UPDATE:
In order to get the correct number of participants, age requirements have been lessened. The draft is for anyone over the age of 18. However, if you are under the age of 18 and receive parental consent then you are more than ok to participate in this draft. The set has been determined to be LEGO Castle "Gatehouse Raid" 70402
-----------------------------------------------------
Hey guys,
After talking to David, I have been given permission to host the first ever Merlin's Beard online parts draft.
If you do not know what a parts draft is, thebrickblogger.com has a nice write-up of one here.
Basically we will follow the same rules, except that picks will be done via a photo in my FLICKR stream.
I have hosted a draft before and you can find the thread here.
The pick order will be decided via random.org.
After the pick order is selected, the draft will be snake draft style, such as: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1, etc.
Participants will ship the LEGO set to me and I will begin dividing the sets. I have a great (with no tarnishes) feedback rating at classic-castle.com, and an impeccable ebay account if you desire to see those.
Unfortunately, this is draft has two limitations:
1.) There can only be 8 participants.
2.) Participants must be AT LEAST 18 years of age. If a participant is UNDER the age of 18, they can still participate if they are given parental consent.
If you are over the age of 18, feel free to sign up. If you are under the age of 18 please receive parental consent before signing up.
I would sign-up quick, if I was you. If you do not know if you will have the money to pay for your set and return shipping, please DO NOT sign up. You can certainly type "maybe" in the thread if you are undecided on whether you want to do it, but if you type "maybe" and then eight people after you type "yes," you will be unable to participate in this draft.
At the end of the draft, you will be required to pay for shipping for your pieces.
Also, while not required, it is generally a kind gesture to "tip" the draft host. Organizing, sorting, and getting all of this together by yourself is incredibly time consuming. The tip is up to you though.
The set we will be drafting is Gatehouse Raid, a 2013 LEGO Castle set, item number 70402.
