I'm trying to create a earthquake/broken ground style floor for a MOC I'm working on. I'm not quite happy with what I've come up with and thought I had some ideas saved as favourites on flickr, but it appears I haven't.
Does anyone have a MOC of their own or a favourite that they could give me a link to for inspiration?
Thanks!

Looking great so far. The crack on the left especially looks great. By the way, what type of MOC are you making, Superheroes or a different theme? Also, I'm not too sure about the holes in the road, unless they are perhaps small sinkholes. What ever looks best to you though. Keep up the good work! Sir Valiant~

Thanks, yes it is another superhero MOC. I've kind of lost my way in LoR so waiting for the right LC/GC that I can jump back into. The holes are there for some other additions. I think you're right about the left one looking better, I'll try adapt the right one to be similar to the left Andhe

I think one thing about Matthew's that I prefer is that the width of the crack varies along its length, whereas your width is more uniform. Your scale is a lot smaller though, so maybe that's harder to accomplish.
Try googling "earthquack crack" and you'll get a lot of great photos for reference.

It's also good to have a few smaller cracks splintering off of the main chasms.
Here are a couple of shots of Sir Carlsberg's Highway to Hell MOC for further inspiration:

Thanks guys! That's all very helpful. I'll see if I can dig out some more dark grey slopes and try to vary the split a little.

I started again with a different technique. I'm thinking of filling the gap with trans-orange. The building perhaps needs a crack as well, but I'm still thinking about how that might work. Earthquake WIP 2 by andhe :-), on Flickr

Oooh, nice! You've got some real texture going on there; I like it!

I ended up scrapping this, I may come back to the idea later, but it just wasn't working out and I don't have the parts to just let WIPs sit around! Anyway, ended up turning it into this... Astro Champion:Origins #1 by andhe :-), on Flickr

I like the finished product, though I really would love to see you revisit the earthquake thing you had going on before with all the different levels and jagged texture. I think that would make for an interesting build.

i kinda hope you will come back to this project, as it looks bloody brilliant, and i love the cracked road that you had right before you scraped it. i know this is an old thread, but just wanted to let you know also, if you dont mind, i am totally gonna take this idea and run with it for a MOC, medieval style!
