LoR - Raising The Banner by Brickninja, on Flickr
First off, as I'm sure you've noticed, I now have a watermark! Yay! I've realized as I increase in building skill I want to avoid anyone stealing any of my images, plus it makes my pictures look more professional. Anyway, I'm fairly proud of this one, although I think the tower could be a bit taller. Oh well. This is my second free build for the Lands of Roawia RPG of June. I hope you like the story and build, I would welcome any commentary or constructive criticism.
The chilly night wind blew across the torch-bearing Garhims' faces. Sir Ian Ferguson, armored, and bearing the blue standard of Garheim led the party to the low tower of the Dunharris wall. Less than half an hour ago, he and his men had reclaimed Dunharris from the occupying forces of Galainir. The spears were still bloodstained, the shields were still damaged, and Sir Ian's slain warriors had not yet been buried. As he proceeded up to the tower with Kvasald, the ruler of the town, he remembered his fallen men. Kvasald spoke: "This war has no' been easy for Roawia. Mark of Falworth fell at Devil's pass, an' Gabriel Darkstar of Garheim was killed by some foul sorcery at the siege of the Royal castle. Many others have perished to the blades of Galainir."
"Aye." was the young knight's only response. Kvasald sighed. "But I hear it may be a' ending' soon. I know not whether Prince Chartres has freed our Jarl, but I know the siege of the Royal Castle must be ending' soon."
Sir Ian nodded thoughtfully, then, mounting the wall tower,
he turned and faced the troop of his soldiers and the remaining Dunharris militia. "Men of Garheim!" He said in a loud voice, his breath frosting in the night air. "We may have lost some shield-brothers today, but the false Queen has lost more! We have freed Dunharris, and we will continue to fight for our land till we have freedom!!"
A cry of assent rose up in response. "We shall end this war!" With that Kvasald stepped forward and tore the foreboding banner of the Queen from the tower. Sir Ian replace it with the bold blue of the Northland, an act he hand been wanting to commit ever since gazing at the Dunharris gates weeks before. Bjorn Thorfinn stepped forward, his torch flickering and flaring in the wind. He touched the torch the Queen's flag, which quickly ignited. "For freedom!!" cried Kvasald as he cast the burning banner from the wall. A roar of triumph emitted from the Garhims. Dunharris flew the mighty blue of Garheim once again.
