EDIT: Chickens have been ordered. Let's shift this to general castle planning for BrickCon.

I am up for chickens!
I am planning on doing a froggy invasion to some space guys sometime, if people want to do those along with or instead of the chickens it would be cool.
Are you thinking of finishing up the revision on the CC Standard and letting everyone build for that? or just doing a less restrictive display like last year?

I would really love to see some further effort put into creating an updated castle standard....
I like the frogs and chickens, though I don't think we have to restrict ourselves to using the same type of invading animal/creature/figure. I know that Josh will have his purple bears, plus who knows what else. I'll probably bring back some or all of my pig and cow armies from last year, though I could just as easily mount an invasion with orcs, trolls, or other fantasy minifigs. I think the key thing is that we get out there and really invade some other sections!

My dad has 50 of the alien conquest head clingers, that could be helpful! If we want to invade other areas...Castle vs. Space?

Do you guys think we could start a kick starter to raise the fund for getting 2000 chickens?

Lol. I doubt we would be able to raise that much. What would we do for pledges? Give them chickens?

Brickarms sponsors many kickstarters, we might get him to print on chickens, maybe put a brickcon logo on the side of the chicken, and after the show we could give some of them to the supporters.

I definitely would be open to starting a "local" chicken support fund, lol. If you would like chickens, please comment below with how many you want, in multiples of 10. Like I said before, brown ones run about $0.52 each. When it gets closer to the convention, I'll PM you information for payment and will order all of the chickens at once. Your cost will be whatever your chickens cost plus $1 for shipping (unless you can pick them up from me at the convention), which is probably less than the BL seller charges, so you'll come out ahead. I'll even throw in a couple of small freebies for those who "sponsor" this chicken invasion. If you want white ones, note that as well, and I'll see what kind of inventory is available come ordering time.

Hey Jordan just wanted to let you know that I might be able to come to Brickcon this year. I am still thinking of whether or not to display, or just come to view other peoples MOCs as it would be my first time ever at a LEGO convention. As I think that through I still don't know 100% if I am able to go.
I know that I would love the experience and it would be really fun to display a MOC or two of my own but we shall see. If I do come, I may buy some chickens but as of today I am low on LEGO funds! And I only have one brown chicken of my own!

Yeah, my first few times at BrickCon I just went as random public, but I can tell you that being an exhibitor is way more fun. There are lots of games, events, and prizes that are only available to the registered builders. Plus it's cool to be able to hang out on the builder side of the stanchions to see how things are made, talk with the people who made them, learn new techniques, and get inspired. I literally spend all year looking forward to what I'm going to build/do/display at BrickCon (and now Bricks Cascade).

Brickcon is the best! Ive been there every year since it started, my dad brought most of the moonbase modules for the space display. He never got into castle very much though...
So i'll get some chickens, not sure how many. I'll plan to pick them up at Brickcon.
