I don't want to take up the whole discussion thread since there is other stuff for the general site that needs to be discussed, and I don't want to bury that feedback under all of this filing discussion. Current structure: - Nations of Roawia
- NoR Info and Sign Up
- Factions of Roawia
- Garheim
- Lenfald
- Loreos
- Outlaws
- Global Events
- Global Challenges
- Rival Challenge
- Guild Hall
Proposed Structure:
- Nations of Roawia
- NoR Info and Sign Up
- Factions of Roawia (main faction threadis stickied here)
- Private Boards
- Garheim Private
- Lenfald Private
- Loreos Private
- Outlaws Private
- NoR Global Challenges
- Guild Hall
- Rival Challenges
This should eliminate a few clicks, particularly accessing the stuff that is the most common, which is the factions section. Instead of posting your MOCs in the Garheim Board, as you would with the existing structure, you can now just post in the "Factions of Roawia" board, with the title, "Garheim - March FB - MOC Name" or, "Lenfald - LC15 - MOC Name".
The reason I made a "Private Boards" sub-folder is because the Factions are all going to be stickied, so I don't want them to be crowded out by having four private folders directly in the Factions folder. Plus, the private boards likely won't be used too often, so the extra click hopefully won't be a big inconvenience.
What do you guys think of this?
PS, for anyone using the desktop version, there is a mini-link under the "Legends" forum that you can use to directly access LoR, so it IS on the front page already.

This looks good AK. I particularly like the idea of the faction threads being stickied. Makes it easier to navigate, it does. I also think having all the private threads together, under one private board will work nicely and makes the most sense.

I agree with Schmidt here. It would be nice to see this in place and see what others think about it. I think that this layout will make it more accessible and allow you to skip a few clicks. while also making forum presentation nicer. It is easier to look through one page at the new topics, instead of go to each separate page. Although I do think the participate button in the top right is a wonderful tool. Thanks for your work! I agree that the private threads should all be together, it'd make things so much easier! This looks good so far!

Oooh I missed this thread! I support the proposed structure with one potential item to consider... Nor globalChallenges and guild hall could be together ? I don't think we would end up with overcrowding by either if they were in one subforum.

They could probably share a board without overcrowding, but they aren't really related so it seems odd to combine them.

They could probably share a board without overcrowding, but they aren't really related so it seems odd to combine them. well... here's my reasoning... the more subforums there are, the less likely I'm to visit them all (I bet there are others like me). The less subforums I visit, the less I participate and at time I might lose interest (hope that doesn't happen for a while BUT....). Why? One might not participate in one but as they see them during their "Drive by's" they might spark some interest.... Also if you did everything by category that is separate.. we'd run out of subforums

I agree that the GCs and Guilds shouldn't go together, as they're so different. That's just my opinion.

Hmm. Seems like the switch could be a little more easy to get to things!
