Btw why did adds start popping up on merlins beard? I think they are very annoying, could they somehow be gotten rid of?

The forum's host (and by that I mean David) pays to keep the banner ads away. I think David pays for 60,000 ad-free page views every month. Once those 60k page views are used up, the banners pop back up. They should go away again at the start of the new month. Sorry for the bother, but paying for additional ad-free views gets expensive. We will gladly accept donations toward buying more ad-free page views!

i got an ad block that only stops pop-up ads, i do not see value in pop-up ads, but the banner ads... well they dont hurt me, they help the site i am on... and sometimes they have something i might be interested in.

Ok, just wondering if they were going to stay, thanks to David for keeping them away.

so what they are also saying is stop hitting F5.... yeah.... i am a bad culprit of reloading the forums a few times a day to see if anything new is up, and re-reading stories and posts and the like...

Anyone ever thought of doing like a Star Wars draft here? It may not be the place for it seeing how the majority are Castle builders and dislike fleshies, but still, Star Wars sets do tend to have great pieces. One might be cool, you know, all the devoted Castle builders and fleshies haters going for pieces, while the others get all the 'figs.

while i like the fleshies we get in the medieval lines, i just avoid space themes in general. i find that they dont inspire me like the castle ones do, that i prefer a simple time, with more metal in hands than bullets in the air.

I agree with you graham Some SW sets can be a treasure trove. However at this time I also avoid space theme sets as most have a limited amount of parts that are useful. And being that we are a castle/medieval/fantasy board I think that it would be good to stik with those types of sets to draft. Though drafting the Ewok Village could be interesting....

Though drafting the Ewok Village could be interesting.... the only starwars set i am interested in.... you found my weakness, right next to my lack of money.

The pieces for 75052 Mos Eisley Cantina could probably work for Castle, as could the 75050 B-Wing and 75049 Snowspeeder. Really, it would just be a cool way to get all those pieces that you don't usually see in Castleish sets, in decently high quantities. But I dunno, it was just a thought.

Space sets can be a treasure trove for castle builders, I agree. It's also fun to get parts you normally would never pick out yourself, and then try to figure out how to use them for castle MOCs.

So i started creating my own decals, i found that i desired some more decals that Lego either didnt make, or i just didnt have enough of, mostly things like mushrooms, food stuffs, wood boards, ect... i am going to try them on clear decal paper first, and if i am happy with that i will stick with it, if not, then i am going to do stickers. all custom cut and such, i also am hunting for a new source of fabric for sails, capes, curtains and the like as i love custom work outside of the "ABS Casting" side of things, as i cant see myself tossing that much cash at it... right now, i have about 15 custom wood board 1x4 decals to print off that i will want to see how they look, i am designing a civilian torso that i might use to make some of my acquired city torsos into medieval torsos. i used to do custom video game work (not my own art though) and have quite a bit of experiance doing art removal and such, did some decal work on warhammer figures and such before i got out of that hobby. so i am hoping i can do some good work, maybe become another seller of custom works and a supplier of some of the competitions on the forum, maybe see if we can get some of the bigger bloggers to post about us more often and such so we can get some more fresh blood in here. as i came to this site via a blog post just over a month ago and am loving it (obviously, as my post count shows) i personally credit the forum and Lands Of Roawia as rekindling my love of LEGO. So we will see, this upcoming weekend i am crazy busy (Canadian Thanksgiving) and then the weekend after i am drunk (early 30th birthday celebration) and then i am off to LEGO Land the week after, but as i get this project running, i will keep you all updated.
