet a waft of chemical fumes hit me. Even with the packet being opened for a good half hour and the figure constructed, stick your nose in the packet and you could still get high on something. I'm guessing it's something to do with the heads? The figure - the plastic quality is worse than your standard 'boxed' figure as expected from the CMF range now, and I'm still not keen on the giant heads - it just doesn't feel 'lego'. I went for Krusty however as I felt he looked less stupid than the others. Final thoughts - £2.50 is pricey for one figure, I can perhaps stomach it for a licensed property, but for a standard CMF they will really have to WOW me. I may pick up a few others if I see them on offer or discount, but at that price there's no way I'd collect the whole set.

A sort of light yellow rather than white (that came with the CMF series 5 clown). By less stupid... I guess I mean't he already looks stupid, so the gormless grin isn't as off-putting. I read somewhere that in the TV show, you rarely see the characters face-on (from the front), which is why the proportions look so odd.

I have them all. I think they had to have the heads they have. I agree it limits what you can then do with them, but if they didn't, then they wouldn't really be the Simpsons and that would be slightly self defeating. I guess it just depends whether you want some Simpsons figures or not. I wouldn't mind a second run.. Barney, Moe, Smithers, Lenny and Carl, Marge's sisters, Skinner, Crabapple, Dr Hibbert, Comic Book Store guy, Sideshow Bob, Groundskeeper Willie, Rod and Todd and Kent Brockman would be perfect. ...and Martin, Otto and Mayor Qimby...and Rev Lovejoy... and Fat Tony... and snake... So just 5 or 6 series will be fine.

Like a good number of you have said, I'm also not forking out for these. I have loved the previous CMF series, but this one has next to no use for what I build. Shame and I hope if there are other CMF series they don't go the same way.
