Looks great so far Sam. We probably do have the pips, but I'll have to make sure. I do have a couple of questions however: Who's attacking, and who's defending? Are we allowed to assemble our troops whatever formations we feel looks good, or will there be a set standard? Can we contribute ships to the harbor battle as well? And if so, how many? Also, how will this fit into the Global Story? Or have we not gone that far yet? I personally am not that interested in any of the extracurricular activities, except for possibly the smaller set draft. (Oh, and Willard's, of course. ) Cheers, Joshua

Ok thanks Joshua. As far as attacking, I am thinking the Outlaws will partner with either Garheim or Lenfald. Probably Lenfald for two reasons. Loreos has terrible relationships with both Outlaws and Lenfald. I can see that no Lenfel would ever form an alliance with a Loreesi. The Outlaws don't particularly care for Loreos, because since they have been under Jairus they have been constantly attacked. Additionally, the partnership at Maldrake's fortress brought together a lot of Lenfels and a lot of Outlaws. 1.) So, for this collab, I am thinking Lenfald and Outlaws against Garheim and Loreos. The Lenfels and Outlaws will attack a Loreesi port. The Garhims will come to reinforce the Loreesi. 2.) I think each person should assemble their troops in whatever formation they desire. I imagine, in a battlefield, there would be lots of different units of different sizes. There will be no set standard for troop formations, although I will post a formation to give every builder some ideas. 3.) Please PLEASE contribute some ships to the harbor battle! If there are 8-10 ships that would be great. If more, even better! I think we will take as many ships as able, as it won't be hard to expand. 4.) No idea how (or even if) this will fit into the global story. We will have to see what the KC has planned. Hope that helps some. I understand now why you didn't want to be the head collaborator this year. This is intense

Aye, sounds like ye be in need of some pirate Outlaws, nay? 'oist the colors boys! We're goin' raidin'! It'd be cool if all the Outlaw ships, if intended to be pirates or raiders, or anything of the like, had hilarious names. Like but not limited to, Galainir's Revenge, Chartres' Peach Fuzz, The Flying Drunk Man (I think I might reserve this one for myself ), The Jarl's Backbone, and Unsinkable III.

1.) So, for this collab, I am thinking Lenfald and Outlaws against Garheim and Loreos. The Lenfels and Outlaws will attack a Loreesi port. The Garhims will come to reinforce the Loreesi. Garhims and Loreesi?! We would never team up with those sorry sand snufflers . In all seriousness, good to see this is moving along. Question, will the invaders have breached the city? Because I had this idea of making a tower within the city being held out by defenders for one of my modules. I think the battle would be much more interesting if there was combat within the walls. Also, I'll take responsibility for bringing Yursuff if needed

Lol Ian. I like the Loreesi name, the Triple S (Sorry Sand Snufflers). It's sad, nobody wants to be with the Loreesi.
As we had envisioned before, the invaders had not breached the city for a couple of reasons.
-If there is a battle outside and inside the walls, including the sea, it will just be one huge battle from one end to the other. Nothing but a big chaotic mess. Which, although it sounds fun, I'm sure the guys would agree with me we almost got too chaotic last year. It was kind of hard to tell what exactly was going on, and we had to explain to most people there was a three way battle. Most of that is my fault, so I am trying to correct that a little this year by getting a little organization to the chaos (weird, huh?).
-I know it may seem like it will be more interesting to have combat within the walls, but I think this could actually be too messy. If we have over 70 modules, and on 65+ of those modules there is fighting, then the unwashed, untrained mobs (otherwise none as the public) will be incredibly confused. I would hazard a guess over 50% of the people we talked to had to be told what was taking place.
-Additionally, it's going to be hard enough setting up 1,000 figures outside of the walls fighting. To add to the inside would cause a couple hundred more. These minifigures on a grand scale can be a real pain to set up if you don't have space. It might be really hard setting up a battle scene around all the buildings inside the walls.
-It took us over 6 hours (including all aspects of the battle) last year just to set the minifigures up. Yeah, that is literally not an exaggeration in the slightest. If anything, I'm lowballing us. All the guys will tell you the same. We started setting the minifigures up on Friday morning (or was it Thursday evening?), and were working on them well past 6pm on Friday. Even then, when we were finished, we kept going back and tweaking them. As a matter of fact, I think me and Spencer finally stopped tweaking them a little after midnight when Adult Swim started.
My opinion is based upon experience and learning some from last year. However, I am just one voice and the other people in the collab may want combat within the walls. For all of our sakes I really hope not!
Oh and feel free to bring Yursuff. If I remember correctly we had 4 last year. It would be neat if we could get a few more

One year Jordan, you need to fly out here. It would definitely be a lot cheaper for you to fly here than all of us to fly there I've got your sigfig built, so Rayth can make an appearance if you want.

Oh, ok. That makes sense. I'm assuming we'll have archers/ballistae along the walls, though?

Absolutely. The walls will be covered with archers. I imagine there will be a few siege engines on the battlefield, as well.

I agree full on combat inside the city would be a huge headache, and many of the details would get lost, but what if there was a small section of the wall blown open and we had a surge of Outlaws/Lenfels pouring in? Not too many, like 10-30 combined?
I also second the need for scared citizens. It wouldn't be complete without it.
As for Yursuff, if we have enough show up, we could have one ship manned and helmed exclusively by everyone's favorite camel dealer. If anyone remembers that scene from Pirates of the Caribbean where Jack is in Davy Jone's locker and on a ship with other Jacks, each with different levels of dress and gear, that's the direction I'd go. All Yursuffs, but each relatively individual.

That would be pretty epic. Yursuff and his army of clones/twin brothers sail into the fight! Also, I'm assuming the figs will be yellow, right?
