Walking the halls - Lenfeld - March Freebuild - 1 Flipus and Marcius were walking down the hall of sir Kejtar's keep discussing the future of the realm. So many developments in recent days that have such an impact on all the people, not only Lenfels. As trusted advisors to sir Kejtar they're trying to make sense of all the incoming news and to sift out the planted deceptions by the enemies of the realm. So much responsibility......

LC18 Entry 1 Filipus
Filipus is sir Kejtar's third cousin thrice removed. The relation is so far out there that the both of them use it more as a private joke between them then anything though on the other hand family is family. Some also may wonder how does that work out age wise... well there were some old and young ancestors procreating and old and young ages resulting in unusual family tree - sir Kejtar calls it more often a big bush rather then a tree as it seems at times wider then taller. Getting back to Filipus though - he does not have any honorific titles, he is just what he seems to be: a gentleman of good upbringing with good education, military experience and skill as well as a fair sized property and wealth. He might not be a top scholar in the land but his curiosity for life and news as well as interest in all things historical as they relate to the realm and its governance make him a great adviser. Through his business travels he also acquires a different perspective then others might which give him great insight into what goes on. He always believed in areas needing to be self sufficient and self governing though he has also been supportive of unified rule and especially unified economy (showing his business side). One thing to add is that Filipus always had a very strong persona and it seems that at times he would project himself and inhabit his surroundings with his good cheer, spirits and wisdom. Maybe that's why sometimes you can spot his reflection even on a stone wall? LC18 Entry 1 Marcius
Marcius is an old family friend. Noone really knows where he came from. He seems to have always been around and always looking ancient. He favors dressing in white and has almost a priestly demeanor though never really making any references to religion. Some wonder if he is a druid or maybe an elf descendant which give him long life and unchanging appearance. Others have accused him of being a wizard though none could state if he was a good wizard or a bad wizard. One thing is known - he could eat and drink as though he was 19 years old and still growing - none could best him at any of the table games. From time to time he would disappear on a walkabout, as he called it. When he returned he would never reveal where he went though he always had some wondrous tale that was sometimes so far fetched that it was often hard to decide if it was true or not.

Local Challenge - Leaders and Scholars - Entries Lord Orin "The Keeper" Wenslav (entry one)Lord Orin Wenslav, known as " The Keeper", is a scholar, scribe, cartographer and politician. Holding a high position at the late High Lord Wenseclaus' court he took to travelling Lenfald after Triphian's ascension to the throne. During the recent war he accompanied Lenfel troops to Garheim to cartograph the mountains and advise the Lenfel generals on political matters. He has recently returned to Stonewald, the capital city of Lenfald, to prepare an expedition to the Magic Isles to survey the damage done to the lands during the short but devastating reign of Queen Galainir. Upon arriving at his residence in Stonewald a courier handed him an invitation to High Lord Triphians court - apparently there is going to be a Great and Urgent Congress. Just as he stepped back outside to head for Stonewald Castle, a figure clad all in black and with a hood covering most of the face approached him on his steps. " So, you too have been invited to the castle. I wonder what Triphian wants" the cloaked figure said. " Milady, I thought your uncle sent you away during the war. For your safety ..." " Wenslav, we both know that isn't true. I have not been idle during the war. But I am curious - who else knew about me; and who invited me to this Congress?" the woman replied. Lady Sibyl Val (entry two)Daughter of Stonewald Aristocracy, descendant of elves from the Wandering Woods. While maintaining the persona of a spoiled child of aristocrats during the day, at night she patrolled the streets of Stonewald while the troops were deployed to Garheim and even the night watch regiments were off to fight Queen Galainir, leaving the city's citizens helpless against common criminals and outlaws. I count 15 entries, 13 of which are votable, and so many are outstanding. Thanks everyone, this is great (you have one more day too)! So we can't just have one winner for best combos here . For purposes of the LC winner itself, we will have three for the additional points. When you vote for the LC, you will select 3 figures in the poll, and the 3 with the highest get the extra points. Remember, we will have two other key votes starting on Sunday as well:1. The three options open to Lenfald for our future: which one do you want personally? 2. For the post on the second vote, see the private forum...

My first entry to the current LC. Giovanna Darren Vatella A man known clear across the kingdom as one of the keenest minds in all the known world. An inventor favored by the High Lord himself and, even has made an appearance before the King with one of his contraptions. Many of his machines are now being noticed by many Lenfald army officials for possible use in the military. Though his opinions rarely are considered he is still an important member of Lenfald aristocracy and, is present for most important gathering's and, going's on in Lenfald. He has recently taken up residence at the estate of Duke Harold Von Liktinshtine as his favored guest. "The union of the factions has existed for ages. No matter the cost we must preserve peace and, the unity of the factions. Or else dark times are ahead." --Giovanna Darren Vatella My second entry also: Duke Harold Von LiktinshtineDuke of Long Haven and, Patron of the Paladins. Harold Von Liktinshtine was born and named for his father before him, as was his father. The Von Liktinshtines have ruled over the fief of Long Haven for over four generations. Though a reclusive type Duke Harold shows no restraint in giving his opinions. "I have made up my mind. We as one can no longer bow to the King if he foolishly allows himself to be controlled by the Loreesi. If its control their Prince Jarius wants then let him have the others but, let us guard ourselves and, pull away from such folly, and if war befalls us for it. So be it." --Duke Harold Von Liktinshtine Edit Thank you Mitah.

Also could somebody tell my why I can't get my photos to show up? I am puting the img coding but it just keeps posting the link. On Flickr, klick the share button [arrow to the right], select BBCode and your desired size. Then copy the text from the text field below (Begins with: [url=https://flic.kr/...). Be sure to use the normal reply mode if you answer in an existing thread (it should be on the top right of the input area), this will not necessarily work in quick reply (the input area just at the end of every thread) Now you have two choices: 1) When in Preview mode, paste the link directly into the input area. I will not display the picture, but the copied text. Now click BBCode below the input area, then Preview again. The forum then recognizes the code and displays the image. 2) Switch to BBCode view first and paste the text directly into the appropriate position. Switch back to Preview mode and you will see the image

My entry to LC 18 Monsieur François Poisson: Born from wealth in Northeast Lenfald, near the Garheim border, his family owned a fishing fleet of 10 ships, which added to their immense wealth. His father, Sébastien, had started as a simple fisher himself, but worked hard throughout his life and eventually came to his current ownership of a sizable fishing fleet. Not only is his father a successful businessman, but he also is the mayor of the sprouting town named la ville de la truite. This town is based around the fishing industry, with François's father of course owning the largest fleet. Sébastien Poisson has immense political clout in the region, partly due to his politically savvy, but mostly in part to his economic power. François himself, is not nearly so accomplished. Born rich, he was sent to a private academy for his schooling. Upon exiting, he entered the region's military academy and exited as a Lieutenant. During the recent war against Queen Galainir, he avoided the fighting by paying off a high ranking general, and he was posted in Lenfald's capital as a general's aid. Obviously François is nothing to brag about, so why exactly is he able to go to this important meeting may you ask. Well his father wants to make his son as influential as he, and using his political and economic clout, Sébastien Poisson got François a seat at the meeting, at the price of 1,000 gold pieces in funding to Triphian.

Hey all, I don't want to interfere with anyone's posts for LC 18, but I got some new minifig parts in and decided my character could use a little visual upgrade. Here is my updated character, Abner of Darrenspur.

How does one get into this private forum? Just PM the FO (Sir Caelen) and ask for the password. Here is my first free build for March, The Recruiter's Office: Word spread quickly across Lenfald of High Lord Triphian's stand against the other leaders of Roawia. News soon reached even the westernmost cities and towns, and Darrenspur was no exception. The first messengers rode in just after nightfall on the eve of the Frülingsfest, a yearly tradition celebrating the arrival of spring and the start of the growing season. Late in the night, a heavy knock fell upon Abner's door. "Abner, waken yourself! We haven't a moment to waste." Abner was instantly wide awake, his soldier's instincts springing him immediately into awareness. Serena mumbled something in her sleep as Abner quietly slipped out of bed. He turned, kissed her softly, and hastily whispered, "I love you," before moving toward the hall. Icarus, the younger of Abner's two dogs, lifted his head questioningly as his master left. Halberd did not even stir. "Some watchdogs you are," thought Abner with a smile. He hurried to the front door, grabbing his bow and quiver on his way out. His sword was already with him- it never left his side. Abner stepped out onto the stoop and closed the door softly behind him, then turned questioningly to the man who awaited him. "What brings you at this hour, Konrad?" queried Abner. Konrad was an old friend who had enlisted with Abner. They had both been selected to become rangers around the same time as well and had fought together every time they had seen combat. "Abner, listen to me. The High Lord just denied Chartres the throne. The boy wanted to marry the daughter of that witch Galainir." Abner was appalled. "What?? I know this will play well into that rat Jarius' hand, but tell me the Jarl at least had enough sense to see the folly in this decision!" Konrad shook his head gravely. "Nay, friend. In this we stand alone. The Captain himself met our patrol after nightfall and ordered us to rouse the whole company." Konrad paused. "Abner, you know what this means... we may be gone for some time. Do you need some time to talk to Serena?" Abner shook his head. "You know she's used to it by now. She can say goodbye in her sleep and know it happened in the morning." "Then let's be off with haste." The two men took off at a run down the path to Darrenspur. -------------------------------------- The day of the Frülingsfest dawned a much more somber one than most had been expecting. The people had been eager for a hopeful celebration after years of war and hardship, only to be met once again with grim news. Darrenspur's militia had been mustered and was busy with various tasks, from sharpening weapons and fletching arrows to helping workers mine stone for new fortifications. The Rangers had been briefed the night before and had dispersed to perform their various duties. Abner and Konrad were sent to the local army recruiting station to seek out potential enlistees who possessed the skills to join the Rangers. Everyone knew that war with Loreos was a distinct possibility, and more men would be needed for that fight. Inside the recruiting station, Abner and Konrad watched as the fancifully dressed recruiter spoke with potential enlistees. "Yes, it's exactly like how you imagined it! You'll slay a dragon for sure and you're bound to meet a beautiful dame in a foreign land who will be eager for you to take her away! Now, just sign this parchment saying that you are now property of the Province of Lenfald..." "Think he's seen a day of combat in his life?" muttered Konrad. "He's probably one of those supply types. Just sits back and drinks all of our mead while we fight," chuckled Abner. "Can you believe the nonsense he's feeding these poor boys?" "They'll learn soon enough," replied Konrad. "They'll figure out what they signed up for and they will overcome their fears. We did." Abner nodded in agreement. "Still, there are fewer men here than I was expecting. Looks like we're scraping the bottom of the barrel. Not too many prospects to choose from." "Most of those who were capable died in the last two wars," commented Konrad. "Looks like we may be reporting back to the Captain empty-handed then," replied Abner. "Let's hope not."

Hear ye, Lenfels, for your future is at hand!…But first some good stuff: - Personal Points: Updated to include all LC-18 entries, monthly builds (Mitah x 2, ludzik x 1, sirmarius x 1, & Aardwolf’s March build), and Andared’s new CIC plus his Industrious Lands build (whew!). Note that these updated points means that Mitah is now a Soldier of Lenfald (2nd member to reach this high level), Ludzik is now Militia, and Lord Mercat, Aardwolf and Eolhelm of Lenfald (lego3364) are all now Citizens. Congratulations everyone! - Andared: Welcome back to the “land of the living”! For those who don’t remember, Andared Warden of The Forests was one of those unfortunate characters who was lost during the War with the Queen. He comes back to us with all his personal points as agreed upon during that GC as his new character, Michael Breadman. Andared , you wanted to help write; can you take a stab at Lenfald’s History for the Faction Intro? I’m swamped and you’ve been with us for the long haul. Mitah can provide many details too. His Death to The Usurper is a great example of what I think should be featured there. - More returns: theboywonder’s character has returned from exile (welcome back as well sirmarius !) with his original points back as well. - Both soccerkid6 and Grant W. are active again. Grant W. now has the Private Forum password, PM myself or BrickMadness if you need it as well. - Becheman missed out again; need you for the upcoming GC. Don’t miss out on that one too. - Workin' it. I’ve been trying to get some of this work done, but here is what I still need to do for the faction intro: Major Cities post updated; Lore stripped from Monuments and Wonders post with LC-17 builds added from AardWolf , Mitah Val Karem and Sir Haymar Glen ; Lore added to the History post (which also needs to be written); and a Leaders of Lenfald thread with all these LC-18 entries, plus leader-PCs, created. I’ll get to these sometime when I can catch a breath… And now, we make Lenfald history with three critical votes:- Vote for Lenfald’s Future. This is perhaps the most important vote you have ever cast in our history. Vote now! This poll locks March 27 at 11:30pm, but if we get everyone’s vote in early I can close it and we can proceed with our future:
Vote for Lenfald’s Future- Vote for Best Figs of LC-18! The specific LC-18 vote. Closes March 27 at 11:30pm. This vote is about quality. You to choose the best three minifigs out of 17 entries based on two factors: fig combos and character background/story, and then select each. The 3 with the top scores win an additional point for their builder, and prominence in the Lenfald leadership thread I’m going to create for all these. Remember this vote is about building and character, not about leadership (that’s the next vote):
Vote for LC-18’s Best 3 Minifigs- Vote for the Best 3 NPC Leaders for Lenfald. Poll locks March 27 at 11:30pm. This vote is about leadership. Read the background on each entry then you choose the 3 characters who you believe have those qualities most needed to lead Lenfald:
Vote 3 Best NPC LeadersSome other thoughts:- As a Faction, we rule! Two months ago I was very concerned, but now participation is very high and we are going in a great new direction, with a healthy mix of new and veteran builders. - There will be an important Global Storyline update next weekend, with builds by myself and Sir Haymar Glen , who has been assigned the task of building the Great Congress of Lenfald, and including as many of our PC and NPC characters as possible. I think you guys will really like it all. - There may be a GC associated with this update, so I am putting off Lenfald’s LC-19 so that we can concentrate on GC-10…it’s VERY important we stay on top for points, guys, so I will press for max participation on this one. Did I mention the next GC is important? Thanks to everyone, I’m thrilled with everything going on with our Faction in LoR!

Voted for two of the three, the future of Lenfald I will have to decide Hey not sure if it was you or someone else, but in the minifig polls I think someone only voted for one fig (there are 25 votes from 9 voters on each). Just wanted to give a friendly reminder to whoever it is that you have two votes left on each poll:)
